He'd long since lost count of the days as they passed. Traveling with Shyn had been enjoyable. Not just because of the nights they spent together, but the days as well. The dangers of the Undardark had been poor and few, but all the same they had added a spice to the trip. Ryn had only grown to admire Shyn all the more over the course of the troubles and travels. No no...the days had merged into simple periods of waking, sexing, and traveling. He simply had not gotten enough of her... payment for his presence on her trip had long since been forgotten about. It was a distant memory, sort of like a forgotten 'Hello'. It hardly mattered to him so long as they were together, and the amount? It wasn't important enough. Ryn could easily recall the amount of kisses they had shared in contrast to the amount of coins she owed him.

The last few days though...Shyn had seemed...off. Ryn felt a uneasy sense of distance on Shyn's part. He was quite unwilling to accept this, so as much as Shyn had sought to push him away, he had rather aggressively pushed back to keep her close. He was still of the mind to keep her close. Even after all this time. Nothing felt so -right- as it did when he was with her. At times when he woke before her, he had merely laid beside her and gazed upon her face for hours. She was beautiful, but this was more then just beauty that drew him. How could he possibly explain it? Ryn had spent the entier trip just trying to figure it out for himself. Each small effort that Shyn made to seperate them gave him a unpleasent jolt within. He felt... well, to put it simply, it felt like some animal within him was growling and reaching aggressively to grasp out at her. Only a small part of him worried that perhaps he was acting too possessive or too aggressive. he couldn't help it though. His desire for Shyn had not waned in the least over the course of the trip. Just holding her settled a sense of ease and comfort on him. He never smiled so much as when his head was nestled into her hair or neck or cleavage. He never felt more comfortable when he was alone with her. He never felt a sense of utter trust with anyone before now.

Shyn had led them off into a tunnel to rest their final night before reaching the city. He tended to the lizards as she tended to setting up camp. As he checked buckles and inspected the lizards for any possible wounds or irritations, he snuck glances at Shyn. He could smell the stew from where he stood, but his hunger was not for that food. She looked beautiful in the small glow of the cooking fire. Ryn gave one of the straps a final jerk to ensure it was anchored securely to the piton he had hammered into the stone so the lizards would not wander off. Reassured he'd done his job right, he began to amble his way towards Shyn's kneeling form. Her words gained her a faint shaking of his head. Ryn dropped down to one knee, and reached his hand to lightly place it upon the back of Shyn's neck so he could gently rub at the smooth skin there.

"If you leave at mid-day then I shall as well. I'm not leaving your side while your out here in the wilds. Even this close to the city it could be dangerouse. I'm here to protect you Shyn, and I won't leave while the job is undone." He wanted to be nearer to her. His amber gold eyes lingered on the female while ignoreing the food she was warming. he had the desire to pull her over onto his knee just so he could embrace her...but he did not want to be the cause of their last bit of food burning. Ryn had chosen to ignore the comments about her family. He had done his best to brush off and act unconcerned when she mentioned them. Though it did sort of sting a bit. Shyn had shared her background with him, he needed to share in turn.

Ryn's eyes shifted to the fire. It's light wasn't half as damageing or blinding as it was normally for their kind when in concern to him. Years spent with lit candles had given him a bit more tolerance for the lights glow. So now he glazed at the embers and pursed his lips together in a unhappy expression. "Your family lingers on the edge of your mind no matter what we are doing. From sleeping to love making. I can tell it troubles you. I suppose I ought to share some of my own family history with you. It's unfair for you to let me know so much and for me to continue misleading you."

"You're a fool if you stay with me..." Shyn stated absently, her eyes flickering up to the lovely male she had been travelling with. There could be no illusions any more that she could hide behind, she was fond of him. She knew it, and she was fairly certain he had to have gotten the idea as well. "You'll probably die if you don't take this chance to leave..." She didn't want him to go. She'd keep him forever if she thought she could get away with it.

"Of course my family is in my thoughts.. a house of sorcerers and assassins.. what do you really think the chances of avoiding them for too great a length of time are...?" She shook her head, moving the food away from the direct heat of the fire but leaving it close enough so that heat would allow it to carry on cooking. "How could I forget such a threat for too long... you are incorrect on one point though.." The curvy woman got herself up to her feet and moved over to Ryn... "There are times when I can think of nothing but you... you do yourself too little credit as a lover Ryn..." She let herself flop down against him, wanting to be closer to him again. She doubted she would ever get enough of just being able to touch him.

"Misleading me..?" She lifted her reddy brown eyes to peer up at him. "In what way..?" There was a tinge of uncertainty to her tone, but she stayed close to him, seemingly unwilling to let an untruth remove her now. "If you have some wish to clear the air, I suggest you do so... I'm.. curious... and yo have my word I will not let it rest until I know of this.... family history that you have kept from me so far..." What on earth was he going to say...?

