We would like to invite you to share a story or thought about your father or a person in your life that has been there for you.

Some of my fondest memories of my Dad when I was a child revolve around the garden. We had vegetable gardens, grapes, roses and more. I have only a 10th of his green thumb but it was always my favorite thing to do with him.

As an adult, my Dad has given me so much support with my health problems...taking from doctor to doctor. When I got cancer, I'll never forget him asking the doctor if all my problems were hereditary. I cried and the doctor then reassured us that it wasn't genetic. But my tears weren't about my illness but because it was one of the few times I've seen my Dad totally raw and open. I loved him even more that day and knew that every time that I wondered if he loved me as a kid - he did and I was just ignorant of it.

I've always seen his affection for my children and I know that he's a great Grandpa to them. I hope that I have the privilege of spending many more years with a man I knew so little about as a kid and who as an adult I've grown to love and respect and admire.

Happy Father's Day - Dad.

I remember when I came home from traveling around the United States, and my boyfriend "at the time" ditched me in New Mexico, and I had no place to go, but back to Wisconsin. And seeing as I never drove anywhere alone, I was scared to no end. --much less read a map!! When I finally got home, I was in such a depressed state, I was on suicide watch. My Dad came to see me and he said he was never one to express himself verbally, but said "I do love you, and I will do anything for you to help you get better." To me, that was monumental, because I was 33 when he said that to me. All those years, I KNEW he loved me, but to actually say it, took my breath away, and Yes, I did get better, strictly because of my Dad. I love him so much. He just turned 75 in April of this year, and I would do anything for him......
