ABOUT THE DRAGONName: Cha'al (cha - ahl)Meaning: "Ruler of all Cats" - The sounds "cha" and "al" were two separate words in ancient times, each with a different meaning. 'Cha' was a word that meant 'cat', while 'al' was a word that meant 'to rule over all'. Both words were highly esteemed, because at the time it was thought that cats were deities in the flesh, and to kill one was sacrilege- a crime punishable by death.
Neither word had ever been used with the other, but one day a lowly peasant girl was found with many, many cats. She would pet them, feed them from her plate, and all the cats loved her. However, some of the higher-ranked officials considered this sacrilege. The current emperor had mercy on her, however, seeing as how she was both a woman and a peasant- he knew she couldn't have gotten an education even if she tried. The emperor's chancellor, however, still had some of his guards beat the girl mercilessly. When the emperor found out about this, he promptly had his chancellor killed and the girl taken into his palace.
As she recovered, the guards who watched her noticed something mysterious...All the cats never once left her side wherever she went. So the emperor decided to give her the name Cha'al, ruler of all cats. (Just to clarify, none of this is true- just making it up for story's sake. Though it is loosely based off of Egyptian culture.)Reason for the Name: Cha'al has her colors based on the Cheetah...A close contender for the king of felines position. The others, tiger and lion, are actually at a disadvantage- The lions hunt in packs, yes, and have some camouflage, but that is also their weakness: without all of the others, any one lion's chance of survival is greatly reduced.
The tigers are at a similar disadvantage- their stealth is par none, yet if their cover is blown the prey will most likely get away.
The cheetah is the perfect predator- it has camouflage to sneak up on its prey, and when it is discovered it can run faster than the wind itself to catch its meal. And it does this alone...Thus, the cheetah is the "ruler of all cats".Personality: Cha'al is a very laid back dragon...Much like her animalistic counterpart. She is very quick, both in body and mind. She is calm, cool, and calculating...And not even the wind can slow her down- It simply gets out of her way. She is grateful for her abilities, however, and doesn't enjoy showing off unless it's to put someone else in their place. It takes alot to perturb her...And if she knows someone is going to become a nuisance later on, she will take steps to prevent them from getting her blood to boil.Current Stage: Adult-Librarian- -ToC- -Dragon- -Rider- -Gallery- -Relationships-

RelationshipsDragon: AzalaeaStatus: Cha'al views Azalaea as a friend, however the two will occasionally bicker over small things. Cha'al is also somewhat jealous of Azalaea's relationship with Roarke. It's not that she wants the male to herself, she's just resentful that almost no male wants to be with her.Dragon: CloverStatus: Cha'al is watching this little dragon grow into a fine young female, and Cha'al feels a sense of pride in knowing that she helped raise Clover. Cha'al effectively 'adopted' Clover, since Azalaea has a mate and will soon have children for herself. Cha'al views Clover as her daughter, and loves her as a mother would her daughter.Dragon: DanteStatus: Cha'al views this one as somewhat of an oddity. As a dragon, she has no business dealing with a hexadragon egg. However she feels some fondness for the little creature, and is hopeful that Dante will choose to spend time with her. As no male will come near her yet, Dante is the closest thing she has to a child...Even if he's not technically hers.-Librarian- -ToC- -Dragon- -Rider- -Gallery- -Relationships-
