Ah! True, lol.
Anyway, I have an idea for the lesson today. Since I'm now taking a missionary prep class at church I can use stuff from the lesson. My dad gave me a print out.
SO, what is the focus of missionary work?

To bring the knowledge and truth of the gospel to those without it to give them the opportunity to accept it and begin their progression toward exaltation.

Yes, and in essence it's inviting people unto Christ.
Ok, so Elder Holland once asked at a zine conference what the missionaries wanted investigators to do as a result of their discussions with them. What do you think the answer is?

Well, if I were a missionary I'd definitely want investigators to take our message seriously and study it out in their hearts.

ok, well the missionaries at the conference yelled out "BE BAPTIZED!" to Elder Holland's amusement. He said that was a good answer but that there was something that came before that. The missionaries proceeded to give what they thought were the right answers, your generic sinday school responses: pray, go to church, read the BoM, feel the spirit, etc. Yet they missed the most important points. You remember the fourth article of faith?

Does it have anything to do with repentance?
(Sorry...I'm too lazy to go get my scriptures right now.)

Yes, lol. It's the first four principles/ordinances of the gospel: Faith, Repentance, Baptism, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
As a missionary, on the field or off, one thing you have to understand is that it's not a numbers game. The more you baptize GREAT, but it's more important to make sure an investigator is firm in their fledgling testimony. If they don't have those basic principles of faith and having truly repented of their sins, when they get baptized they'll rapidly become inactive.

Hey, I kinda got it right...
But yeah, that's true. Baptisms don't mean anything if the person isn't spiritually ready for it. I know quite a few people who were pretty much bum-rushed into baptism by impatient and probably statistics-oriented missionaries, and their spirituality hasn't fared too well since.

So, as member missionaries, whatis one very important thing that we should be doing?
