As the attack connected Bob's eyes shot open as every muscle in his body contracted simultaneously writhing in pain. His eyes then began to fall shut as his muscles loosened and his body went limp. Time seemed to slow as he fell his vision blurring as he stared up at the captain only for a moment before the darkness engulfed him completely.
"What....Did he do? Why is it so dark?" He thought as the darkness seemed to hug him and wrap him in a cold blanket as his breathing slowed almost coming to a halt as the dormant process began.
After what seemed to be hours of just laying in the darkness Bob's mind stirred,
"What is this?" He thought, the darkness was everlasting he couldn't tell whether his eyes were open all his sense seemed to be dulled. He couldn't see anything, he tried to yell out but couldn't hear a sound or echo. His hands moved around to touch or feel for something but there was nothing around him, he laid in some place devoid of everything.
"What did he do? Did I die for real this time?" The longer he spent in this darkness the harder it was to keep thoughts in his head, he soon couldn't remember what he was thinking....what was happening? His grip on humanity was slipping. Insanity was sinking in as Bob couldn't keep a thought in his head or feel, touch, hear, see, or smell anything.
After what Bob thought was another few days he tried to move or get something. The darkness just seemed to wrap and envelop him more every time he tried to escape it. It was like trying to escape a Chinese finger hold. The more he pulled and yanked away from the darkness trying to escape it and cling to sanity, the tighter the darkness's grip became making it so that there was no way out. So there he lay trapped in it.
"How will I get out?... I'm so tired... Maybe I'll just let it in, only for a bit" He thought as he slipped into the darkness giving up his fight against it.
A cool breeze brushed across Bob's face causing him to rub his eyes as they shot open realizing he just felt something. His vision blurred at first as the light had caught him off guard, he drowsily stood up and gaze outward as his eyes narrowed looking upon a barren wasteland. Bodies of dead warriors were decorated upon the empty desert with the sand painted crimson, "What is this place?" He said as he began to walk still looking around wondering were the hell he was. Bob smiled as he saw a speck in the distance that was slowly getting closer. Life, something alive that Bob could ask directions from so he could hopefully get back to the training ground and reach his shikai. Bob yawned as he closed his eyes, trying to wake up so that he could meet his guest and be alert and focussed. When he opened them he stared upon what appeared to be
Death that stood around 7'2. The creature loomed over him as Bob cleared his throat.
"Who are you?" He said looking upon his zanpakuto spirit.