"I have been a fool for less worthwhile things then staying near you Shyn." Ryn quipped with a smile that he just did not feel at the moment. Her constant reminders of looming death were haveing an effect despite his determination not to let it. They had not been discovered yet after all, and he wanted to make as good use of time as possible to be with her. But...death really was a unpleasent encounter he wished to avoid.

"Well, I am counting on the fact that you -are- a part of that family and are a very capable woman to keep me safe. Or at the very least to give me a heads up when the threat is near enough to atually be a looming shadow." Ryn drew his eyes from the fire and blinked the lids over the amber circles to banish the searing light image burned over his sight. "I'm not dead yet, I'm not dieing, and nothing more dangerouse then a monster is most likely anywhere near us right now. It's my life isn't it? I can risk it for you if I want." Ryn reached a hand up towards Shyn as her curved form contended with the light burns in his sight for dominace. Happily her form was winning out and he reached to pull her near to him after she flopped down. "I'm only a good lover because I'm actually interested in the female I'm with." He replied with a faint grin.

That grin quickly faded as Shyn would nudge, and more then insist that he come clean after half begining his confession. "Well...the first thing I should mention is that I am not a simple commoner." Starting with the simplest and easiest truth should make it all the more easy to confess up to the larger truths. Or so Ryn hoped. "I am a noble son from a House. Mother had my life more or less planned out, and as it did not take into account my own desires I sort of ran off." Ryn's shoulders shrugged and he glanced towards where one of the Lizards was busy clawing at the stone floor. No..admitting the simple truth was not making this any easier.

"I am from House Zaundar. In case you are unfamilar with the name, it is the Seventh ruleing house of Sshamath. Mother holds the Seat of Necromancy and intended to pass both the House and the Seat to me, as her only acceptable heir." Ryn pulled his gaze back to Shyn and waited for a few moments. How would she take this news? he hoped with ignorance and more questions. Then again, he did have the impression that Shyn traveled a bit, and the blasphemouse city of Sshamath was probably one she had at least heard of somewhere.

“Well now... that explains why you’re such a little rebel, doesn’t it..?” Shyn stated, curling her arms a little more fully around Ryn’s neck. For a moment a look of surprise had flittered across her face, initially when her lover had told her he could actually be placed on a more level footing with her, he was of good blood, but then again when he told her where it was he actually hailed from... that was indeed a surprise, and answered a few of the ponderings she had had over the passing weeks they’d been together. Her wild and rebellious lover... he was actually the heir to a fairly rebellious house... well now, didn’t that just make perfect sense.

For a time she held her silence, clearly just letting this new information meander around her thoughts. She knew more now, it was almost sad she hadn’t cared to ask him more insistently about him before now, but... at the same time, what did it matter to her...? She couldn’t really care much less about who his past, and who his family were. That had no impact on her, she wasn’t with him for advancement or even for sense and logic, she was with him because every moment they spent together sent a thrill the like of which she had never felt before rushing through here. That was why she was here... that was why he was here as well she was sure.

“I don’t suppose it really matters anyway...” She stated flippantly at last. “It’s not as if our family’s are really going to change what we want to do, as we’ve both run away for whatever reason...” he ran and she was hiding... what a pair they made, victims of unwanted status and authority. “Still, it’s nice to know I suppose...” She stated, lifting a slightly amused face to look at him again. “But you have no need to look so concerned, my heretical noble. I have no desire to turn you in, return you to your family or even order you from my presence... in fact, after we’ve eaten I think we should make a point of putting this entirely too awkward conversation behind us...” She smiled, leaning up to brush her lips once over his cheek. “I am far too fond of you to really care about your family any way... they have had no weight behind my decisions to lay with you in the past, and I don’t see why that should change now..” a saucy smile tugged at her lips. She was fond of him, it was true... and probably went deeper than just... fond... but dear Goddess was she not planning on mentioning that just now.

Ryn chuckled softly in his throat at Shyn's words. "Yes. I am not a typically subserviant male am I?" He remarked while peering down upon Shyn. He could not help but tighten his own arms about her slender form and hold her closer. Even after all the time they had spent together lately, he still felt as if he was going to lose sight of her the moment he let her go. He saw the flicker of surprise that danced across her beautiful face, and he was relieved when she did not seem to follow that surprised look with a unpleasent one. Well...after how well they had been getting along, and the bits he had learned of her in reguards to her family. Ryn was not completely surprised by this reaction. Still, he did find himself a little concerned when Shyn would take so long to mull over the information. Now...he knew it was a bit of a awkward situation. Him being from a city that practiced ways so atypical to the rest of the underdark. He had never thought it was a good idea to share his history with anyone else before. But Shyn...he just wanted her to know a bit more about him. He wanted her to see that there was more here then just her family. His too proved to be a frustration in his life.

