Well, I was just watching Robin Hood Men in Tights, and it got to the scene where the Sheriff was trying to deflower the Maid Marian. Against her will. And what stops him?
A chastity belt. Yes. This ancient idea seemed to serve as an anti-rape device....
So, I got to thinkin'. What if these odd lil' devices could be used today? Not at all times, of course, due to sanity. But if someone was walking in a dangerous part of town, or going on a date to someplace really out of the way, they could go and be sure that.... Well, the jackasses would be kept at bay. Then the bastards could get jailed and no mental damage be done.... Hopefully.

Chasity belts are highly outdated and really didn't stop cases of rape. Also, weren't they normally used on boys and not girls? >.> I was watching the history of sex and during the Victorian era they were only used on boys to keep them from having wet dreams or doing stuff with their boy parts at night.

Vajapocalypse Chasity belts are highly outdated and really didn't stop cases of rape. Also, weren't they normally used on boys and not girls? >.> I was watching the history of sex and during the Victorian era they were only used on boys to keep them from having wet dreams or doing stuff with their boy parts at night. 0.o @.@ Yeah. 'Twas a random thought. But if they were made really well...... Really random thought. @.@

They're robbing you of your base rights and choices if raped and if you are a prostitute stealing your money too. I knew someone was gonna say that. I just couldn't think of the word I wanted. Orignally I wanted to say "then the rapist with also become lockpicks" or whatever the term is.

And that'd take their attention away, allowin' the person to beat the karp out of them. Perhaps two keyholes that have to be opened simultaneously, thus taking twice the concentration. ninja

I think I'd rather learn kung fu and carry a bladed weapon than wear a chastity belt. Those things look some what scary and uncomfortable. <.<

Angela Celeste I think I'd rather learn kung fu and carry a bladed weapon than wear a chastity belt. Those things look some what scary and uncomfortable. <.< My figurin' is that even with that, the other person might have better kung fu and knowledge of how to disarm. And, of course, they'd have to be made comfortable. Somehow..... *Idea falls short in far too many ways.*

I'm pretty sure a gun works a whole lot better.
Not really. Chances are the assailant will manage to get the weapon from you.

Avoiding an area doesn't mean that you'll necessarily be safe. On the friend front, your friends can't always be with you.

Avoiding an area doesn't mean that you'll necessarily be safe. On the friend front, your friends can't always be with you. True, nothing can be 100% sure or safe but you can try and stay away from areas where the possibility of, 'being in the wrong place at the wrong time' is less. It's like if your scared of blood...you don't visit the emergency ward (goodness know why someone would do that anyway) or become a doctor. You can't completely AVOID seeing blood but you can lessen the possibility. Does that clarify the situation a bit better? smile
