((CHAPTERS WILL FOLLOW SOON))
Prologue
Listen to the voice of the forest. The wind whispering though the trees. The smell of cool rain, the feel of soft earth below. Nothing could be heard, except for the sound of animals, then silence. Fear filled the forest as two strangers walked through. Their grace and beauty was combined with their vengeful, evil eyes. Anyone who looked upon them feel desire and agony simultaneously. To strangers, the two men would have looked like gods lost in our unworthy world. One was tall and slender, with a toned frame, shoulder length blond hair, his eyes a piercing silver, his skin as pale as snow. The second was shorter than his companion, with short midnight black hair, hazy gray eyes, his skin looked as if it hadn’t seen daylight in centuries. Both men were dressed in black, head to toe. On each of their jacket sleeves was a blood red symbol, embroided so elegantly it looked like a work of art. The two men were talking in harsh, rapid tones, making their speech illogical. They seemed to be looking for someone or something as they argued.
“We can‘t just kill the thing Julian. It is one of us.” The shorter of the two said with such conviction that Julian took a step back.
“We must kill that monster.” Julian’s eyes narrowed in rage. He turned towards his companion, glaring at him as if he would kill him if he tried to challenge his decision.
“I know we must destroy it. But still…”
“I know Eoin, I know.” As they turned a corner they heard a noise from behind. Both went down into defensive positions within a second. Silence followed, but they never moved. Then they saw it, someone was following them.
“We know your there.” Eoin muttered to himself, eager to find out who was behind them. Julian growled at the stranger until he caught sight of something red on his sleeve. The symbol of their people, the only thing that binded them together, for all eternity. He looked at Eoin and nodded, then relaxed his defensive position into one of friendship. Eoin followed quickly, not wanting to upset Julian anymore than he already had.
“Brother or sister, we know you are one of us. Please identify your identity.” After a minutes wait, a man stepped into sight. His features were similar to that of Eoin and Julian, yet strangely more beautiful. He had dark wavy brown hair, soft green eyes, pale skin with just the slightest tint of peach, his clothes were all black like except for a silver gun at his waste. Yet, he looked more human than the two standing in front of him. The stranger nodded his head once, and walked over to Julian and Eoin.
“You’re a newborn.” Eoin muttered in disbelief. He had never seen a newborn before. Let alone one with such control with his emotions.
“Whats your name, young one?” Julian wasn’t as interested as Eoin was. He had created Eoin himself, and had seen many newborns when he was young. This one however seemed different than the rest, mature for his young age. He waited patiently for his reply. The newborn looked at Julian, and spoke in an angelic voice that sounded like a chorus of songs.
“My name is Gabriel. I‘m not a recent newborn, I was created a few months ago.” Gabriel looked away, as if the memory of becoming a newborn was painful to remember. Although becoming a newborn wasn’t a painful experience, it was eye opening. You saw the world and people in a new light. Some newborns didn’t mind this, yet others couldn’t stand remembering. It was one of the mysteries of becoming a newborn. Eoin’s voice broke through Gabriel’s thoughts.
“Why have you come Gabriel?” Gabriel thought about the question for a moment.
“The child. What are you planning to do to it?” Eoin and Julian were taken aback at the question. How could knowledge of the child be out so soon?
“How did you…?”
“My creator created the child. He said it was an experiment of some kind.” Julian didn’t know this creator, but whoever he or she was, he would personally find them and punish them. He took a deep breath and turned around.
“Lets keep going. I want to end this before morning comes.” And with that Julian walked away, Eoin and Gabriel following his path. They walked in silence for the next hour. Then they saw a cabin only used when newborns were being created. As they approached they saw movement in the windows. Within seconds they had moved in front of the door and knocked softly. After a seconds wait the door flew open and a woman was standing there. The woman looked old but the men could tell that she was one of them, a vampire. The same symbol was on her dress sleeve, and her appearance was almost similar to that of a human yet they could see that it was a fake look, for she still had the eternal youth of their kind. Her hair was dyed a silver gray, her eyes had brown contact lenses to hid her red eyes, and her skin had fake age lines that she did herself with makeup. She nodded towards the three men she saw standing in front of her and moved aside. As she did, they saw a young human woman laying on the bed at the opposite side of the room, a bundle of cloth next to her. As they entered they heard movement, and knew that the child was next to its mother. The three men walked over to the child as the old woman went over to the mother with some water.
“Is the mother to die as well?” She asked, her voice sounded as clear as a bell, with the same melodic quality to it. Julian picked up the child and looked at it.
“No, this is not the mothers sin, but we shall erase her memory” Eoin and Gabriel looked down at the child and were taken aback. The child was a little girl, with a fair amount of black, curly hair, green eyes, soft ivory skin, and angelic features. As the child opened its eyes, it looked at Gabriel and he understood, he had to save the child and mother.
“May I hold her?” He asked Julian softly, he nodded and handed the child to Gabriel without a second thought. As soon as he got the baby he grabbed the mother, who was sleeping, and bolted out the door within a second. Julian and Eoin tried to grab him, but he was too fast and managed to escape.
“Damitt!” Eoin yelled. He didn’t know newborns could be that fast.
“I have a feeling that we‘ll see the child again. After all, it is half vampire.” Julian was amused that Gabriel had found reason for his creation as soon as he looked into the babies eyes. Now he had reason for his existence as well.
