I have never sewed before (well, just to fix a hole in a dress or stuffed animal once in a while, but it always turn out bad.)
And I was wondering if anyone had advice on someone who has never used a sewing machine before.
And are there any easy patterns you suggest?

First off I would look for a place that has sewing lessons and start from the very begining. There are pretty nice basic sewing machines out there.
But for a first project probably an elastic waistband skirt would be the best to start out with.
