Jedidah sat on the bank of the river, far away from her new den and that of the creature that had her more or less enslaved. She was tired of watching him and that crazy female mistreat the pups in her presence, so she had left for some time to visit the only creature from her past who knew where she was, the tiny otter Amorpho. The purple, cloth-covered mini watched her with solemn gold eyes.
"You'll be careful, right?" she asked softly as the small otter pulled the protective sheet from over his body.

Amorpho smiled softly as his numerous scars were revealed.
"Pain is but a moment. I shall stop you when the time comes," the small otter replied in a weak, airy voice as he held out one tiny paw towards the much larger, demonic female.

Despite the fact that they had done this a few times in the past without incident, 'Di was ever uncertain of herself. Angelus' influence was making her control less and less, and the last thing she wanted to do was damage or even break her little friend.

Amph had been one of the few of the mini otters that were under her father's charge that knew of her abilities and hunger. Abel and 'Di had felt it better if few knew what they truly were. They were frightening things when fully unleashed and yet they did not want the fear of others. Simply the acceptance.

Amph was too knowing and observant in his quiet ways not to notice when she started to change while consuming some of her mother's concoctions. After a while, he approached her and offered her aid should she ever need it. He was, in truth, her only friend. She hoped no one ever found out.

She sat in front of him so that she could gently take his paw between her much larger ones, bending her head so that she could make a tiny hole into the skin on the otter's wrist. The blood flow was frustratingly slow at first, because the hole was so small, but after a moment, her body called out to it, pulling it out faster despite the size of the hole. Her eyes fluttered closed as her claws and horns began to fade slowly from their ivory color to a deep red-black.

Amorpho's eyes were closed as his friend fed from him, his focus completely on his own body and how it was faring. He was so small compared to her, and if they weren't careful, she would take too much and then he'd be done for. His existence was difficult and he was not afraid of death; there were too many other things he was afraid of to add that to the list. But he would hate to see his friend suffer. And going without this type of nourishment hurt her more than it hurt her father. If he died, she would have no one.
"'Di, that's enough," he finally growled out in his damaged voice and swatted her nose with his other paw, feeling weak despite his tone. The female pulled back with a whimper, both eyes red as she raised a paw to rub at her nose. The tiny male slumped a bit, breathing heavily and swaying slightly in his sitting position.

He wasn't quite sure what to think.

He found it sorta disgusting, how any otter could drink another's blood without even batting an eyelid. But the other otter - that small one, covered in a sheet - didn't particularly seem to be complaining. Perhaps it was a relationship they had, albeit a rather complex, odd one. But he still found it disgusting. Was it even possible to have vampire otters? He knew that odd, mutant otters could be found - heck, he was one of them - but he had yet to meet a vampire. Surviving by drinking the blood of another must be a cursed life, but this otter in particular seemed to be quite in control, and almost afraid that she might hurt the tiny otter she was drinking from. So surely she wasn't evil?

...Why the hell was he thinking about this so much?

Sitting in the shadows a little further up the bank, Logan had witnessed the whole event, having woken from a nap to find...well. A fellow demonic otter with a smaller otter, drinking said smaller otter's blood. He watched with interest as her - the demonic - horns and claws turned red, his own chestnut brown eyes flashing in surprise. He hadn't know that could happen - his claws always stayed the same colour. His actual claws, that was. Not the adamantium ones enfused to his skeleton.

Eventually deciding it was time for a walk, Logan pushing himself to his feet, cracking his limbs in order from his ankles, to his knees, to his back and then finally his neck. She sighed contently as the tensed muscles in his neck clicked, relaxing in a more comfortable way. He watched the otters before him with a strange expression, weighing up the advantages and disadvantages, before deciding that another otter with strange abilities would be a good ally. He strolled down the bank at a leisurely place, no hint of emotion on his face until he raised his eyebrows as he came to a halt, sitting himself a sensible distance from the female.

"Yer a little odd, aren't ya, bub?"

'Di jumped at the sound of another's voice, her eyes glowing in warning. Her brain registered Amph slipping back into his sheet and fleeing from her as best he could, at a wobbly run. She didn't think him cowardly, more sensible. They both knew that in a threatening situation, he would just be a liability.
"Who- who are you?" she asked, her voice some parts timid and other parts fierce. She put on a brave face. She was a demonic, after all, daughter of Abel Nightroad, and still partially riding the high of her little friend's mostly bitter, but tasty blood.

