Private RP between Longway (Graficcha) & Elst & Aoi (Roots)

Location: Elst's home
Time: Somewhere in the morning
Weather: Quite sunny

So far~

During yet another boring night, Misha out on a job again, miss Longway ended up paying our dearest Elst a visit. They talked quite deeply into the night, about this and that and hearts and everything, getting everywhere and nowhere, until...

Oh lookie, is that a heartbeat?
Somehow, Timka managed to get some warmth into the confused man, and like all females -cats they are, cats- ended up quite enjoying that newfound chaleur. So again, they ended up taking a muchneeded break on the couch, only not Trystan's this time around.

Beams of bright light slowly crept into the window-coated room, a specialty function to keep the plants happy. The sun, tired as it was, had began to rise, and its cheery rays, this lovely morning, landed upon two sleeping figures. Or so it seemed. Two, dark jade eyes slowly unveiled themselves, one after the other, as Elst awoke from his ‘slumber’. He was…on the couch, it seemed, the nice, overstuffed one in the living room, stretched out across the cozy cushions. And it seemed someone else was too.

Elst had to force himself not to jump slightly as his eyes fell to find a certain Miss Timka Longway, quite comfortable. Fast asleep. On him. His mind raced, for a moment in time, before it all started to come back to him… A subtle, melodic happiness coursed through his body, a happiness he hadn’t quite noticed. A happiness he had never felt in all his life, or at least all that he remembered. His pulse was light, seeming to dance in his chest from… …Hmmmm…wait, a pulse…that can’t be right…I’ve never had a pulse before…

Yet there it remained, a cheerful fluttering within his chest. Something he’d lacked for so long, had finally arrived…had arrived with her. A beating, working heart now resided in his formerly cold chest.

A long breath was heard as he drew in the sweet-scented air around him, as that subtle, yet strong feeling coursed through his veins. The room had always smelt nice, the blooming flowers and lavender all around the room ensured that, but...with her here, it was wonderful. He couldn’t quite take his eyes off the figure sleeping with him; and he certainly wasn't going to try looking away any time soon.

Resting quietly, so close to something warm and alive... See? She'd told him, na. Only she hadn't expected his physique to respond quite so readily to her conviction.
Not that it was such a bad thing... it was pleasant, most definitely pleasant to find he'd finally given in, recognised, realised, and could finally feel what she'd been telling him all through the last evening.

Not that any of that was on her mind now, asleep on her tovarish, her designated comrade, the first to conquer that title of her in many years. No, without her alarm on her nightstand, she was lavishly, royally sleeping in. Misha'd probably be back at the office already, hopefully Banning would excuse her for the lately increasing absenteeism. Dah, he knew she never let work hang around for too long, she'd just pull some extra hours later today.

Her thoughts were indeed headed in that direction when in her sleep, she frowned like a miffed kitten, making little grumpy noises moment before actually awakening.

"Mm.. Mnnn." prrrrr. Ooooh, warm. Sunny, fragrant... Elst.

Jolt. Just a little one.

"Ah. Oh... Hey, G'morning." she was peeking up at him now, noticing he was awake, wondering for how long he'd been tolerating her chubby bum on him now. Her earlier frown was replaced with a sleepy, cheeky smile now, muted blue eyes through sappy green messy bangs. Mrowl, how are you today, hm?

... sooo lazy.

Elst soaked in a few more minutes of introspection, of silence, of sun. A few more minutes of …her? This…couldn’t be right, he wasn’t able to enjoy this, he never had been able…Yet here it was, here she was…what was going on here?

Aoi, he knew, would never let him hear the end of this, oh yes. The little bugger was certain to be talking about this for at least another…Week? But he wasn’t here. He, to be specific, was on top of the northernmost greenhouse, doing some sort of crafts in the crisp, clean air. So he was no longer on Elst’s mind. Elst had…other things to occupy his thoughts.

