i believe that they have a good goal...but i think that the go to the extremes with matters, and that makes them look like they r crazy, which im sure most of them r....they would save a dee before they even thought of saving any human old, young, sick, etc

I agree. They have an admirable goal of preventing animal mistreatment, but their methods and some of their specific beliefs are ridiculous. They steal seeing eye dogs from the blind because they consider it "slavery" for a dog to work like that. No regard at all for what happens to the blind guy in the middle of the busy street when they steal the dog, though. It's stupid.

I've never really liked them. They seem to do more harm then good.

I believe treating animals fairly is a very good thing but Peta goes about things in the wrong way. They are loud and abrasive, making it harder for anyone to join their cause. Like the old saying goes"you catch more flies with honey than vinagar."

Also they don't seem to think ahead when they preform the acts of animal saving. A lot of animals they saved from shelters died in their care because they didn't plan out the care ahead of time.

I have this friend who's an extreme PETA supporter and we got into an argument about whether or not its okay to make your cat a Vegan.

They go way too far. xp

I understand the goal and agree with it to an extent, but their take on it is too extreme. My parents used to show dogs when I was little and I got dragged around to all the shows. One time someone from PETA let all the dogs out of the cages... lets just say total chaos, lost dogs and all.

Also: funny side story. I was outside one of the Smithsonian museums on a class trip. Girl on the steps is handing out PETA stickers. Guy in my class walks up to her and says to her face very loudly "I like bacon!"

From what I heard, they've killed tons of animals. Apparently, they care more about controlling others behaviors with animals than they do about animal lives.

I read this website about fish and the renaming to "sea kittens." It was a whole site about making fish out to look like they are cute, fuzzy kittens, complete with educational information and games. I thought the site was a joke... It wasn't. It was Peta.

@Z: That's plain stupidity and ignorance right there. There's nothing different about asking an animal to help you see. It's no more "slavery" than keeping a dog as a pet, who lays around the house all day while you live your life, just for the chance to be walked or played with in the yard.

If anything, the seeing eye dog is treated better because the owner appreciates him more and is more bonded to him. The dog is more likely to get affection and more championship.

PETA's leaders are real out there. I've seen some interviews of them and they are not grounded in reality. There are many other groups that help people and animals. Study there background and there vision before joining any of them. You might be in for a shock at what they realy beleave.

I agree, Google inc. had launched a go green lawn care program, which involved using animals such as goats and horses and cows to eat the grass in there lawns instead of using extremely polluting lawn mowers. When The P.E.T.A. found out about this, they went of the deep end!
They have good intentions, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and they need to be more moderate in there violations and stuff.