The flippant remark that she finally came back with though...Ryn could not help but crack out into a wide grin."So true...so true." He spoke with mild amusement. So then...it seemed to him that she hardly gave a damn about his own little secret. Perhaps now she would better understand his own uncaring attitude in reguards to her family troubles? Ryn tightened his grip on Shyn once more, just to assure himself that she was going to be true to her words and not seek to part ways now. "Well for that I am quiet greatful. It would really put a damper on this whole enjoyable trip if you were inclined to do any of those things." Ryn was more then agreeable to putting the conversation behind them, and as a point to his agreement, he leaned down to press his lips briefly to Shyn's own.

"Consider this conversation finished then. Now at least you can understand my own point of view when it comes to disreguarding your family and complications now. Now then..." Ryn's head lifted to glance at the cave about them. "I believe we were getting on about a meal now yes? Then perhaps a little comfort in each others arms?"

"I can understand why you seem so... unworried by my family, I suppose any way... but part of me will continue to fear them showing up, you'll just have to accept that..." She smiled slightly again, "however you I will do what I can to stop bringing them up, only one of us needs to worry." She lifted her shoulder in a slight shrug, she was seemingly unworried now, whatever had ailed her before had passed. Her family had not found her yet and while she was certain they would in time, for now she could at least enjoy herself. She would deal with whatever happened when it happened... if she had to leave she could do so... or at the very least she would keep telling herself that she'd be able to do so.

"Conversation over, worries pushed away, yes yes, that will do..." She smiled a little more, shifting her arms a little more fully around Ryn's neck to steal a second kiss from his lips, and then a third slightly firmer one. For a moment it looked as though she would lean in and steal another kiss, but she pulled back a moment later and pushed her hands against his shoulders using them to help her find her feet once more. "Food... yes, I was working on that wasn't I... can't be letting myself get distracted or anything." With a deliberate little sway of her hips Shyntyl stepped her way neatly back over to the fire where she had set down their plates, cutlery and had obviously left the food warming through.

She would have been more than happy to stay settled with him and lose herself in his arms and lips right there, but this was more fun... she loved teasing him, just as he did her, they had such a fun relationship if that was what it was... yes... this was more than just a dalliance now, they definitely had some measure of care for one another. Possibly more than simply a little, but it was hard to tell, she was fond of him anyway, she'd admitted that slightly to herself.

"So.. I think our food is about ready.. I hope you're hungry..." Her tone was rather light and cheerful as she spoke, a smile touching her lips still. Dinner was going to be good.

Shyn's slight humor over his lineage brought a smile to Ryn's lips. She understood his situation about as well as he understood hers...and they both had a attitude concerning it that was alike. Who gave a damn? Ryn lifted and placed one hand gently on Shyn's shoulder and he rubbed his thumb over the curve thoughtfully. "Agreed." He murmured to her, though he did not quiet clarify what it was he was agreeing to. When Shyn shifted her arms a bit more firmly around his neck and stole that second kiss, his lips followed after her's at it's breaking. Such lips. So soft and passionate. He was going to drream of them for the rest of his life he was certain.

Ryn's eyes followed the sway of Shyn's hips in a appreciative lingering gaze. Even if he were to deny his lustful interest in her body, he could still find reasons to gaze upon her. She was graceful, like a perfect shadow. Ryn gave his head a small shake when she spoke of being hungry. "Oh..I am indeed." Ryn remarked in a playful tone. He finally moved to follow Shyn over near to the cooking fire so he could collect his own helping of food. With a soft chuckle, he lowered himself down to the rocky floor, and he gestured with his free hand to Shyn. "Come, sit against me. Let me spoil you a bit and feed you." He murmured.

"Spoil me you say..? Well, I have to say I do like attention, especially from my favourite not-so-noble..." She served their food, and handed him the bowl which held him, moving over to settle herself don on the floor beside him once again, tucking her small frame neatly against his and finding that she still liked it just as much as she had at first. A very content sigh past her lips as she rested herself there. It was all good... they understood one another, she had never found that sort of connection with anyone outside the very special male she had befriended at school... Tsab... she would have to look him up again.

Just for a moment she found a real longing for her oldest friends company... he would have loved Ryn... he really would... probably too much, and he'd have been horribly disappointed that she wouldn't share. But she would not... she was still painfully aware that this wouldn't... couldn't last... but Goddess did part of her wish it could. They were a well matched pair... and they had between them the kind of affection that mos Drow failed to understand. Even if it was a little on the physical side still.

"I think we can pass the evening together... I can see little else that we need to do... the town is of course not long off... I'm... glad you'll stay with me... I didn't wish to part ways with you..." It was very true... she did not wish to be away from him for any time if she could help it, though that thought still made her uncomfortable. It wasn't ever going to be easy for such an independant woman to be reliant on anyone else, even a little bit. She... really did care about him though.

