Boneshadow hissed softly as he scampered down the branch of the tree, landing lightly on his feet as he dropped down. Something interestingly shiny had caught his attention "Che..what do you think snipe? Maybe money eh, hee hee or maybe more bottle caps" he snickered as his little black and grey rat chittered back at him, the small creature climbing down from his shoulder to slip into the tall grass. "Well then lets find out eh!" he grinned mistceviously as he approached the hidden shiny, eyes wide as he realized it was no bottle cap this time, but an entier bottle, intact and full of..of something?
Bones by nature loved to dig and explore, loved to dig up macabre things and drag them back to his den high up in the thick tree, a little knot hole he'd hollowed out, making it wide and deep over the years. Naturally he thought himself clever, heh or at least sarcastic enough to be seen by others as clever.

 Sound was a glorious thing. It allowed her to ability to keep track of the nearby kimera without having to peek out from the opaque veil of leaves that surrounded her. With a twitch of her ear she looked up from her grooming for a moment, as if envisioning where the kimera would be standing if he were in plain sight. Still nowhere for her to be concerned about, she returned to cleaning the blood off her paws from her last meal.
The tri-tailed hebsiune was currently lounging in a cradle of branches high up in a nearby tree, and hidden from the world by multitude of leaves. Not that she was an advent climber or anything, just that the world became a much easier place when one had other means of getting around. She looked up again when she heard a voice, crimson eyes drifting to where her mind figured he should be, looking but not really seeing.
For a brief moment she couldn't help but wonder if the sorry excuse for a scientist that creator her was still alive, if maybe she could have x-ray vision. Apparently that wasn't in the cards for her.
With a sigh she shifted slightly, enough to keep the blooding flowing comfortably before returning to her grooming. She was hiding, from the world in general today. 'Well not the whole world....' Just the ones that made her become and advent fan of some human guy named Darwin, and want to carry out his work. She'd initially stuck her nose up at human religion, but she couldn't deny the guy had some great ideas going.
No...what she wanted was a challenge. Some company with a brain would be a nice start.

The little rat snipe chittered and danced around bones legs for a few moments, seeming as if it were trying to get its companions attention before giving up. The tiny creature seeming to sigh, sitting there and resigning itself to cleaning its whiskers, running his paws over his face again and again, large ears moving about like mini satellite detectors scanning for all sorts of sounds..maybe a meal or too. What really caught his attention was a scent, fresh and sweet, coppery and..an..blood. The rodents head snapping forwards nose twitching frantically as he sniffed about and then in a sudden burst dashed off hunting down the smell that led to food..Old or not he would eat it.
"Hee hee, look it this! Chee..A new treasure to add to my collection eh, now maybe if I can get it open" the ryu shifted the bottle a bit, digging it out of its hole in the dirt before dragging it to stand upright. Admiring the bright shiny thing, ahh now if only he had thumbs, he hardly wanted to have to break it open, no that would ruin the shinyness of it. Then again the bottles contents..mmn.."What'd you think snipe. Mmn, snipe?" boneshadow glanced around after a moment, realizing his chittering chirping companion was no longer about "Tsk, be damned that rodent always taking off when I find new things." bones huffed to himself taking off in a rush to follow the rats trail. His nose was hardly his strong point, and neither were his ears, depending on sensitive whiskers and wonderful sight to get about. He'd been with snipe since birth though, and knew that scent better then he even knew his own.

Mashaka's ear twitched once again at a very very faint noise, and paused mid-lick, eyes wandering downward, trying to see what was below all the branches. Whatever the creature was, it was either very small, or very very good at being exceptionally quiet.
There it was again, so faint the hebisune would've thought she was hearing things if she didn't put her utmost faith in her ears. Intrigued, she was about to teleport down, and possibly scare the creature out of it's skin before she heard something else, this time a much larger creature judging from the noise. Perhaps she would be intruding on someone's hunt? Not that, that ever stopped her before.
As whatever it was drew closer, Mashaka picked out her target, a low hanging branch, only a few meters from the ground. Deeming whatever was coming her way close enough her eyes slipped shut and in an instant she had disappeared, vanished from cradle of branches above, and re-appeared suddenly on the desired branch. As she was now in plain view, her eyes roamed and landed on the approaching kimera with an almost bored expression. There was target number one....where was the second one? Squinting slightly, her eye sight not the best in the day, she continued to discreetly search for whatever else was present while keeping up her disinterested facade.

