The sun had just reached it's peak at the top of the sky. Light was shining down on everything in the rays' path, warming up the surface of the Earth. It was bright out; brighter than usual, and of course extremely warm. The summer weather was perfect at this time of day; it was sunny and clear; there wasn't a cloud in sight. And Kintori loved it.

Fluttering her wings, Kintori relived the reason why she loved the overly-bright sunlight so much. The golden color of her mane, wings, tail, and hooves almost glittered in the direct rays of the sun. It didn't matter what the weather, she always looked beautiful, but the lighting was just perfect for someone of her colors. Flicking her tail, Kintori looked back and admired the beautiful, shining quality of her Unicorn-like tail. It was something she had inherited from her father, whereas her stunning wings she inherited from her mother. Her entire family were a group of good-looking stallions and mares, and all knew it.

Trotting around boredly in a large meadow, Kintori continued thinking about her family. The beautiful tribal markings of her three sisters, and the handsome gold-tipped wings of her brothers. Kintori was very unique among all of her siblings; she was the only one to have wings as well as a Unicorn trait, in this case the tail. She was nearly a full-out Alicorn - and she loved it.

Golden locks shifted across the vibrent green grass when the wind blew past. Helberd's muzzle caressed the ground softly as he breathed in summer air, feeling the sun warm his pelt and he soaked it in. He lifted his head to the soft blue sky and tossed his head towards the sun, causing the beads in his antlers to jingle.

The sun spread out across the meadow as one lone cloud passed over the brilliant yellow orb. Particles of light caught on his golden spots, and mane, and antlers. Reflecting onto his blue beads and pendent, making his form shine with the light of the day. And it felt good. With a good natured sigh he lowered his muzzle and set to look out across the field. It seemed that whenever he decided to go out into the open on beautiful days like this, that there was no one to share it with. He hadn't met many Ceyrinei since their return, and he'd seen none of the Soquili. He felt lonely, with no friends, family, and herd to care for. He felt it was his job to care for others, but he much more time on his hooves now that he didn't have a herd.

His golden tail flicked as his eyes strained to see across the meadow. Helberd was sure that he'd seen a flickering speck of golden light further off. It was kind of dazzling. Like some kind of good-natured spook. He took a few steps towards it even though he couldn't see it anymore. He let out a snort of frustration as he took off in it's direction, "Hello?"

A soft jingle in the not-so-far-off distance caught Kintori's attention and her ears swiveled in the sound's direction. Lifting her head up higher, Kintori attempting to get a better look. Stamping a hoof in frustration, she soon gave up. It seemed a lost cause - it was probably only the wind in the trees anyway, right?

Lowering her muzzle so she could graze, Kintori put her lips to the luscious green grass. No sooner than she had done this her ears twitched again, hearing a voice. The voice had been deep, considerably deeper than her own, suggesting a stallion. Smiling to herself, Kintori snapped her head up and peered around. Nothing in sight - yet again. Determined to find the male, Kintori put her hooves to work and started off toward where she had heard the noises from.

"Hello?" She called back. She had been working toward finding the stallion, but she had already lost her place. Climbing up a small hill, Kintori looked around yet again, and that was when she spotted it. A shimmering gold mane, whipping about lazily in the wind. Kintori gaped for a few second, then threw her own mane over back around her neck. She was still beautiful, but he... he was handsome. She was still the most stunning mare alive. 'Thank heavens he isn't a female,' Kintori thought, trying to smile. From what she could see, he was quite handsome. Someone she'd want to get to know.

There, off on the top of the hill, was the glittering, glowing, orb of an angel.

His blue eyes shined a lovely sky blue as he took a few steps toward the female, and called again, softer and with a silkier tone. "Hello" Helberd trotted further up the rest of the hill. His lips pulled back into a soft smile as he reached the top and took a look at her.

His smile quickly faded and his eyes became skeptic. "A Soquili?", he asked to her and to no one. He hadn't seen one yet, and he hadn't really wanted to. He'd been told story that they were horrible and self-centered beasts who were mostly likely were horrible in appearance. He looked her over once again, truly taking in her appearance. "She doesn't seem like a vicious, self-centered, conceited horse...." The wind blew again, tossing both of their manes around in the air. She surely was lovely, after all. Glowing like a sunny afternoon, much like today even, and had wings like an angel. He sighed, finally deciding to stay and give her a chance, dipping his head, "Im Helberd" His beads jingled and jangled as he brought his head up to look at her, "And this radiantly ravishing angel is? Perhaps your name might be Aphrodite?"

Looking up at the stallion before her, Kintori couldn't help but admit that he was the least bit intimidating. With his tall, broad bone structure, he was nearly towering over her. The golden antlers that decorated the top of his head protruded far into the sky, small bits of blue twinkling in the sunlight. The male had stunning blue eyes that were nearly hidden by his luscious, ever-falling golden locks. He was gorgeous - the male adaptation of Kintori. Seeing his smile, Kintori smiled back, but decided to keep it soft as to not appear so eager. Her ears flicked as he spoke the single word for the second time. "I do believe you've already said that," she said, batting her eyelashes up at him. My, was he gorgeous.

Nodding a bit, Kintori tilted her head slightly. "Yes, what else would I be? And I suppose you're a... seri... ceri... er..." she blushed a bit, her face contorted in confusion; she couldn't quite think of the word for his kind. She smiled as Helberd, as he dubbed himself, bowed his head to her - a sign of respect. She decided quickly that she rather liked that. A small, girlish giggle escaped her mouth as he inquired as to her name - Aphrodite? She wished. "Mmm, Aphrodite? The goddess of love. Of beauty. And of sexual desire?" She smiled knowingly, then brought her muzzle to the air a bit haughtily. "Close, but no cigar, sir Helberd. My name is Kintori, or 'Tori as those who are... close to me refer to me." She smiled a bit, unintentionally broadening her original smile.Already, Kintori was excited -Helberd seemed like an adventure just waiting to happen.