"We'll have to think about finding somewhere to stay..."

Ryn closed his eyes and held his portion of food in his lap. Rarely did he feel the urge to thank some otherwordly power for his good fortune. Rarely did he feel the need to beseech another for some form of favor. This day was one of the very few that Ryn came close to doing just that. When he felt Shyn leaning against him, he lifted his arm and draped it easily over her shoulder. Though he was unquestionably hungry...he wanted nothing more then to savor this quiet moment. They were certain not to come too often.

She spoke. Making half plans for their next moves. She made a good deal of sense of course, and her gratitude over his determination to stay with her filled him with a sense of content. Never had he been so intent on something. Well..aside from his personal decision that he was not going to be a mage...and that he was going to obtain his own freedom. Ryn picked at his food and glanced down at Shyn beside him.

"Why?" He found himself asking her. Ryn glanced down at his food and casually took a few bites. "I have no intentions of leaving your side. But why find a place to stay? Why not keep wandering? Why not travel? Unless...you..." Ryn paused and shifted a little more against Shyn. "Unless...there is an appeal in perhaps...chooseing a place to be ours? Together?"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 26, 2010 10:18 pm

Shyn couldn’t help but turn slightly surprised eyes on the Ryn at that statement. A place together...? They both seemed to be such wandering, fickle souls that the notion had to be almost laughable, didn’t it...? Yet... here she was thinking it... and here he was suggesting it... and she wasn’t laughing. It wasn’t a horrible idea either... the two of them being together... staying together... there was a part of her, the irritating realistic part of her that knew that no matter what, it could never last... but the strange, more flighty part of her that she had worked for years to push away told her that it couldn’t hurt to try, could it...?

It could. If it went horribly wrong it could hurt a lot, but physically and emotionally, but settled against Ryn in the dark little cavern they had chosen that evening she actually began to think that, as much as she hated pain in any and all of it’s forms, that it might not be a bad thing to try... she could face it if the worst happened. She’d faced discomfort before, she’d lost people dear to her... it had to be worth the risk to have even a few more weeks with someone she felt so strongly about, didn’t it...? She should probably answer his question... she had been quiet for quite some time now, simply lifting the occasional piece of her food to her lips.

“I think I tired of travelling. It’s been... my life for a long enough time now that the sight of a new place, a new city no longer brings a rush of joy and excitement at the potential for work and fun, merely the resignation that I will once again have to claw my way into any form of social network once again, only to leave more than likely only a few days after I find success...” It was true, living out of sight for the most part made knowing anyone for too long rather dangerous. She was taking a risk with Ryn, but Goddess was the risk ever worth it.

“Though the idea seems almost unnatural I have to admit it does have some merit, I had thought as much myself... somewhere we could just settle for a while... maybe not for too long, but for a time. Not having to worry about finding food, not having to think about where we need to go next, or what time is the safest to travel...” He turned slightly to rub the side of her face against Ryn’s shoulder. “Somewhere that was ours, even for a moment... I think I like the idea quite a lot...” And she did... the more she thought about it the more reason she could see to follow the notion through. Besides... her family would take longer to find them if they settled... it was a strange fact, but they would never look in a real abode for the fleeing assassin. She never stayed in one place for more than a few days... she was too sensible.

“As long as the idea doesn’t repulse you I can’t say that I’d mind it...” She stated again, flicking her eyes over to the entrance of the cave for a moment. Had she heard something...? No... it was just the scuttling of some little cave dwelling creature. She settled again, her temple once again falling to rest against the males shoulder. “I like the idea a lot...”

"Shyn'chev" Ryn murmured her name with the endearing 'beloved' attached to it. "No part of any idea that leads to us staying together could ever repulse me." Ryn shifted a bit, as Shyn had lifted her head, and moved to better hold her against himself. His arm curled around Shyn, so he could gently stroke his fingers up and down her side. With the warmth of the cave and the close comfort of this female...he felt drowsy and content.

"A nice two story stone house." Ryn murmured softly while staring off at the wall, though it was not the wall he was seeing in his minds eye. "Perhaps a low stone wall surrounding the front yard...a upstairs bedroom like a loft..and a mushroom garden in the back?" He tilted his head a bit to pluck a small kiss atop Shyn's head. "Do you know anything about gardening by the way? Because I certainly don't." His lips quirked as the images of fancy played through his head. They were noble children. Drow born into lives of privilege and luxury. Such a simple home style life seemed impossible for the likes of them. They'd be miserable, or feel like they deserved better. Yet, Ryn could not help but think that as long as Shyn was with him, He would be content enough. "I could probably...find a mundane job somewhere. If we went to one of the smaller cities alongside the glimmersea I could do..I don't know..do you suppose fishing is hard?"
