Today was going to be a good day. Chura, the heir to the cheetah coalition that his mother and he had founded months ago, had decided that today would be his day off. As of late, he had been talking to his mother quite a bit about the coalition, and some possible changes that the two of them had in mind. So far, it seemed like quite a few of them were going to come into play, and it would probably help the coalition stay more like one big family in the long run. While the green cheetah personally liked some of his mother's original ideas, he had to admit that the newer ones were just as good, and were probably much more lax on all the cheetahs as a whole.

Taking a look up into the dull gray sky, Chura sighed some. For this being his day off, it sure was very drab and boring out here. It even looked like some gray clouds were rolling in. Never a good sign... At least when one wanted his off day to be bright and sunny. Still, he would enjoy it just like he had planned. He wouldn't let good 'ole Mother Nature ruin his day for him... Not as long as he was in charge of it.

It was going to be a good day, and that was that.

The dark clouds rolling through the sky made Tiriel'ia tremble whenever she looked up at them. Bad storms were not her favorite things. Most loud things weren't, actually, but especially not storms. She hoped a desperate hope that they were merely dark clouds, and nothing more. If a storm came, what would she do? She was quite far from any form of shelter, and she was walking alone.

The cheetah was walking on a flattened path through the long grasses, head low and ears back, worry etched on her features. Indigo eyes flitted across the ground, looking anywhere but at the sky. As long as she didn't look at the sky, maybe the clouds would go away? As long as she kept looking at the grass, and at that green cheetah in the dist-

...Green cheetah?

Tiriel lifted her head, lips parting with surprise at seeing another cheetah so far away from the heart of the Duma'chama. It was almost a welcome sight, but at the same time, her worry got the best of her. What if the male wasn't a part of the Coalition...? Oh, no! She was white on green grass, and perfectly visible. There was no place to hide!

It was going to be a bad day.

Golden orbs on the face of the green cheetah watched the rolling clouds above. His ears swiveled around some, listening to how the wind seemed to be picking up just a bit. Was it really going to storm? Right now? Today of all days? Sure, it was good for the coalition, as it hadn't rain in a while. A lot of the border flowers were starting to wilt, and they could really use a much needed pick me up. Still though.... Why did it have to decide to try and storm now...?

Shaking his head, Chura tore his eyes away from the massive gray mass above him. Instead, something else caught his fancy. Out in the distance, a white and gray cheetah stood out in the tall grass, standing out quite well against it. Chura, being the white fanatic that he was, instantly became interested. She looked... Familiar... But he couldn't place from where. Quite curious now, he turned his body around and began to walk over to her, his ears still swiveling around to listen to the picking up wind.

Oh, no.

OH, NO.

He was walking towards her!

What to do, what to do...?! She wasn't prepared for that type of situation. No one had ever taught her self-defense, or any proper sort of way to fight. But why did she need to know any of that? The Duma'chama was a very safe place. But now, more than ever, she wished she had learned SOME way to defend herself. There were some basic instinctual fighting moves that came to mind, but the thought of acting them out made her neck feel constricted and her chest feel cold.

Claws digging nervously into the ground, Tiriel'ia watched the green cheetah approach her, as if in slow motion. Truth be told, he was moving rather quickly for walking pace; but that came with being a cheetah.

The adolescent's frame was trembling with anxiety and nerves and her ears had begun twitching uncontrollably. Teeth clenching against themselves, she braced herself, preparing for the worst. But maybe...It wouldn't be what she thought? Maybe he would be a nice cheetah?

As that thought passed through her head, there was an explosive crack of thunder. Tiriel'ia screamed and threw herself to the ground, arms clutching the top of her head. And there she stayed, trembling at length and eyes shut as tightly as possible.

Jumping out of his fur almost too literally, Chura's ears suddenly swiveled around as he heard a high pitched scream, his eyes grown to a wide and wild state. Skittering over a few feet in the grass, looking for the source of the screech, the green cheetah soon realized it was the adolescent cheetah he had been walking over to. Now filled with worry for one of his own kind, his legs sprung into action, racing over the crouching cheetah.

Badump, badump, badump..

His heart was racing, faster than his legs were sprinting. He could hear his heartbeat pounding all throughout his head. Golden orbs exposed by his eyelids being flung open by the quickness of the wind, Chura dug his claws into the ground, grasping onto anything as he tried to slow down and round the white and gray cheetah.

BADUMP, BADUMP, BADUMP..

"Are you alright?!", his voice shot out, his head jolting around to see if there was anyone else around, as well as up at the sky, checking on the current status of the dark gray clouds.

The echo of thunder rumbled over the savanna and through the far-off mountains, rumbling and rumbling, then whispering and whispering, quieter every moment. When it reached windy silence once again, Tiriel breathed a sigh of relief, but still held her paws over her face. Then, she heard another frightening sound.

A voice.

Jerking her paws away from her face in terror to look up at the one who had addressed her, the adolescent's jaw dropped a little and she stared.

The male was righttttt in front of her! SO CLOSE! She was panicking.

But another part of her was raging with doubts. Somehow, she felt like she knew that cheetah. Had she seen him? From afar? But from where? Ugh! Her memory! Why?!

"Y--! ...Y--!" the cheetah stammered, eyes like saucers as she gaped up at the male from where she lay. "...Yes!" she finally managed to squeak.

She then proceeded to pray speedily to the GODS to make her disappear.

Not seeing the reaction on her soft female face, Chura's dark ears flicked back as he heard her squeaky yes. Instantly, he could feel his heart slow down, his spirits lifting. Whether this cheetah was a part of the coalition or not, just to hear that she was alright and seemingly safe made the green cheetah's day.

"Oh good.. Okay.... Thank the heavens you're alright.." His breath was still super shaky, and legs still trembled beneath him. Still, it was all better now, and the thunder seemed to of stopped, at least for the time being.

Finally taking a glance down at the frightened female, he stepped back as soon as he saw just how WIDE her eyes were. She looked utterly TERRIFIED and like she just wanted to sprint right away. Golden orbs blinked a bit, his shaking paws taking a few more steps back.

"I'm sorry... I.. I didn't mean to scare you.... Really.. I just.... Just got worried.. Is all.. Ribbit...."

Had that come out? Really?! He had said 'ribbit' since he was just a cub and had lost his mother! He shook his head some, smacking his face with his paw, both embarrassed and ashamed at himself.

Oh.

He wasn't going to hurt her...? He was...Okay? He was nice?

Saying "thank the heaves you're alright" seemed like an okay thing to say. If someone wanted to hurt you, they wouldn't say that beforehand.

...Would they?

Heart still pounding with nervousness, Tiriel swallowed hard and blinked rapidly. She adjusted herself and slowly stood up straight, though her head was still bent and her eyes kept averting themselves. She cast a few quick glances over the cheetah, her mind taking in his green coat and all his markings, imprinting them into her memory. He did seem familiar, but she didn't know him. No, she had never met him. But if she recognized him from some place, surely that meant he was from the Duma Chama...Didn't it? Unless she was mistaken...Either way, she wanted to leave right away. But her legs were frozen.

Ribbit... the strange sound jerked the female out of her rapid thoughts, ears flicking tall and eyes widening. At first, she thought the sound came from some place else. When she realized it was the cheetah who had spoken, she was very, very confused. He seemed ashamed to have said that, but it was...Odd. Was he crazy...?

Suddenly even more frightened, Tiriel began panting quietly, unable to slow her beating heart. Anxiety was taking over as her imagination stretched things way out of proportion, but she managed to stammer, "It's--It's alright...!"
