The sun had hidden today behind a blanket of silver clouds. They did not hang low enough to threaten rain, but merely provided a shady respite from the early summer warmth.

Some might consider it gloomy weather, but Hitsuga had found it invigorating not to be pinned in the sun's bask, and had taken the opportunity to do some housework he'd been putting off in recent days. In cleaning, he'd taken inventory on what he, Baikou, and Kan were running low on in the pantry, and it seemed a trip to the grocer was in order.

Taking a moment to smooth back his hair, hoping the walk would not be too breezy, the perfumer quietly let himself out of his home, easing the door closed behind him...

Though it was still relatively early in the afternoon, Kouyo felt quite tired; the time he was used to in the other Silver World did not seem to line up properly with the time in Gaia, and he had yet to readjust. And so the High Priest had been up since not long before the sun rose, working on digging around in the dry dirt in front of his new home in order to begin to turn it into a garden. Progress had been steady all morning, and now the red-haired Porcelain was taking a break seated in the middle of all of his flowers from the other Silver World, leaning back against the front wall of his house.

After a few moments, he caught movement out of the corner of his eye, and turned his head to see another dark-haired person - Porcelain? - leaving the neighboring house. Perhaps one of the new arrivals, then?

Kouyo watched the stranger as he walked down the street in front of his house and projected a quiet hello, to point himself out to the other man if he chose to listen, but without begging for his attention if he was too busy with some important errand.

It would seem that Hitsuga's errands were not that important at all beyond nudging himself to remember this time, to pick up enough chicken for both themselves and the cat, for at Kouyo's gentle projection, he reacts immediately, stopping short to look about himself for its source.

Noting, at last, the red-haired male who appears to be gardening in front of the house next door, he blinks, and then offers a warm greeting in return, and a bow of his head.

Does the day find him well...? 3nodding He had been unaware that the house next door had belonged to anyone...

Laughing softly, Kouyo climbed to his feet. He was also unaware that this home belonged to him until just a day or so ago. He had been ... away for a while and returned to find that the Imperial Princess had purchased this residence for him.

And he was quite well today, just rather tired from moving in and gardening and making his nest and all. He smiled and brushed a few bits of leaves and grass from his hair, wound into a messy bun, and then bowed politely as he introduced himself as "Kouyo of Water". There was shyness to his manner and his voice was soft when he spoke as it always was, but Kouyo's projections still indicated an interest in befriending the one apparently nesting on the adjacent branch.

He gives a chuckle at this. Lady Rika had done similar for Hitsuga with his own home when he'd arrived in this world...

He is most pleased to meet Kouyo. And then, of himself - "Hitsuga of Heaven." His voice is similarly soft, and a bit odd in its cadence, as if speaking aloud is not something he is well-practiced in.

He can sympathize rather well with being tired....getting moved in and settled had been quite an ordeal on his end as well. If Kouyo should find himself needing anything along the way, this one would be happy to help if he can.

Kouyo thanked him warmly, stepping up to the fence between his yard and the road, and resting his elbows on it. Then he glanced down at the fence, raising an eyebrow. Perhaps tomorrow he could look into removing this barrier, for starters....

But other than that, he had pretty much everything he needed for the moment. All of his furniture had come from his previous living space, and, while he needed a bit more to really make his home presentable, it was livable for the moment. When he is fully settled in, though, perhaps Master Hitsuga would like to come inside to visit?

As Kouyo comes forth, the dark-haired man takes a small step back. It does not seem to be something he is aware he's doing, so much as his own instinctual need to keep a polite distance between himself and those he does not yet know.

Hitsuga should like that very much, and Master Kouyo is, of course, welcome to do the same, he says. His shop is open to the passersby by day, and in the evenings it is most usually just him and his wife.

Dark blue eyes wander past the the other momentarily to the flowerbed, studying the plants within it.

Master Kouyo is arranging an interesting garden, he compliments, his projections beginning, at last, to lapse a bit from politeness to something a bit warmer.

Ah, so Master Hitsuga's home is also a business? Kouyo glances over at the building again, and gives off a faint feeling of admiration. What does he sell there?

And yes, the flowers seem to be taking well to Gaia's alien soil, Kouyo adds. The priest wants to get some Gaian flowers for it, as well, when he can spare the money, but for the moment, he can focus his full energy on helping these plans from the other Silver World thrive. They seem identical to types he cultivated back in the Golden World, and wanted to bring some back here with him, so that he and the others would have at least one familiar thing to enjoy in this strange new place.

Familiarity in this world is hard to come by, Hitsuga agrees. confused It seems for every one thing that is the same as it was in the Empire, there are three things that are so vastly different, it makes one's head spin...

Ah, but forgive him for avoiding the question. This one sells perfumes, oils, and soaps, mainly. He had been unsure of whether or not he would be able to continue his business in Gaia as Rika had suggested he ought to, but he's found the materials here to be workable.

Kouyo smiles and closes his eyes, and tells the dark-haired man that he himself grew lots of flowers back in the Golden World, in his temple, as well, and that he finds comfort in the whole vast array of different scents. If he tends to his garden here well with his magic, it should not be long before he has dozens of blossoms from the plants he brought over from the other Silver World. Might Master Hitsuga be able to make use of some of this little bird's garden to work his craft? Perhaps if his neighbor could get enough oils from these plants, they could at least have the scent of something familiar to take with them where ever they go?

If Master wishes, and if he has a minute, he can come take a closer look at the flowers? Kouyo gestures towards his fresh garden... though his smile starts to fade after a moment as a thought occurs to him. All of the ones he has are from the Capital City of the other Silver World, so Kouyo recognizes them ... he cannot say if Master Hitsuga will find they smell like home, though.