She jumped, bringing about an amused chuckle in the male. He hadn't meant to, but now he had why not enjoy it? It was quite amusing, to see someone jump in surprise. He hoped, however, that it was more his sudden presence rather than his physical self that had provoked such a reaction. He watched as the smaller otter fled, slipping back into it's sheet and racing off - shy, perhaps? Logan didn't know, but he didn't particularly care either. It was the larger demonic otter he was interested in.

"No need to be scared, bub. I'm just another weird one, like you. Yer can call me Logan, though. How 'bout you?" he spoke, a slight amused smile twitching the corners of his mouth.

'Di puffed herself up even more, her eyes narrowing slightly as she gained her courage back with her temper. She hated being called scared.
"I'm not scared. And you don't look weird to me," she shot back with a small glare accompanied with a low growl. Her horns and claws began to slowly fade back to the normal color as the blood worked its way into her system. The high faded with it and her normally blue eye began to return to that color with her claws and horns.

'Di was unique in the world. Not even her father was completely like her. There were similarities, but more differences between their natural make-up.
And why did he keep calling her "bub"? She frowned, her brow creasing a bit.
"Why do you keep calling me that?" She avoided telling him her name. They fewer who knew who she was, the less likely they would run into her parents and tell them about her. She didn't need her mother and father knowing where she was or what she had been doing. It was hard enough to live with Angelus and that crazy little toy of his. She didn't need any more difficult things to deal with.

Not scared? Well, alright then. If she said so. But that amused smile just grew wider on the male's face as he gave a light chuckle, shaking his head. Didn't look weird? Well, he'd have to show her then, wouldn't he? Slowly - very slowly - his adamantium claws began to creep out from the skin between the toes on his front two paws, three claws per foot creeping out further and further until they were at their full length, Logan lifting a paw and facing it towards him, turning it from side to side to show them off.

"Not weird, eh?" he spoke with amusement, watching as the metallic claws caught the sun, before bringing them down on a log situated behind him, slicing it into shreds in a demonstration. "Funny - I reckon I am."

He noticed her claws changing colour, back to one that was more normal. And her eyes were, too - one was changing back to a pretty blue colour. Huh - fancy that. He hadn't known that the blood changed the colour of other parts of the body, too. His own forehead creasedin minor confusion at her question before he shrugged his shoulders, clawing lightly at the ground with his metal claws. "What, bub? It's just what I do. If yer don't like it, I can try stop?"

The smaller demonic's eyes widened as long, sharp... things came out of his paws. He most certainly was different than the normal ones. But he most certainly was not like her.
"I guess you are different. At least you can hide it, though," she shot back in a somewhat sulky manner as she sat back down, looking down as she smoothed a crease in her skirt. As she started coming back to her normal self, her temper started to ease away. Her ears drooped a bit over her manner and she sighed softly.

"It seems like a masculine term, that's all. I'd rather be called something more... feminine, I guess," she replied, her brow easing as she looked down at her claws frowning a bit at them.
"New around here, Mr. Logan?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 12:55 pm

Hide it? Logan chuckled again, amused at the seemingly sulky demenour the female had taken on, his own tail flicking from side to side behind him as he watched her carefully with his chestnut eyes. "Ah, but had I not been convieniently placed further up the bank, I wouldn't have know about you, either."

It was a point he wanted to get across, enjoying proving others wrong. Arrogant, he? Noooo.. His forehead furrowed in mild confusion at her statement, however, Logan cocking his head to the side as he mulled over the idea of 'bub' being a masculine term. it was just a word he used. It was as much a part of him as his claws, so it would be difficult to make the effort not to include it in his speech.

"Well, perhaps if I had a name I could attempt to refrain?" he suggested with a smirk, reaching up a paw, using a metallic claw to delicately remove a piece of hair from his eyes - showing off, of course.

"Rather new, I suppose. Still getting used to the place."

Yeah, well you didn't see me when I was hungry, 'Di thought to herself with a small shudder. Already that sweet little voice in the back of her mind was wondering aloud over the taste of this strange demonic. It was a sort of game she had unknowingly inherited. If her father ever shared his past with his children, she would have known that he and his siblings had played games tasting their handlers, to see who was the worst human, in a moral sense. But she didn't know of this.

She decided to let that part of the conversation drop, not wanting him to know any more about what she was.
Damn, but if he didn't sneak that on her.
"You can call me... Jee, I suppose," she replied with a small shrug, still looking off. It was part of her name, so she would no doubt answer to it. Hopefully he wouldn't run into her family and mention her. Or what she had been doing.