The events of the evening, the emotions newly felt. Each and every word, feeling, action that had happened remained locked in his memory, as he cherished them again in his mind. It played through his thoughts over and over, such a wonderful thing, she’d been right after all. But how…

It couldn’t have happened, could it? No, he’d never been able to feel this connection…Perhaps it had only needed the right spark to reignite, hm? But…this just didn’t make sense! I…it...was like any other evening, I was reading, but…while we talked, she was always insisting that there was something missing…I fell apart…could she have been right? Wait, but…I can’t be feeling this, I’ve never had it in me, but…I feel so warm…

And indeed he did. A light touch to his own skin proved that. His body, once completely plant, cold to the touch, had began to change. His flesh…was warm. Same as the easy, repeating rhythm coursing through his body, his beating heart…And next to it, though faint, he could feel hers, another, steady beat; another instrument playing at the cardiac café, eh?

He felt her jolt slightly, as he had so nearly done himself. This simple, unconscious movement was enough to send tiny fiery doubts rocketing through his mind. Was that…revulsion? This must somehow be an accident, she couldn’t want to be here, with some garden weed… Even as she gave off that tiny, drowsy frown, one creased Elst’s face as well. But, as she looked up at him, it all…melted away. The doubts shot out of the air, plunging into an ocean of…what?

Her words hadn’t done nearly as much as the smile he saw on her face. This…was too good to be real, wasn’t it? But, he could certainly feel her there, hear her voice, take in all these things, it couldn’t be a dream either…He didn’t dream, anyway.

Seeing her deep, blue eyes through her somewhat tousled hair, he grew a faint awareness of just how messy his own was. He’d been out like a light, just like her, and she’d been messing with his hair for most of the time she was here…But that didn’t really matter to him, now. Focus, please, focus. Green met blue as he looked back down at her face, replying to her words.

“Hmmm…? Oh…good morning…” Seemed to be all he could say, a little too lost in thought, in her eyes maybe, as he tried to wake up a little more. A slight afterthought, he stretched out his legs and torso to maneuver his body, make it a little more comfortable for her to lie down on.

That odd, unfamiliar warmth continued its course, flowing through every inch of his body.

Mostly unaware of the heavy-to-airy thoughts in the man's head at this unholy-early hour -wait, it was well into the late morning-, Timka waggled her fingers at him in greeting lazily. A good morning it was indeed ,the earlier miffedness over late-for-work vanishing like ice exposed to sunlight.

”Been a while since ah'... last slept like this, hope I didn't squish you.” she stifled a yawn and chuckled loosely. ”Decidedly a nice environment to wake up in... Trystan's place is nothing compared to this.” Peeking around lazily, she concluded her usual statement yet again. Yup, how could anyone with this sort of touch for the cosy and pleasant not have feelings eh.

When Elst shifted below her, she ended up sliding in the crevasse between him and the couch edge a little, and she gave a giggly peep. Eeheehee, ohoho, was that the schoolgirl showing through, Timka?

”Might not be a bad time to get up. Mother Iris, what time IS it anyway.” Wigglewiggle, how to get up without having to use Elst's chest as a bench to press on now hm.. Oh well, at some point she ended up getting her legs over the far edge, and squirmed until her hips slid over as well, plopping down on the floor beyond. By the time she got there, she was indeed giggling, not sure whether to be awkward or just go with the joyful mood she was in as she got up again.

”I'm... not always this plump, I swear. I just figured it to be nicer than rolling over ya.” she let him know, loosely strolling back to his side, putting her hands on the small of her back and stretching backwards when she stood again. Crick. ”Aaaah.... all ironed-out again. You not too crooked after that?” she smiled, held a hand out to him to help him up.

Alive and heart-beat filled indeed. Welcome to the club, Elst.

His mind still raced, but with thoughts more subtle now, little worries, reassurances, massive emotions, so much to think on…All at such an early hour, too…but hey, at least this was comfortable…She spoke up, a little, he stopped thinking for a bit to listen.

“Oh, I…I didn’t mind, not at all…I’m glad you were comfortable…”

And once again, a shortness on words. There was just so much going through his mind, who had time to think about words anyway? Elst shifted slightly as he saw her slide over a bit, certainly hoped he hadn’t made her uncomfortable, that wouldn’t be good… She seemed a little…bubbly this morning, by the sound of her. Then, all of a sudden, there was movement…She was getting up it seemed.

