Saedah was trying to be brave....it...was..more dififcult than she realized. Still she had told her father that she was heading to the vending machine...quickly explaining that she didn't want to buy anything from it as she knew her papa hated super sugar filled treats. She just wanted to ...get out of their small aparment...and stretch a bit.
At..least that is what she kept telling herself as she inched her way to the vending machine feeling rather fearful and halftempted to abandon her adventure to flee to Legeia's place. She knew the route to his home well...but..he may not be home..then she would have to contend with....she inwardly flinched...Ter. She was still fearful of him and his dragon...and Geia's dragon...well...all dragons...but she had to try and be brave... she reached with her fingersto stroke the blue ribbon that was acting as a headband for her hair at the moment.
Yes...fo..for Geia she would do it.

His mother had been busy and she's once again said that he couldn't go see Kate because it was almost dinner time and it wasn't nice to drop in on people at that time. Cassi had sighed, but when his mother's back had turned to finish cooking, he'd gotten his courage up to go and visit Kate anyways.
Unfortunately, she hadn't been home. Sad, the boy started to trudge back to his apartment next door when he heard something behind him. It wasn't a loud noise, which would've startled him, but a soft noise. Maybe Kate was coming home! The boy's ears perked up at that thought and he rushed ahead to greet Kate. Because who else could it be?
Darting about a corner, he almost ran right into someone who was not Kate. Startled, he yelped, but managed not to wet his pants...

Needless to say Saedah shrank back and covered her head when she suddenly found someone coming at her from around a corner. Letting outa small shriek of fear and surprise, her coils coming to wrap around her as if she could just...hide from the world.
And she then shrank down into her coils quivering, so much for the attempting to be brave part...

Cassi yelped again when whoever he'd come across shrieked. He stumbled backwards, falling on his butt and yelping again. "W-who are y-you?"

One...watching them probably would of been laughing their butts off at this point. Two young children both managing to scare the wits out of each other just by colliding.
When she heard the voice she tried to stop her trembling, she took deep breaths...her anxiety was trying to overwhelm her and take over but she counted from thirty backwards. Slowly her trembling subsided, she managed to peek from spread fingers to where the boy was now sitting on the ground. He...wasn't so ..s..scary.
Swallowing she lifted her head a bit and then looked bashful.. "S..sooorry.." She murmured ashamed at her behavoir. She twisted her hands together in front of her. She then recalled he had asked her a question and she half bowed to him apologetically.
"Sor..sorry. " she stated again, the bowing was habit from her father. "M..my name is..S...s..Saedah.." she managed to squeak out.

Now that the initial shock was over, he couldn't help but notice that she wasn't much bigger than him, really. Little kids couldn't be scary, right? Kate was little like him... and she wasn't scary. Well, most of the time. Sometimes she could be scary, but she always stopped when he asked.
"I'm Cassi." The boy replied, sitting up now, his tail curling about to his lap where he could play with the end of it. "You have no legs." He bluntly stated.

She blinked at him as he began to play with his tail, and when he mentioned her missing legs she looked down at her coils and then back to him.
"Y..you don't have scales.." She murmured with a shy smile and then she giggeled and brushed some of her bangs that were hanging in her eyes out of her way.
"N..nice to mee..et you Cassi." She played with the ribbon in her hair before she looked around realizing they were both sitting in the middle of the hallway and no one had come by and gotten mad at them. Yet.
"D..do you live here?" Came the inquiry as she shifted and slithered closer to the wall so that she would be out of the way just in case.

Cassi shook his head, smiling. This was nice! She was much much nicer than the last person who'd had no legs. The boy nodded at her question. "I live next to Kate!" He happily proclaimed, though who Kate was, he didn't bother to mention. But it was important to him, it seemed.
"You live here too?"

The small smile still was on her face as she giggled again, "Y..yes...with my papa." She murmured as she tilted her head running through her mind the short list of people she knew. Kate was not amoungst the list.
"W..who is K..kate?" She asked feeling as if this was someone who was very important to Cassi. Perhaps like Geia was to her? Her face flushed a bit at the thought of the owl boy. How she adored him.

Cassi nodded. Kate lived with her daddy, after all, so it wasn't a surprise to him that others had daddies at home instead of mommies like he had. He blinked at her question. "Kate.... Kate like me. We same." But talking about Kate made him realize how much he missed her. Sighing, his ears drooped a bit. "Not seen Kate in a while..."

Saedah listened and it sounded...well she thought it sounded like Cassi had...a brother or sister that they missed. At...least that was what it sounded like. She fiddeled with the hem of her shirt a bit before she reached out a hand timidly.
Her fingers trmebeled as she stretched it out to Cassi.
"I..its...o..okay. I am s..sure you will..g..get to..see Kate s.soon." She encouraged.

Cassi smiled. "I hope so." The boy fiddled with the end of his tail for a moment. "Where you going?" He didn't really have a destination now that he'd found out that Kate wasn't home and the noises he'd heard weren't Kate. Maybe this girl was going somewhere fun~ Like that room with the pretty flowers!

Saedah's simple thoughts derailed at the question. Where was she going? She grasped as what she had been doing out here, the purpose of her leaving the saftey of her home.
"Uh..." she murmured trying to put words to her scattered mind. "t..to..th...the..v..vending machine?" she responded finally as if she was now unsure of her destination.

"Oh. Me come too?" Well, the vending machine sounded much more fun than going nowhere. Cassi glanced about, trying to remember where the machine was. He didn't leave home very often, except to go to class and such. And he was always with his mommy...

She didn't have any objection to having Cassi coming along with her. In fact...it would be a relief to have someone with her rather than going on her own to the vending machine. Though this had been a test of her bravery and nerves...she wondered if it didn't count now that she had Cassi come with her.
"S..sure." She replied with a shy smile, she still had her small change purse with her. Maybe they could share something at the vending machine.
"I..w..would like that." She offered Cassi her hand.
