It had been a long journey, and at last the group of 6 had made it to the pride they were searching for. A place to call home, somewhere they could all stay and feel safe, and be there for a long period of time instead of moving on daily. Semira had been looking forward to the chance to make it here, to find a new home, to be a part of something large. But now here Semira didn't know how to feel. She needed to make sure that none of these lions were the ones that destroyed her childhood.

Semira had stuck close to her make shift family over the course of their first few days in this new place. Although it had been hard to trust them at first Semira had come to love them, particularly Hitaahita, Teke, and Nasrin as they were together before Semira joined the group and as a result she had been able to get to know them better. They had all been so patient, and waited for her to come out of her shell.

Currently Semira found herself sitting somewhat close to the edge of the pride lands, usually she liked to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the pride but today she was feeling overwhelmed. Semira shuffled the sand beneath her feet attempting to make a pattern.

Unlike her dark-pelted friend Nasrin was settling in very well, though she still preferred the company of their small group, the ones she had come to call family. However she had missed being a part of a pride. This revelation was a surprise to her, but she had missed being amongst so many lions. Everyone ws being so nice and she was already begging to feel at home here. However she had noticed something was bothering Semira. Nasrin knew she had never been in a pride and that it must be harder for her to adapt than for the red and white lioness. She waited a couple of days, until they all got more or less settled before bothering her about it.

Today she had followed Semira to the outskirts of the pride lands thinking her friend could use someone to talk to. "What is on your mind, sister?" She approached and gently brushed her forehead against her cheek in an affectionate greeting.

Semira nuzzled Nasrin back. She loved her for coming to see if she was ok. "Its nothing Nas, its just well this place reminds me of my home when I was young, before it was raided by those lions, before I lost my family." Semira wished she could leave her past in the past but it was difficult, if she stopped remembering the pride she was in as a young cub then she would have to stop remembering her mother, father and siblings too.

"This is going to be home right Nasrin? And we are all here together with our family." Semira laughed when she referred to their group as 'family' everyone in the group felt the same, but when others heard them talking about being family, you could see their minds working hard trying to find any resemblances that would link this group as a family. Of course there was little to nothing that linked them physically.

Nasrin felt a painful pang at her heart as she did every time she was reminded of what had happened to her dear friend. Such a terrible thing...She couldn't believe someone could be that cruel. "I'm sorry, Semira. I'm sure that will go away in time." She said reassuringly with a soft smile. She wasn't completely sure in what she was saying, but she hoped it was true.

Nasrin laughed with Semira. "Yes, it is." She gave a brighter smile. "No matter what anyone says, we are a family. Everything will be alright as long as we are all together." She said with complete certainty.

Semira smiled at her sister, she was comforted by her sister being there with her, she knew she was right as long as her family was here together they would be Ok.

"So Nasrin, what do you think about the pride?" she asked her sister trying to lighten the mood. She felt bad dragging her families mood down with her sad past. She really just wanted to be a normal lion again. She really hoped that she would fit in with this new pride, perhaps even be able to extend her family.

Nasrin smiled at the way Semira changed the subject so fast. "I like it here, very much." She replied and her eyes sweeped their surroundings. "It's peaceful. Everyone has been very nice, too." At first she had thought the Jini-msemi were a strange bunch, but she had quickly warmed up to them. She was beginning to understand their way of thinking and their customs. "I feel like I belong here." It was the same sense of belonging she felt when she was with her friends. She had never felt this way in her birth pride.

"What about you? Do you think we can trust them?" She asked with a small smile.

Semira looked towards the main pride area. It was teaming with activity. This was her new home she said to herself, "Trust" she whispered. Trust was something that was particularly hard for Semira, it had taken her a long time to trust her family, but now she trusted them completely.

"I think maybe eventually they will show themselves to be trust worthy" she stated, she knew she hadn't really answered her sisters question but it was the best she could do for now. "They are at least very friendly" she said smiling. It was true her new pride had welcomed her and her family in with open arms, something Semria wasn't overly use to, possibly because she was always so guarded and had a lot of trouble letting others in.

Nasrin smiled at Semira's answer. She may have not actually given her a straight answer, but her words showed that she was willing to give them a chance. For now that was more than enough. "I'm glad you think so. It's all about attitude, you know." Nasrin hadn't expected the dark lioness to start trusting to this pride right away. Things seemed to be going well, though. She was optimistic about their future in these lands.

"Friendly...that's good." Nasrin nodded. "But we're still going to be your bestest friends for ever and ever, right?" She chuckled and gently bumped her shoulder into hers.

Semira smiled she could tell her sister was proud of her. She liked the feeling that it brought up in her, it was truly amazing the feelings a family could bring in her, she hadn't spent so much of her life alone. It was because of the time she spent alone that she appreciated the love and feeling that he family brought up in her. "Yes attitude" Semria said thoughtfully, going over in h er mind all the different interactions she had with the pride members.

"We will always be best friends my sister. You were my first sister" she stated kindly. "You have already taught me so much, and I am sure you will teach me more." Semira was always found of her sister, the lioness was very stunning and when the two of them were side beside she was sure that no one would notice the dark lioness next to her bright friend.

"You have to promise me Nasrin, that you will help me learn how to be in a pride. It has been to long for me, I barely remember my old home" She looked into Nasrin's eyes, she knew her sister wouldn't tell her no, but it was still rather uncomfortable for her to show her vulnerabilities.

A soft smile appeared on her lips at Semira's kind words. "And you were my first sister, too. And I'm sure you have things to teach me as well." She nuzzled her cheek affectionately.

"You can count on me, Semira. I'll always be here for you." She looked her in the eye. Her dark sister had been trough so much, but for all her insecurities Nas could see a strength in her red eyes. All she needed was a gentle nudge in the right direction now and then. Nasrin would always be there to lend a helping paw. "That is what sisters are for!" She broke into a smile again. She would never leave her, as long as she lived.

Semira smiled back to her sister, she knew the even though they were now members of large prides that her sister and her would stay great friends.

"I know I can count on you my sister." She gave her a quick nuzzle, and headed off towards here den. She was tired and was hoping to get some rest before the hunters came back tonight with some food.