Oh, now look what I’ve done, must’ve gotten her a bit too out of place to stay comfortable…

As he watched, she squirmed a little, sliding off of him and the couch. He’d been about to try and help her up, but before he could, she was already off. More giggling…

“Hmmm, I guess, the hour’s a little late…The only timepiece in here…was eaten by a fern… He gestured, a little distractedly towards one of the small coffee tables in the room, right between two of the overstuffed chairs. On it was a large, overgrown potted fern; it had sprawled out so far, the table-top couldn’t be seen beneath all the fern fronds. Somewhere, in there, was his pocket watch. Maybe. A soft smile crossed his face as her voice continued.

“Oh, no…you aren’t plump at all, not in the slightest…” He shook his head to reinforce the notion. “…I slept well with you here, that’s proof enough, right? …I…appreciate the consideration, though…” Oh yes, he certainly did, nothing like a happy-Elst, hm? He looked a little dazed, though he focused a little more as she offered to help him up.

“Oh…not crooked, no, you didn’t weigh me down any, not at all…” He felt a certain...lightness, to his heart, his body, felt light enough to just float up off of the couch on his own…But that didn’t stop him from accepting the help up, heavens no. He reached for her hand, lifting as she did ‘till he was upright.

“Ah…thanks for that, much appreciated…I think I’ll search for that watch later, though, want something to eat? Where’s the word, breakfast?” And now his thoughts were all running together, all jumbled, from the time of day to the time to eat. He’d thankfully stocked his home with food just a day earlier; he’d been noticing how often he was receiving company….And here we have an altogether different company to care for…

More giggling indeed, if only for a short while compared to 'classic' gigglefits.

”Oh really? Dayum, and here I was thinking I'd only need to become more plant-like to be able to tell the time from the sun alone. Circadian rhythms and all, are they any good with the rumba?” Aww, tease tease, she's grinning though. Way to go Elst, you made her into a morning person here. Run for your life, because this miracle is the beginning of the world ending!

”Aw lookitchu now, you're not calling me curvy? You know how to please a female, at least. Glad you appear to have slept... rested well then.” she smiled at him brightly while giving him a firm tug to get him back to his feet. ”Nice to see the weeping willow looking better. Guess when people say to 'sleep on it', they have a point hmm?” Not that she was that short for a woman, but she could still peer up at him like a little girl, and that's pretty much what she was doing now.

”... yeah, you definitely look a lot better today. Makes me wonder what exactly brought this on, but the most important is that it somehow happened, hm.” Priorities, priorities.

... breakfast sound even more interesting right now to be perfectly honest though. Better admit I'm hungry before my stomach snitches on me. What's your usual routine? Ah, how to you fee-... err, what does Aoi eat anyway? I have no idea really...” Aheh, that's your terrain eh. Well, she was as excited as she was awkward now, with a nice combination of female gluttony, and equally female memories of a household full of little kids requiring some 'assembling' before getting to the breakfast table. Truth be told, she did start wondering where Aoi had been all night now, she didn't remember catching him since coming in. She just hoped the fact Elst didn't seem concerned was normal, not because she'd somehow made him go braindead or something...

”If I end up raiding your supplies, I'll make sure to restock, I promise.” she chuckled, only jibing a little there at the giving-taking. This was just common sense really. ”Maybe I should invite you over sometime... or just out somewhere, my place isn't half as interesting as a broom cupboard.”

Well, she was still smiling as she said that, so she wasn't being mopey there, just stating bland facts. Might as well believe that.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:48 pm

Elst’s smile grew a little wider, as if it seemed reluctant, even as he laughed quietly at the whole ‘Circadian Rhythms’ bit. The smile would make it eventually, just not yet. Too…’thiscan’tbehappening’ to fully smile for now, yes…

As she continued to speak, Elst just sort of stood there looking dull. What could he say to this, honestly? Her frankness in her words was rather nice, though. “Well…you certainly aren’t plump… Awwh. He’s muttering… Hm, yes, sleeping turned out pretty well… “Hm? Oh, I guess you were right, mmhmmm…that sleep did…wonders.” Oh yes, the sleep was nice, but it wasn't the wonder, not at all...

