@ Lady Kayura: It's because bananas have soul sucking powers! They look all innocent with their yellowness but THEY LIE!!!
I got bored today so I actually looked up why this happens. Bananas release ethylene gas when they ripen. Apparently, it causes other fruits to ripen as well.

Ah, I see, that's interesting. I'd wondered for a while why that happens but for some reason I never looked it up. Though I prefer the soul sucking powers explanation. xd
