Racing
Cheetahs are runners, so they use racing to gain honour and to settle disputes.
Interested hybrids and cheetahs who are adol/adult (no other species) can sign up for a tournament. ICly this happens a a few times a year - OOCly I don't know how many we'll organise. I'd like one every three months maybe?
Anyway. The entrants are seperated into cheetahs and hybrids, winners are rolled from each pair, and it's winner stays on until we have a grand champion! A hybrid and a hybrid or cheetah and a cheetah have straight 1-2 rolls. A cheetah and a hybrid have 1-3 rolls in the cheetahs favour (because cheetahs cheat in theory are more adapted for racing than hybrids).
ie.
Hybrid 1, Hybrid 2, Hybrid 3, Hybrid 4, Cheetah 1, Cheetah 2, Cheetah 4 and Cheetah 5 sign up.
Hybrid 1 & 2 = 2 wins. Hybrid 3 & 4 = 4 wins. Hybrid 2 & 4 = 4 wins.
Cheetah 1 & 2 = 1 wins. Cheetah 4 & 5 = 4 wins.
Hybrid 4 & Cheetah 4 = cheetah 4 wins. Cheetah 1 & 2 = 1 wins.
Cheetah 4 & 1 = 4 wins.
Cheetah 4 is then named a champion. This is not a rank, but an honour that is won. When they win champion ten times, they become grand champion. While it does not make them a leader or ruler, they are generally respected and being a great racer? Does not hurt when trying for a mate, it is considered VERY diserable quality in a mate to be a racer, swift and agile.
They also try to settle disputes with racing rather than fighting.
ie. Male 1 and Male 2 are fighting over territory. They ask for witnesses and race ICly, OOCly, you roll 1 or 2 as winner.
Bets are often taken ICly about who'll win races (though seers are forbidden from gambling by most cheetahs, because, pff, they could have had a vision!).

Either would be very welcome! x)
M'thinking for their lands, just a biiiig cheetah friendly plain/grassland. Maybe with a central rock where they can meet/go up on it to watch the races.

This is Roxdene, this would be absolutely perfect, you see I just won her, well recently at least, from Meep's recent Derby raffle. And I decided since she was based off of a race horse and she was a cheetah that'd she'd be a racer.
And now there's a racing group that she can race against!
She'll be happy to join, it's her passion, she'll be out of racing while she's pregnant, which will be soon but not like as soon as breedings open.
Her kids will probably be racers.
We could do a junior racers division so that the young ones can race too?

This sounds great for Maalum. XD But he's not quite old enough to leave his family just yet.
Still, I shall stalk and see how this develops!

Random - but your Maalum reminds me of my Uri a lot, Caj.
I think maybe youngster races could be introduced after a while - like after the place exists and the adult ones have been organised enough that replicating them for the youngsers will be a doddle.

Anyone interested in their cheetahs having a connection/having been from the tribe? Like original members who left for a wander or say "had an old (npc) aunt who came from this place" so they knew of it anyway. Just so it's not entirely springing u out of nowhere x)
Also, do people like the idea of local nature spirits in the Winds or would people rather just pure racing with no folklaw-y bit?

If they're indeed welcome... Lenana would love to come here~ Being a seer, she'll have to keep her mouth shut for the big races XP I like the idea of the spirits, and the whole idea in general Seems fun. When I get my boy' he'll probably come here as well.
