The night air hung heavy with the smell of blossoming summer flowers as Remi crept into the park to serenade the moonlight. Neptune had fallen asleep at the warehouse, but Remi had wanted to see the stars, and on a clear night like this it was just so tempting to go out for a stroll. The park was almost empty, too, just the occasional forlorn human to worry about. Stretching, the novice looked around and then lifted his violin, testing the strings. A flurry of notes followed this and became an impromptu little ditty, whatever he felt would sound good. The tune drifted through the night air, the violin and the violinist and the darkened shrubs the only audience to hear the performance.
Right?

Alice was wandering around yet again; she was restless, without a beat to dance to. It was very unnatural trying to play the cello and attempt to dance at the same time. Her body ached to dance and feel the grass between her toes. The music her pervious master listened to darted in and out of her brain, and she remembered watching the musical Chicago with awe. … And all that jazz. She felt the Violin as though it was truly in the air, and found herself dancing leaning in and out of the beat and fallowing it gracefully almost into the stomach of a violinist. Seeing him there in front of her made the beat break and her heart jump nearly ten feet into the air. “H… hello.” She said quietly, attempting to recover her violent pulse.

Remi waved his arms as he was knocked over by a as of yet unidentified flying object. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Saving his violin as he fell down, he rubbed his head, pushing himself back to his feet and dusting off the dirt. His instrument was thankfully unscathed, but he winced at a scrape on his elbow and sought out the cause, finding a young girl cat. "Watch it, will you? Violin player at work, here!"
Fully dusted, he gathered himself and put on his normal cheerful grin. "Anyway, no harm done." he assured her. "Rupert's okay, so I'm okay." A thought occured to him and he eyed her worriedly. "This isn't your turf, is it? You're not here to chase me out?" She had a collar, it looked like, but you could never tell. "I have to warn you that if you tried, I'd have to fight for justice!"

Alice giggled at the thought that this was her territory, poor boy was fidgeting. “Do I look like I’m full of enough malice to rule a territory? I must say I’m flattered, but I would rather not get my paws dirty with that kind of stuff.” She stretched herself lightly and looked up at him “Rupert? Ah your violin. My cello is named Vivian, but I’m afraid I can’t carry her about everywhere… besides, it would enable my dancing. And dancing will always be first in my book!”Twirling for good mesure she laughed happily. “It was lovely to have music to dance to… its horrid trying to play and dance at the same time, so I thank you… Sir… ?”

Remi looked adamant. "A leader of a territory has to be smart and noble and just, not malicious! That would make the a Bad Guy." Considering that he was a warehouse cat, this seemed somewhat hypocritical, but Remi had either not noticed the shadiness of his own territory or chose to ignore it. He shrugged. "But yeah, I wouldn't wanna run a territory either. Why bother? Everyone would want you to do things for them and all, I'd reather be a good guy flying solo, you know?"
He looked her up and down, and then a grin crept over his face. "Hey, you're musical too? And a string instrument!" Respect creeping into his voice, he said "I've never been dancing with anyone but rupert. I'm not exactly what you'd call a ladies' man." Pausing, he evaluated the statement, then assured her "But I could be if I weren't so busy with Justice!" He didn't want to sound lame or anything, not in front of a fellow strings player. "Remi's the name." Sweeping her a bow, he glanced up at her with a cheeky wink. "And, fellow musician of mine, what, pray tell, is yours?"

Alice was warmed by the formality and respect extruding from the male before her. “I… am Alice.” She said lightly with a curtsy. When he mentioned he was not a ladies’ man she smiled and grinned, walking closer to him and running a paw over his chest. “That I find I cannot believe, you are far too handsome not to be, some girl has to have her claws into you, if not I am very very lucky indeed.” She twirled around him so that she was behind him, just to see what his reaction to her was, she had always been like that, curious as to how much she could get a person to react to her. Not only was that true, oh no, but she was a shameless flirt as well.

Remi flashed her a grin. "Pleasure to meet you, Alice-Cello player." Shrugging languidly, he licked his lips. "Didn't say no one had their claws in me." he said, flicking his tail playfully. "I only said I wasn't a ladies' man." Watching her twirl around, he lifted his violin and played a trill, then set it aside, reaching out to try to catch her.
"I've always wanted to try dancing. Care to show a violinist how to cut a rug?" He had seen Skye dance, but never had the opportunity himself. Now that a fairly friendly face was moving so gracefully around him, Remi couldn't resist the opportunity to snag his first dance like his friend had, and what better time than a moonlit night?

Alice turned into his arms. “Hun if you’re talking about me, I have yet to begin to get my claws into you.” She spun in his arms, finding that he was not the horrid dance partner she had assumed he would be, being a noob to dance and all. “I can show you a lot of things!” she winked and flung herself outward again. What better time to woo a man but in the moonlight. With a grin she dipped backward to the music in her head. It was a lovely night, and the company was nice. The only question was, how sultry could this moonlit adventure become?