He looked down back to her, that quiet fascination again behind those jade orbs. “Oh, I…Yeah, it’s good that…it happened. Important…” He sort of lost his train of thought at the words ‘you definitely look a lot better…’ Oops, that certainly distracted him...

At her acknowledgement of breakfast, he snapped back into reality, at least for a moment, nodding and trying to remember what food he had. Let’s see…He’d bought some eggs, and there was vegetable oil in the cabinet, and some pans, not to mention all the herbs that he grew that could act as seasoning… Oh yes, something nice could be made with that, but could he remember how to prepare it? Ohoho, there’s the million dollar question. And Aoi? He just sort of ate, didn’t he?

“Oh…Aoi just kind of…eats on his own, he tends to eat what looks like his body weight in the Nursery’s vegetables, with some of the fruits, too, hungry little guy… Although he sometimes eats when I do if I’ve scrounged up something particularly good tasting…But he‘s out on the greenhouse, now, no need to worry about him… ” Oh, such a way with words, there, Elst. “...speaking of… How does an omelet sound? I…think I have all the fixings for one, and I might have some fruit and…what is it called? Bacon meat? that I can fry up for you…” Did he have the slightest memory of how to cook an omelet? We’ll just have to see about that, whatever it was Elst would try to make it for her.

He scratched the back of his head a little, chuckling along with her. “Oh, you don’t need to restock for me, I’ll be…glad to cook something up for you…” Hm, there’s that dazed look again, he’d look like an idiot at this rate. “Though…it’d be nice…yes, I’d be happy to go somewhere with you…I…yeah.” Oh, there goes the modern poet again with such lavish eloquence, eh?

All through that most adorable bumbling, Timka's mood soared. Not even she could tell why exactly that was. The pleasant environment, the exquisite company? The sleeping in too long, even?

Ay ay ay, easy there now, don't twist up your grey matter eh. Green. Grey. Stuff.

Gaw, what WAS he getting all flustered for now eh.

"Little glutton? No idea how much energy he requires, but I assume he's on magic-heavy duty here? Quite a feat of you two to manage to care for all these plants around, they're fickle enough without being stuck in a city. That flower you gave Banning's doing fine, by the way."
Chitter chatter, just keeping busy eh. She wasn't really ready for long silences yet, not this early in the morning, and not before deciding what to classify this as properly. What WERE they doing in Isis' name anyway?

Having a casual morning, she assumed. For now. WHY was she getting all flippy now, she never got unsettled nowadays. Not that this was a bad sort of unsettled though, just strange. Unknown.

"Something's making my insides go giddy, and I'm not sure it's appetite. What sort of scents ARE that around here..." Geehee, yeah, blame it on the fragrances. Maybe we're going high a little?

"... but eggs sounds good, oh yes. And bacon, woot. Luxurious stuff. if you need a hand just tell me, that stuff is like... Sunday-morning food of kings."
Yes, priorities set. "Noooow where's the kitchen, compadre? Hungry woman on board, time for raiding!" Almost setting her giggles off again, she laughed lightly, took his hand -so warm- and lead him around, half aware of where to go. Heck, if she went the wrong way, he'd just tell her, right? He better... Wakey wakey, Elst, action time. XD
PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:32 pm

Ah, as his companion’s mood soared, Elst’s, just…bubbled. He honestly was confused now, this was all so…different. He was just sort of happy that she seemed happy, really. What was this…It was nice, that’s what.

“I’m just…happy he’s at least eating…good foods, I guess it helps him fuel his magic, you’re probably right… He really helps, even with the rain alone, but…this is just what we do, it’s no impressive feat…just want a greener world, I guess.” Good question, what were they doing, hell if Elst could figure it out.

He seemed to be waking up a little at least. But only a little, he still wasn’t fully coherent yet. Ooh, there’s a point. What was that feeling? “I…I think I feel it, too…It’s nice, though…I dunno if my plants are doing that or something…Mmm, We both kinda smell nice, though…” There we go, catching on a little bit…But before he could think on that too much, breakfast.