"Snipe..Snipe you annoying miscreant where are you?" bones huffed softly to himself, scanning left and right to no avail, no sight of the little devil. The thick grasses didn't help at all, while they barely hid him, they perfectly hid his furry little companion. Bones gaze lingering for a moment on a particular spot near a tree, a small full body shiver running down his long spine as he stepped back slightly. For some reason that tree, just that one, gave him a foreboding feeling. "Honestly bones, your loosing it...chee..frightened of trees" the ryu groaned as he whispered harshly to himself.
He shook his head fiercely trying to rid the feeling and re-focus on following the small rats trail, nose back to the grass and dirt as he followed paw over paw more cautiously then before. The faint muffled sound of tiny padded paws on the earth causing him to dart away from his original path, and then just as suddenly skid to a stop. "Wh-what the.." bones sniffed the air again, his ears and his nose telling him two different stories. "Why the little devil, heh hes trying to run me in a circle." bones had to give his friend credit, the little rat had backtracked his own path, re-running it to try and throw bones nose off.
Snipe's nose twitched softly as he watched boneshadow's confusion turn into glee, just another fun game of hide and seek for the ryu. For the rat though..he had other purposes. Small pink tail twitching and writhing behind him, snipe carefully scrabbled his way up the tree, climbing higher until he was above the delicious scent. The rat turning and looking down upon the splotchy tan colored kimera, little nails dug in deep to keep his precarious upside down perch. The small beady dark eyes blinked rapidly a few times taking in the whole picture. Not a meal, but one who had 'had' a meal. A true shame for the scavenger who had hoped to at least come across some scraps. The small rat chittering sharply in anger, hoping to catch the kimeras attention, well if there was no food he could at least have fun..

The female hummed to herself briefly as her eyes followed the other kimera from a top her vantage point. She could make out the faint sound of his voice as he spoke to himself and she smirked as she managed to hear the last bit. 'Afraid of trees? One should fear what lurks behind the veil of leaves instead, what a silly fool.' Not one to speak, let alone think out-loud, she could only watch on with amusement as the ryu continued to track whatever he was tracking. Perhaps she was right, maybe she was intruding on a hunt.
It was when another sound pierced the incessant low rambling of the kimera below did Mashaka's expression change, ear swiveling to the source of the sound, before she looked back over her shoulder to the small rat that was chittering at her. The hebisune swiveled her head back properly, eying the small kimera before a sneer found itself on her face. While the expression changed to one of dis-interest she turned back to watch the larger kimera down below. She slowly began making her way out as far out on the branch as she felt safe to give herself a better view, tails lashing out behind her in the manner of a curious cat, waiting to pounce.

Snipe chittered softly, huffing in his own mouse like way as the female ignored him completely, at first she'd seemed interested, but now! Pfft..well forget her then. The small black ratlike creature squeaking rather angrily as it followed her down, the squeaks stopping abruptly while he watched her move. Ahh..so that's what she was doing? As much as he did love bones, what he loved more was seeing bones in trouble. The female looked rather fun to him, as though she were evilly plotting something and snipe was not about to be the one to ruing what may turn out to be a hilarious event.
Making his way slowly onto the edge of the branch, watching eagerly with wide eyes as he could see what was coming.
Bones ears twisted sharply, his whole body following the sound of a small chirp coming from that evil feeling tree. Tilting his head curiously clockwise and back, tail lashing out behind him as bones sunk down low. He didnt like the tree, not the scent, or the feel of it, certainly not the sound that had come from it! Even if he did know it to be only snipe hiding up there. "Silly little rat you gave yourself away" bones chuckled deeply, gray furred lips pulling back to reveal his fanged smile. Belly scrapping the ground as he crept closer, paw by paw, he knew snipe was hiding up there somewhere, he just couldn't see him, couldn't see anything through those thick leaves and tall branches. "You know, when I catch you I'm going to make you open the bottle..mmnhmm..punishment for leading me about on this chase" bones hissed seemingly talking to himself, completely unaware of the much larger creature lurking far above in the branches, something other then his friend snipe.