"Even those born here have... difficulty," she added, her eyes narrowing a bit as her ears flicked back. Things hadn't been so bad when she was little. How could they have changed so much?
PostPosted: Mon Jun 22, 2009 1:21 pm

From the way she was speaking and the way she help herself, he had a feeling she wasn't telling the truth. But for once, Logan kept it to himself, simply inclining his head slightly to show acknowledgement of the name. Jee? Weird name - but then again, like he'd thought. Perhaps it wasn't the truth. She seemed quite awkward, though, and as much as he enjoyed teasing others, he didn't want to outright scare them.

...Well. unless they deserved it.

"Jee, then," he spoke, a smirk twitching the corner of his maw once again. All of a sudden there was the sound of metal as his claws withdrew into his paws, a tiny wince creeping onto his features before it was gone, the skin healing over the wounds that were left within mere moments. He nodded again once having recovered, glancing to his left and down the river, wrinkling his nose a little. "I have yet to source out the best fishing spots, or those for the best naps - although, I have grown quite fond of this bank."

He paused, lazily scratching his neck, before casting his eye back over 'Jee', "How long've you been here then, bub?"

'Di glanced up as he re-sheathed his "claws", an almost child-like curiosity creeping onto her face before it was stamped down by a passive mask. She was getting better at hiding her emotions, though some were taking slower time than others. She had to learn to do so. If she didn't, he would be able to tell when she was worried after the cubs, or at the very least that, despite her blood-induced words, she actually did care from his children. He already had enough leverage against her. She didn't need to give him any more.

And there was that bub thing again. She inwardly rolled her eyes and shrugged.
"Depends on what you mean by here, I guess," she paused, looking at the trees around them.
"I was born in this area. But where I live... I haven't been there long," she ended with something of a mutter, her eyes caught on a squirrel's nest in one of the trees. It reminded her of home.
Her real home.

He watched her for several moments, eyebrows furrowing as he thought he saw a hint of a foreign expression on her face - surprise or curiousity, perhaps, he wasn't sure. But as quickly as it appeared, it was gone again, and he shook it off once more. Usually he'd pry - he didn't care if he offended - but he could tell this 'Jee' was stubborn. Even if he pushed she wouldn't open up, and there was no point in pursuing a pointless task.

Depends? He nodded, curling his tail around his body as he sat, surpressing a yawn lazily with one paw before blinking, watching her absently. "Where do you live then, hmm? Anywhere near here?"

He was simply making conversation. If he wasn't, then he'd be bored. Simple.

The smaller female's eyes narrowed at him with that question.
"What's it to you?" 'Di hissed, her ears twitching backwards in her suspicion. She had a feeling that he was just making conversation, but all things considered he was walking down a dangerous path. No one could know where she lived, for several reasons.

First, there was him. If he found out she had ever told someone else where they lived... there was no telling what he would do to her or her family. And while she could take any punishment the b*****d could dish out, she knew in her heart that he knew the greatest punishment would be against her family.

Secondly, what if this male was evil and joined him? She didn't want to think about that.
She couldn't let anyone know where she lived. If it ever got back to her family... they might come looking for her and could get hurt.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 07, 2009 9:36 am

His eyes narrowed a little, Logan raising a paw and holding it vertically, in a manner as to say 'Woa, back off'. He himself even stood, standing tall to remind her that he was bigger, and was probably stronger too. She didn't want to fight him. But he didn't think she would. He'd struck a nerve, and she wasn't stupid. He had to tread carefully - one wrong word and he had the feeling she'd turn tail and scarper.

"Calm down there, bub," he spoke, slowly and with purpose so as not to spook her, "I was just makin' friendly conversation. Y'know, like you do when you're trying to get to know someone."

He paused to let her take in what he'd said, before continuing as he sat down once more, watching her carefully, "If you'd...rather not talk about yer home, what would you like to talk about, then?"

'Di relaxed a bit, though her stance was still wary of him.
"I don't have friendly conversation," she shot back a little harsher than she had intended. This confrontation was getting worse and worse as things went on. She should have gone farther from the den. What if he was hunting and found her? He wouldn't believe her if she said she hadn't told this male anything. She couldn't tell him why she had come out here on her own in the first place. Amorpho was her secret, he was safe only because no one knew he was helping her with her problem.
She looked down at the ground, biting her lip as a small look of worry mixed with fear for her friend worked its way onto her face for a moment, lingering briefly before she caught herself again and schooled her face back into the mask.
"I shouldn't be here..."