Ah yes, breakfast. Good, she seemed pleased with the idea, yes, he’d cook an omelet for her, very nice…He laughed a little at her final remark. But…hm, what do we have here? His hand’s been taken, my…Whoops, there goes all his concentration, right out the window, or maybe just back to her eyes…yes, let’s just follow her…Warm skin, yes, soft…

He sort of just let her lead him by the hand, barely making any resistance when she took a few wrong turns. Just a few muffled sounds. But hey, they got there eventually, right? Yes, the spacious kitchen unfolded before them, needing no light to be turned on due to the sun warmly filling it. Elst sort of leaned over to the fridge, still hand-in-hand with her, leading her over until he could absentmindedly open it.

“I think I can handle the omelet…maybe…I haven’t cooked in a while…want…some juice or something, while I try to make it?” He probably would need her help eventually, at least around the stove. Just look at him, would ya, such a sap...

Confusing indeed, but Timka wasn't about to break the mood by analysing the situation now. Experience had taught her moments like these you should just enjoy while they lasted, and she felt way too elated with the way Elst was blooming suddenly to go all pragmatic on it.

"Aaaah... admirable goal. More green, I like green. Purple, too, but green is nice."
Well, Elst isn't the only one whose intellectual level took a plunge.

God, there really must be something in the air hmm, she wasn't even embarrassed to almost dunk into Elst's pantry once, it just made her chuckle. Oh look, funny situation, we're playing follow the leader like kids now! Aaaah, who cares. The only one around is Aoi anyway, and she really didn't care what an Essentic thought of her. Begs the question what Elst was doing as well, surely they'd snap out of it at some point, and what then? Oh heck, making up a balance is for later.

"Yey, found uuuuut." Now she started making odd noises, too. Timka, lass, behave. "Now I know the entire lower floor layout right away, good planning." geehee.

"Where DO you get this taste for cosy, it's like... oh I don't know, it's nice. Pleasant. Warm. Like you. Oh, juice, that'd be delightful. La, I'll help you out if you need a hand, no worries." I do this all the time back home, hah. She took the liberty of swerving around to check the cupboards and retireve two glasses, still managing to be pretty much shackled to him.

"Oh. Would you mind if I.. errr. I'm late for work anyway, and I've got some leeway to work with... unless you want me out of here, I'd give my boss a call later to say I won't be in the office today? If nobody knows where I am, Misha'll get fussy."
PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 10:46 pm

Yes, just enjoy the moment…Hopefully there’ll be plenty more after this…

Really, he couldn’t seem to help himself. This was just too nice… “Yeah, green…purple’s nice, too…” There we go with the poetry again, eh? And what’s a little follow-the leader to make things even nicer… Hm, wonder what Aoi’ll think of this, though…neh, he won’t be back for a while anyway.

Would he break out of this eventually? Maybe. Did he plan on it any time soon? Nope. “Mmhmmm…always nice to know where you stand, I suppose…” Did he even hear the question? No, ‘course not, especially since she hadn’t asked one in the first place. He was…just sort of enjoying her voice for now…

Oh, hey, warm. “I…like being warm, you’re warm too…” And…the juice. Musn’t forget the juice. He…looked around a bit, in the fridge, where was that stuff hiding, anyway, he’d bought it only yesterday…There. Behind the milk, the little bugger, there’s the carton. A nice big gallon of cranberry-grape, tart, but not too much.

And hey, she got a couple glasses, one for him, too, how nice. A healthy three-quarter portion in each glass would do just fine, and the carton went back into the fridge. He reached for the first glass, handing it to her before taking his own. Now, let’s see if we can get this done without catching on fire, that’d kinda ruin the mood… He lean-walked over to the [electric, no fire involved, thankye kindly] stove, switching it on. A pan was found, splash a little vegetable oil in there, get it on the stove…Now, the eggs.

He half-reached to the fridge, grabbing a few, then a bowl. A quick rinse of the hands in the sink, and the eggs were quickly cracked over to bowl, careful not to spill now. Another quick handrinse, get that goop off, then back to the eggs. Wire whisk, oh wire whisk, where art thou? There it is…let’s get beating these eggs. And so on and so on. Hey, what do you know, that turned out nicely, tasty golden yellow eggs…Now if he could only remember the rest of the omelet-meking process…

"So's blue, sunny blue." Yeeaaaah, just a step further and you'll be sounding like on catnip. Indeed she didn't say much then, just hummed and nodded an went around until they were where they had to be.

