sorry if this is wasting your time, but it's been on my mind alot lately and i just had to put it out there...

what i don't get about things i've noticed a lot lately in life, is that no matter how nice you are to any number of people, you never get any respect back...like in my case, i try to be nice to everyone i meet and what do i get in return? nothing...not even a simple gesture of kindness like saying "thanks" or anything like that...i feel that if you do something for someone out of kindness and not selfishness, they should show you some kindness in return and not turn you down like you don't even exist...i feel as if every nice thing i do, i exist less and less in everyone else's worlds...like, again in my case, i was tutoring this girl in my math class for absolutely free, on my own time that i could have used for things that i wanted to be doing, when i could have charged her money or something and she never said thanks once or helped me when i asked her a question about something else...she wouldn't even lend me a pencil if i didn't have 1...i didn't have to help her, i do not even like her i could have easily let her fail the class and repeat it again and again till she understood it on her own...it wouldn't have harmed me one bit, but i wanted her to have as much of a chance of a good life as i do or maybe even a better chance... (she wants to get into a pretty big college and hardly understands basic algebra, so i was helping her get to her goal...) and she she shows no respect for that at all.........again, i think it is only fair to receive some sort of kindness for being a nice person to other people out of your own kindness and non selfishness....... Thanks for those who actually paid attention through the whole thing......you can post your thoughts on this if you want...

It sounds like, and correct me if I'm wrong, you're talking about people who are in your school, which are notorious for crushing those that walk it's drafty crowded halls of dreary...people give into peer pressure really easily and it's cool to be mean to nice people.
There is nothing WRONG with being nice, it's just a little wierd to some people beacuse being nice has nothing to do with what you want at times beacuse you're doing favors out of the kindness of your own heart, not beacuse there's somthing in it for you (that's called a job O_o).
That particular girl was a b@#$h for not thanking you, don't worry about it and bring an extra pencil with you from now on smile
