Meeting Toshi ... Meeting Fei'ji [ October 30, 2005 + complete ]Hakari-chan Hakari meandered about the shop, a little aimlessly. She listened as the shops patrons chatted in the background as she walked here and there straightening up. A small, glowing, child like being followed along in her wake, keeping close and looking about her curiously with bright pink eyes. Toshi kept close to her keeper, paper lantern bouncing against her back slightly as she walked along, keeping quiet and watching all the much larger people around her. Hakari had said there would be others like her around, but so far she hadn't seen anyone besides feiji. She had heard that there was another boy named dusk. Toshi thought it would be nice to meet him. perhaps he could be her friend too.Rown Rown smiled, bowing. Dusk followed suite beside her, his a little clumsy and not as clean as Rown's. Depsite this Rown smiled happily and patted his head gently, ushering the small boy towards Toshi.
"Of course, Ha-chan. I wouldn't miss coming here for anything. Afer all, any place of yours must be worth visiting. Dusk, remember to say hello as well."
She sent a smile in Toshi's direction, patting her head as well. These children were so cute! With another push, Rown moved Dusk closer.
Dusk stumbled as he was pushed forward, his ears twitching as he stepped closer to Toshi. She smelt nice too, but he guessed everyone had to. She was pink after all, so pink things probably wouldn't smell bad for any reason.
"Hello. Who are you?"
His expression lapsed into a rather sheepish frown, his hands holding his lantern and causing it to sway. He moved one leg behind the other, snug inside his sweater. Hakari-chan "You're too kind Rown." Hakari said and gave her friend a hug. "Say, would you mind helping me set out these pumpkins and lighting the candles?" Hakari asked, gesturing to the dozen or so pumpkins in the middle of the floor. "Just set them wherever they look nice." She said. "Hi! I'm Toshi!" the little girl said brightly. Her smile seemed to light the room as well as her lantern did. She stepped forward and gave him a quick hug. being a child, she wasn't really aware that this could come off as strange or embarassing to most people. Really she was just copying what her keeper had just done with her friend Rown. Friends hugged each other, right? And surely this boy would be her friend. "What's your name?" she asked, stepping back and tilting her head slightly to the side with a cute frown on her face.Rown "Of course, of course."
Rown brushed her hair behind her ears, a smile crossing her features. She took her jacket off and tossed it somewhere, not caring where it landed or on whom it landed.
"Anywhere, eh? This oughta be fun."
Dusk raised an eyebrow as Toshi's arms enveloped around him, his ears bouncing up and down quickly. Hugs were okay, and since something pink was hugging him it was all the better. He liked pink things, yeah.
"Ton-chan, okay. Kachan calls me Dusk, so I guess that's my name. You can call me Dusk if you want, but I'm sure I'll answer to anything you say in my direction."
He bowed his head again, as he had seen people do in the shows that Rown was always watching. Ton-chan was cool, he liked her. Hakari-chan Hakari only laughed at her friend and then turned as she heard another person walk in. "Oh, hey there Alex! want to help us decorate?" she asked her other friend, holding up at pumpkin to show what they were doing. Toshi smiled and then tilted her head to the side, a cutely puzzled expression on her face. "Why did you call me Ton-chan, Dusk?" she asked. She was sure she had introduced herself as Toshi. She didn't really understand.Rown Rown feigned a smile as she greeted the other, her mind really set on the pumpkins to do anything else. They should all get arranged somehow, making themselves so cute it would be sickening. Like tofu.
Dusk blinked, shrugging sheepishly.
"Why not, you're Ton-chan. Ton-chan is Ton-chan, so yeah. Dusk is Dusk too, in case you were wondering." Potato Lord Potato Lord walked into the room with Fei'ji trailing behind him and said excitedly " Where's the punch?" Hakari-chan Hakari looked around a third time and waved to potato lord. "Oi, spuds! come help with these pumpkins!" "I...Guess that makes sense..."Toshi said, but then just shrugged and grinned. She smiled even more when she saw Fei'ji enter with potato. "Fei'ji Fei'ji Fei'ji!" she said and ran over to the other little boy. "Come see come see! there's a new boy here!" she said, grabbing him by the wrist and tugging him over to where Dusk was. "Dusk, this is Fei'ji, Fei'ji, this is Dusk!" she said and grinned.Rown Dusk looked at the new person, a rather sheepish expression on his face. There was someone new, someone white. White was a cool colour too, but not really a favourite. Ton-chan was still cool because she was pink. Pink was good, yeah.