Yeah, warm is good, hmhm, yeah... definitely. So very, very warm. Hard to say who had the warmer hand now, she sure as hell felt like she was having a major case of the sweaty palms.

Ah, okay, I'll just... heck, I'll call up the office later. Not now, not now... Nuu, not now.

Only once Elst had poured the juice did she actually think to let go though, even if she somehow found herself unable to stray more than a few steps from him. Considering it to be a conflicting message not to, she thanked him when he handed over her glass and took a sip. Good stuff, cool and fresh and father Isis, why was she so tense now? The fluid sliding down her throat was welcome, but still she felt like she couldn't really swallow. After taking two, three more awkward sips, she set her glass back down on the table, and tried to make herself a little more useful.

The resulting skitter while they went about making breakfast together was almost hilarious to behold, with Longway being almost magnetically attached to him but swerving around him like an eel and perfectly managing to not get in his way. Most of the time she was lagging behind threeseconds on his movements though, wondering why she didn't get annoyed now for not actually knowing where everything was. In any other kitchen she'd have been miffed over not knowing her way around about five minutes ago, but now, any sort of irritation seemed to hit some foggy barrier far away in the back of her mind.

Eventually she left Elst to fixing the egg-part after washing her hands as well, then she took the liberty of inching aside and sneaking a few basics out of his fridge, and setting about undisturbedly to prepare them. Onions, bacon, oh look, the herb storage.
Occasionally she murmured something, asking for approval or directions to a certain item quietly, but overall, she worked in all silence. Like this they'd be finished in no time at all, even with her giving him the time to watch what she was doing, incase she did anything he didn't know yet, or anymore.

Things appeared to be going rather relaxedly, but still it was as if her entire body was experiencing an odd sort of gravity from him, as if he created a slipstream around himself everytime he moved past her. Only when Timka realised she was that acutely aware of him, she suddenly found herself able to settle down again. Alright then... no need to get all puffed up now, what fool is awkward around a tovarish, hm? Yup, no reason to...
patter after him like a duckling. Come on, she'd been around tall people before, what was so, so... intoxicating about Elst then?

Recap, recap Timmy-lass. RECAP. When was the moment you lost your head now, when exactly did you begin to think it would be the best idea in the world to-...

Suddenly catch up a step and wrap her arms around his waist, leaning against him and humming contently. Aw you.

Oddly enough, like that she found herself able to think a bit more clearly again, and lo and behold! speak, even.

"... maybe I should go find Aoi? I wonder what he'll have to say about your new thump-thump." she murred, peeking at him leaning past his side smiling like the most innocent kitten ever, arms still around him.

Mmmm, all colors were nice in their own way, right…? Didn’t matter though, they were there, some green, some yellowy-blonde, some blue…Twas nice, yes… Wait, she asked about a phone, didn’t she… To be truthful, the question had kind of left his mind for a moment there; he just didn’t want to consider her leaving him for even enough to go call…Hmmm, the call could wait, he’d just make sure she knew where the phone was, that was enough…

Warm hands…Wait, where did it go, did he do something wrong? …She had moved away a little, but…still so close, yes, he could cope with this, yes…just don’t go any further, stay…with him…And she did, too, how quaint, nice and close, that was the key, yes… Hm, would you look at that, though? She seems to like the juice, yes, that’s good, as long as she’s happy…

Before he knew it, though, she was farther away, oh, the unbearable diiiistaaancee…still close, though…and would you look at that, she’s helping out too, so nice of her, she didn’t have to do that…but….he was glad she did. He closed that gap a little on his own, jus’ scoot over a little, get a tiiiiny bit closer…there, that was…nice.