Remi laughed. "I don't date strings players as a rule." he said apologetically. "'S a thing of mine. I'm more into flautists, you know?" Dancing as best he could to keep up with her, Remi was more elegant than he could have hoped- He had been watching other people dance and that helped. However, he was still sort of awkward, and things progressed slowly as the two twirled around.
"You mean like adventures?" he asked serenely as the rhythm of their feet sucked him into the dance. "I've had a ton of those already." The moonlight shone around them as he swayed, and he bobbed his head. "You know, since I'm a Good Guy. It's like a requirement."

“Tis a shame, you and I could have made beautiful music together, especially on our adventures.” She laughed and tilted her head back to the sky. She felt young, and willing to try anything. The stars twinkled their song to her, for her. Music filled her lungs until she bust with giggles while the moonlight played with shadows on her face. Some would have called her infatuation with her surroundings fairy drunk, but she could find no such care in the world. She danced in loops, not caring if he was slow or careful or what not, the sky beckoned them to join in the merriment.

Remi moved in and danced with her, laughing, until he collapsed on the ground. After all that spinning, the world spun too, and he looked dizzily up at the night sky. "Bring your Vivian sometime, we can still make beautiful night music." he said, dazed. "You, me, strings, sky? Good stuff." He stared until the starlight stopped moving around in alarming circles, then slowly lifted himself to his feet. "I'm always up for a duet."
Carelessly, he reached over for his violin, playing at her, the park, the moon, and the sky. "S'a nice night for them, anyway. Adventures, that is." He plucked at a few more notes absentmindedly. "Of course, they tend to sneak up on you." He turned to her and grinned. "Or crash into you, as the case may be!"

Alice flashed a brilliant smile and purred contentedly. “I’m your adventure today then? And what is so adventurous regarding this meeting?” She fell gracefully into the grass next to where Remi was a few seconds prior, having a fun time doing nothing at all. She stretched out her full extent and watched the stars twinkle their merriment. Her mind was spinning, for it seemed now since she had left the dreaded home she once had that her life had become something of happiness rather than false smiles. She was saddened to think of her grandmother, and recall of her death, but one must not feel guilty for the pleasures one has later in life. “So this flute player, anyone special?”

Remi tapped his chin. "Well, I've never danced with a girl before." he admitted. "Or anyone, except my violin once." He grinned proudly. "I'm pretty good though, right?"
Stretching, the violinist shrugged. "I can never tell." he said frankly. "She's pretty confusing, I'm guessing this is why Tintin never bothered with all the mushy stuff." Looking up at the stars, he added "Personally, she's sort of an adventure, too. I can never tell what'll happen next around her, you know? She's always different from what I expect. She's gotten into some pretty bad stuff recently, though. I worry about her sometimes, but I think she's strong enough to take what life throws at her and keep on going."
Remembering their first adventure, he added "She's sort of a childhood friend." Remembering their first and many consecutive arguments, he winced and added "Sort of."

Alice smiled at the older boy from the ground, it being the best cushion for the aching muscles in her back. She had been dancing far too much lately. “Well… your alright.” She teased, biting her tongue lightly to keep from giggling.Quietly she closed her eyes and listened to the thoughts flitting not long through her head.
“It seems to me you need to stop worrying about her. She’s the independent type. Needs to sort out what it is that is affecting her on her own. I went through that stage too… when it seems life only throws things at you and then there’s that damn curve ball… all you have to remember is what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” The female opened one lazy golden eye to gaze at him and smirked. “Besides, you seem to be getting along fine without her at this point in time.” It was true; he didn’t seem too bent out of shape about the female he had lost, more like a friend really. Ah well, you could never tell with males like him.

Remi sat on the ground next to her, heaving a sigh and pulling some grass absentmindedly. "I don't really think it helps people to get all dramatic when someone ditches them. So they don't return your feelings, what're you gonna do, kill yourself?" He pulled a face. "Just makes them feel guilty and makes you deceased. And if you spend all your time crying over them, you don't get on with your life. If you just keep moving forward, then you get things done and no one calls you a sissy."
He grimaced. "Anyway, I'm giving her her space. All my worrying is going on up here." Tapping his skull, he added, "I'll be there for her if she needs me, but she's gotta live her own adventure. As for me, whenever life gives me crap, I don't stop to think about it if I can help it. Doesn't mean I don't care, s'just how I cope."
He looked over at her. "Life is all about looking forward. I can sit here and talk your ear off about that flutist and how I don't know where I stand with her and what I felt like when I realized that, or I could hope I figure things out for myself later and think about where I want to be next week, next year. I know which one I'd prefer to focus on."