"Hello, I'm Dusk. Ton-chan called you Fei'ji, so you're Fei'ji. That works, yeah."
He bowed his head, the braid that rested behind his shoulders swinging up and around. When he lifted his head back up his face had a smile on it, a pleasant one.
"Fei'ji, Ton-chan, what now?" Potato Lord "Nice to meet you, Dusk." Fei'ji said in response to the bow. "Hmmm...what to do...what to do?" the pale looking boy pondered as his eyes darted about the room looking for something interesting. "How about we.." his eyes fell upon the smiling pink girl that stood next to him "..ask Toshi what to do?" Fei'ji said as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

Pastries and Loud [ November 30, 2005 + complete ]Hakari-chan Toshi sat at a small table beside a market stand that sold delicious pastries. The lanturn child was of course eating one of said pastries with great satisfaction. She kicked her legs idly as she nibbled daintily on the pastry, enjoying it greatly. It was afternoon and the umbrella attatched to the table shaded toshi as she ate, her lanturn lighting up the little area. Rown Dusk peered around the corner at the table, his ears twitching and his face stotic. There was Ton-chan, but did she really want to see him? He wasn't sure, but he scooted out and over.
"Hey, Ton-chan. How are you, yeah?" Hakari-chan Toshi perked up when her nick name was called and she grinned after swallowing her bite of pastry. "Hi Dusk! Where ya been? I haven't seen you in forever!" she said and then mock-pouted at his long absence. Then she giggled and patted the seat beside her and said "Come sit down! do you want a pastry?" she asked, offering him her second one. "I don't think i can eat two." Rown Dusk shuffled over and jumped up beside Toshi, wrapping her into a hug before staring at the pastry.
"You eat these? I've never seen them before, since we don't eat many sweets at Kachan's house. Her mother is cutting back on sugar."
He sniffed the pastry, his eyes squinting but his mouth still stotic. Even when curious he looked dead. Alex Mustang Gokiloud walked in and looked about to see if any of the other lanturns were about. He shifted his lanturn on his hips. He shifted his little fur ears and blinked a bit. he spotted Dusk and Toshi. He gave a quick wave. Hakari-chan Toshi squeeked when she was enveloped in a hug. she grinned and hugged him back and then held out the pastry for him to take. "Yeah, i love them! Hakari has to make sure I don't eat to many though, she says i'll get fat if I do." she said and made a face. she took another bite out of the flaky pastry, savoring the filling as she did. "Try it! it has raspberry filling!" Toshi spotted a golden lanturn child further down the allyway and waved back. Rown Dusk nodded and took a quick bite, the jelly running down his chin when he didn't open his mouth enough. It was sweet and bready and it smelt even better now that part of it was gone.
"Yeah, this is good. The jelly's sort of the same colour as you Ton-chan, which is a nice colour. But I won't bite you, since you aren't made of jelly. I think."
Dusk tried to move into a smile but he couldn't, and he followed Toshi's wave to the yellow figure that approached. Who was that? Alex Mustang Gokiloud then walked up the the girls. He had yet to meet dusk but he had met Toshi. He looked at Dusk and was puzzled by her. He wondered why she wore a sweater. He could smell something sweet though and good. Hakari-chan "Nope! No jelly here!" she said and poked herself, giggling as she did so. when he approached, Toshi smiled at Gokiloud and said "Hi Gokiloud! how have you been? This is my friend dusk." she said and pointed to her friend. "Dusk, this is gokiloud." she said and pointed to him. Rown Dusk tilted his head to the side as Toshi introduced this new person, a person in a colour he wasn't fond of. Yellow was always too bright, and it reminded him of lemons and pain.
"This isn't Fei-fei? There are more than just Ton-chan and Fei-fei?"
A slight frown began to creep over his features, which was odd. Alex Mustang "Hello Toshi and Hello Dusk," he replied. "How are you two this holiday season." He gave a warm smile. "Anything new with you Toshi?" He this looked at Dusk. He was a he. From far away it almost seem like he was a she. He wonder why Dusk looked at him as if he were in pain.