My, she keeps so nice and close, yet never an impedance, how polite of her…As he moved, she did too, close, yet not quite touching, some…elegant dance of the morning, silhouettes in sunlight… And, well now, she was chopping things up for him, very nice, each little ingredient, my, this’ll be done before we know it…She looked a little confused every once in a while, but a few warm gestures over to where things were and that turned out alright, and his approval, oh, she certainly held that, and on more than just doing this all right…there was…just something more…

And that…awareness of the other, that…unwillingness to be apart, oh yes, Elst felt that intoxication, that embrace…and was just as confused about it as ever…But it felt…satisfying, somehow, enjoyable to the greatest extents, might as well enjoy it…Let’s get a little closer here, there, much better. Mind still so…muddled, though, what was doing this…

He tried to think it through, tried, but couldn’t quite sort through it. The confusion, though, it somehow felt nice at the same time…

The omelet, yes, mustn’t forget. A dash of butter, and the pan seems to be up to heat, let’s pour in that egg, there, it’s spreading well…Hm, this’ll be interesting, wonder what’ll happen if we put just a taste of milk in there, that should make quite a nice flavor for her… Oh hey, hello there…

Before he even realized it, her arms had slipped around him, her presence so…close, and he couldn’t help but just sort of hug back into the warmth, the embrace. Yup, just get a liiiittle closer, so much nicer… And with her, right there, things just sort of snapped into focus a bit, it was still a little hazy, but…it was clearer all the same. And all that clarity…went to her, and her alone. Her just being there, with him. This…didn’t quite occur to him, but there was a reason behind it all…

And there, her voice, he heard it again…he liked it…

“Oh. Aoi? …to be honest, he…probably figured it out, but…I guess you could go tell him, if you want… I’ll go with you, though…” It was so…odd. He knew she’d be able to find Aoi on her own, but…he wanted to help her anyway, be with her as she walked, walk with her…No matter what.

That lovely smile of hers was gladly returned with one of his own.

How cosy-giddy she was now, feeling so unusually at home in the house of by all means, a previously complete stranger. A business contact, a client, an ally, a sort of friend. Somehow, in such a short time, she'd gotten to know him on a deeper level than even her own parents, and he'd become her tovarish. He'd accepted the title, probably not too aware of the meaning it held, but even then.

Already, he was more than 'just that'. Later, later she'd wonder what in the world was up with that. She knew enough about puppy crushes to compare this to that temporary phenomenon, and conclude that while related, she'd never experienced something quite like this before.
Sure, an odd sort of physical attraction played, but she... god, she really cared about him. It didn't even matter all that much what he felt back for her, as long as he was alright, and allowed her to care about him independantly. Really, that was about the only thing she was afraid of now, of him rejecting her care, and nobody else giving it to him. He deserved to be happy so much, and it'd break her heart if he couldn't be.

So here they were, sharing their time and closeness in that quaint little dance of homeliness, quite definitely... lovestruck.

Odd how despite them both being so distracted by each other, the work got done relaxedly, hands helping each other out with all friendliness in the world, bringing together practical skill and knowledge with more harmony than a zen-master raking his garden.

"Hmm... that'd be nice. The food needs to simmer anyway, it won't go any faster with us gawking at it ne..." she murred contently, sounding a bit sluggish, languidly dozy. Heehee, so we didn't lose our tongues. Not that she was in any mood to panick even if they did end up mute somehow. yeah, that's pretty out-of-it if you ask me.
Gawh, that smile of his... she only barely resisted poking his nose there and then, her sleepy rational side pointing out that may just be one bridge too far on the scale of giddy playfulness.

Half-slung around Elst like a waistband, she then circled around, retrieved the pan-lid, and neatly put it on. That could be left alone for a while now, it wouldn't char.

"L.. let's.. like.. go then?" Shouldn't take long... how hard can it be to find'm eh..." Murrr... Mother Iris, that smile. Stop eeeet, it's almost too much.

With a gentle pressure, she managed to get them moving then, finding her loose step back once they were out of the kitchen, taking his hand again and leading him outdoors. Once there, she felt oddly reluctant to just call out for the Essentic, though. Why break the tranquility, why raise her voice, even if she meant it well? They could find him without resorting to such vigorous signs of activity, nah, just... peace and quiet and taking their time would do.

Yes, just enjoy the silence, here, with this uniquely fascinating, strangely fragile but so, so friendly tree of a man.
... he'd never be rid of her punning though. Not even the gods themselves could get this Longway to stop spouting those, oh no.
