what do you think the classics for the future generations will be from the late 20th and 21st (so far) Centuries??

i.e. the versions of Dickens and Austen in 100 years time

Thats easy Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the Inheritance series. But Lord of the rings is already a classic aint it?

If we are talking of this century then I would have to say 1984 and Heart of Darkness ... though to be honest they are already so the question is a little bit strange to answer

i have a feeling that i may have to make the question a little clearer, sorry.

what i mean are what modern books from the 70's/80's onwards would be considered classics 100 years from now. does that make more sense?? sweatdrop

anyway, i think that His Dark Materials Trilogy would be considered a classic 100 years from now.

Ah, I'm so happy to find another Nancy Farmer fan. Personally, I think both House of the Scorpion and A Girl Named Disaster are extremely amazing. In fact, A Girl Named Disaster is VERY high in my favorites list.

Also, I think all those books that we used to read as kids will become eternal classics.
Like that one about the caterpillar (can't remember the name)
The one about the boy keeping a snowball in his pocket. (name?)
Goodnight, Moon. (I think...)

Well, sweatdrop even though I can't remember them by the title I can at least remember their memorable plot. biggrin