Taking the smaller creature's new found silence as approval, she pushed the small rodent's presence to the back of her mind and resumed her plan. This hebisune didn't mind an audience, so long as they didn't distract her from her plans.
Inching out onto her branch a bit more, she inwardly cringed as it creaked lightly in protest to her weight. Settling more of her weight farther back she looked around, hearing her prey mumbling to himself before seeing him once again. It was now or never as the other kimera drew near, apparently mistaking her for some rat. She nearly scoffed at the idea as she prepared herself, twisting her body and lining up her shot before almost delicately hopping from her perch.
During her fall she'd managed to avoid the larger branches, although one could clearly hear the snapping of smaller twigs during her descent. It was the rapidly approaching massive branch that had her worried. Too late to avoid it, she slipped her eyes close and vanished without a trace once again. She re-appeared again, this time several meters above the Ryu and in clear sight. Throwing her arms out wide, she flexed her claws with a snarl as she let gravity take over once more, pulling her ever closer to landing on top of her target.

Boneshadow caught the sound at the last second, the visual coming next, followed by the scent. Golden black eyes widening impossibly large, fixing on the target that was coming down right on top of him, all of his muscles tensing tight as a chord as his body writhed up close beneath him. The ryu coiling back like a startled snake, jaws wide and sharp bright fangs showing, not having time to do anything more then let out a high pitched yowling hisss, an odd strangled seeming noise for him.
He hadnt registered her before, though damn it he knew there had been something wrong with that tree! That evil evil tree...not the tree but what lay in it. Bones knew that he would kick himself for this later, this single miscalculation, from a fun simple game to defending himself against an attacker.
The ryu let out a loud 'Ooff' Followed by a sharp yelp as he felt the heavy multicolored body land on top of him. Writhing beneath the she creatures weight as he tried to squirm out from beneath her, all to worried about potential dangers from the teeth and claws that were at the others disposal. He was not about to become a meal just becasue he'd been following that silly chittering rat...who..by the way, was going to find itself in soooo much trouble!!

There it was.
That beautiful startled look was all she really needed to drop the charade. The moment she'd made contact with the other kimera she'd drawn her claws back in, not wanting to risk actually harming the other and breaking out into a real fight. That being said she did little to lessen the actual impact as she landed, practically using the Ryu as a living pillow to cushion her fall.
She didn't want to harm the other kimera, but her own well being took priority in the grand scheme of things.
As she'd hit she'd let her body go limp to minimize the damage, practically collapsing fully on the other beneath her. She'd decided not to move right away, to let the thrill sink in and to allow her heart rate to settle back down. She did however manage to raise her head and grin at the other. While she didn't speak a word her eyes seemed to sparkle with amusement as if to say;
'I got you~'

Snipes honestly just couldnt watch, though it was hilariously funny, hiding his eyes beneath pink little paws as he ducked his head down, waiting for the telltale thud and squeal's that would be sure to follow soon. Chittering only slightly his own ratty version of a chuckle.
Bones eyes couldn't have gotten wider if he'd seen a ghost, total shock and awe spread across his face in a rather ditzy expression that just screamed 'Oh shiz did not see that coming!' "Oof!" back and body fur and tail hitting the leaf and grass patterned ground in a pile of knocked back dizy limbs, choosing to just go limp in order to save himself whatever pain might be in store, knowing that fighting back if he was indeed being attacked would only get himself into deeper trouble.
He couldnt imagine what he'd done to deserve this sort of fate! Pounced upon from high above by a..ahh..a what in the seven hells exactly had pounced on him? He'd only seen a blurr of black and orange and golden furr before he'd squeezed his eyes closed in anticipation, and everything had been moving far to fast after that..
"Oish..gaah your heavy! What in the heck are you doing anyways..aagh.." tossing a glare in her direction as everything stopped and the creature sat on him like a rather heavy lump. His gaze faltering slightly at the grin she held..she was smiling? Everything about her was smiling, happy, amused, laughing at him...oish indeed...he'd now gone from being possible prey to being the butt of a joke perhaps? "Excuse me..but..uffh if you dont mind, I'm no pillow! And quit your snickering" she wasnt making a sound but he could still hear it in his head..
