Kisu fairly bounced with anticipation... ears perking back and forth and tail wagging. A few days ago, he'd heard about a cave nearby that supposedly had some kind of shiny treasure inside of it. And his parents had agreed to let him go and look for it! Sure, he was old enough now to really need their permission, but he was happy because his mother had smiled at him and his father had ruffled his fur and told him "good luck".
And now... it was time to go! Yipping excitedly, the young wild dog set off at a trot, heading to the west where the cave was, somewhere near the sea... He wondered what kind of adventures he might have along the way. And what the treasure was, of course...

Gaidi was adventuring!
Kind of.
Her raft hadn't yet proven itself buoyant, so she hooked up some vines to it, padded the bottom with large leaves and pulled it behind her like some kind of sled. She wasn't too perturbed by the weight: a Captain like her needed to be strong, and this was a good way to accomplish that. She would get it to float soon enough, and then find a big river to start her real journey.
For now, she had to explore on foot. Which was still fun and new, but less damp than she would like.
She was traveling toward water, looking for dogs to join her crew and for leads on any treasure that might come her way. She didn't realize she was walking near another wild dog, who was off to find just that. She did, however, hear something approaching and she stopped. With the big raft behind her she could hardly hide or run away. She she stood her ground, fur bristled, ready for a fight.

Kisu froze suddenly as his ears picked up the sounds of that "raft" crashing through the undergrowth up ahead. Not sure what it was, the young wild dog turned and darted into hiding, peeking out every now and again. Whatever it was, it sounded big! Should he try to go around... or confront it?
Then the noise stopped. Oh great, it noticed him. Frowning, he considered for a moment or two.
Ambush time!
Confident, Kisu grinned and carefully made his way along the side of the path he'd been on, unable to see much past the greenery in the way. He could see something kind of greenish though... and made that his target - quite suddenly jumping out of the bushes with a yell.

Gaidi barked wildly when something exploded from the bushes in front of her. An attack! She was under attack already? How had she made enemies already? Maybe she had more of a reputation than even she was aware of! Feared already!
She was eager to prove herself against this foreign foe. Growling viciously, or at least as viciously as she knew how, she decided she wasn't going to wait for his attack. Sure, maybe she knew more about fighting through day dreams and imagination than actual practice, but she was absolutely certain that she was strong.
She charged forward at him, only for her big raft to get caught on a bust and it yanked her back. She hit the ground hard and rolled with a yelp, growling and tugging at her vines.
Damn it!
"Who are you?" she barked, "don't make me hurt you!"

Kisu blinked at what he saw, skidding to a halt almost at the same time that the raft yanked Gaidi backwards. He was about to ask if she needed some help or something - seeing as how she was all tangled in the vines.
But then the female snapped at him, and Kisu's fur stood on end.
"Who am I?" he repeated, glaring down at her. "I'm Kisu'Makali, that's who! Why would you wanna hurt me? What'd I ever do to you?"

Gaidi looked up at him, skeptical and apparently irritated if her facial expression was any indication. She had no patience for silly things, and getting all tangled in her raft because she had been scared was definitely silly in her book. Adventuring for treasure and planning to go out sailing, not so much. Really, only Gaidi knew the intricacies of Gaidi's rules.
But she expecting others to follow them.
"Will you help me out of this?" She asked, though her tone wasn't so much a plea as an order. She was a leader, innately, the captain of her own boat as it were. Which, really, was just a prideful way of saying she was bossy when she needed to be.
"I'm Gaidi, and I was only going to hurt you if you hurt me, but if you help me I guess I'll have to help you, eh? Only seems fair."

Kisu appeared to think about that for a moment or two ... but then he nodded. "Okay sure, I guess I can help you out," he muttered, edging around to get a better look at the raft and exactly how she was tangled up in it.
"Hmm...." he hummed, then put his paw on one strap while he tried to bite through another one. He wasn't exactly sure if that would help, but he figured that he'd better look like he was doing something here.

Gaidi watched him, tugging listlessly at the vines that had her caught. She padded her feet, not because she was impatient per se, but because she just wanted to be free and get on the road to adventure again. It was so vexing, being stalled like this, especially because it was her own fault.
Though, as a Captain, she didn't think it necessary to take any blame.
She watched him as he chewed at the vine. It was pretty thick, so he might need a hand with it. Not thinking about it very much, she turned so she could get her muzzle right next to his, chewing near the same spot, thinking maybe the both of them could get it free.
"Keeph chewphin!"

"I am, I am," he replied, taking his mouth off the vine for a moment so he could talk. It was a bit ... nice, how close to him she was. But Kisu didn't comment on it for the moment, though his tail waved back and forth behind him.