Journal Entry #1 "Introductions?" [ December 2005 ]
My name is Dusk, and I am a Lanturn. At first I didn't really understand what that meant, but Kachan assures me that she loves me no different. I love her too, Kachan that is. But sometimes I wonder how she feels about herself.
Oh, writing. Kachan showed me how to write a few days ago, and she says she's so impressed at how fast I picked up on it. I'm happy too, since she's always doing her best to teach me new things. Soon she says she'll teach me how to cook and bake more in the hopes I can open a bakery when I get older. I want to open a bakery too, not just for Kachan. - --
I have a very nice friend at the store I go to a lot. Her name's Ton-chan, and she's very pink and smells nice. I like being around her since she says I smile when I'm with her. I don't really know what a smile is, but Ton-chan says she likes smiles so I'm always with her to give her smiles. Oh, did I mention that Ton-chan's pink? It's one of my favourite colours, sincee pink's close to purple. I'm purple, by the way. Kachan says when I say that it makes her think of a Sentai series, but she won't explain why.
Anyway. Also at the store I met two others named Fei'fei and Loud. I like Fei-fei even though I only met him once, since he was such a soft and pretty shade of white. His personality also seemed soft, so I want to get to know him more. Maybe he's a lot like Ton-chan, and I'll become a good friend with him too. As for Loud, he's yellow which is too bright, yeah. Kachan says I shouldn't be picky about the colours I like and the people who are them, but I can't help but shy away when I see him. He hurts my eyes sometimes, and...his hair is wierd. Of course I can't be rude and talk like that.... - --
Oh, I'm going to go now. There's noting else to say, since Kachan hasn't done much. Her computer is always acting up so I can't go to the store as often. i miss Ton-chan...

Meeting Braeden [ December 8, 2005 + complete ]Chegrin Braeden nudged a rock with his foot, watching it roll around. His inquisitive eyes were cast downward, the wind uplifting his black scarf and carrying it behind him like a pair of long black wings. Despite his almost melancholy look, the infernal smile had never once left his face, making him look almost dreamy, and rueful. It was cold, but he didn't seem to mind, the heat inside of his body was still just as hot as when he was a lanturn, and like a beacon in the dark, Braeden stood out, the entire area around him tinged with his orange essence. Rown Dusk watched the person kicking the rock with a slightly intrigued expression, if you could call his usual stone face 'intrigued'. He didn't really feel like talking to get the attention of whoever this orange person was, since he was amused enough just to watch.
This person was orange, not yellow or white or pink. It had to be someone knew as well, since orange was not a colour in his memory. He liked orange, or at least he thought it was okay. It was pleasant to his eyes, not too bright or too dark.
"Phwee." Chegrin Braeden's roped off hair hung down behind him, tuft of exposed hair brushing his behind slightly. He was used to the sensation though, and didn't continually think something was crawling on him. As Dusk arrived, the wind died down slightly, making the air silent and heavy."Phwee."Someone had snuck up on him!! Turning slowly to not look startled, he peered at Dusk, who was just staring at him. Liquid silver eyes roved Dusk quickly, and he smiled. He was cute.
"Fwee." He replied, clasping his hands together. Rown Oops. He'd made noise and attracted attention. Now he couldn't observe anymore, but that didn't bother Dusk much. The Orange person had a nice voice, at least for what he could hear. He already liked him a lot, and when Braeden copied Dusk's sound in his own way, they were destined to become friends.
That is, if Dusk would move over and talk. He really didn't want to, so perhaps they should keep a distance and make sounds towards one another. That would be fun enough.
"Meh meh."
He wiggled his ears, which stood out as white amidst his black and purple hair. This person had a scarf and a smile, so it was odd. Maybe. Chegrin Braeden giggled slightly. Dusk seemed cool, he wasn't either oddly shy, or put off by him. At least, not yet. The purple one's voice was kind of soft and quiet, pleasant. He shifted his weight onto his left foot.
"Wheeooo." He sighed, watching Dusk's ears with interest. They were the same color as his sweater and leg things, and oddly cute as well. Was...Was his hair in a braid? He loved braids! Rown "...What kind of sound is that? Animals don't make that sound, yeah."
Dusk blinked several times and felt that he raised an eyebrow, but in reality his face didn't change. It stayed the same as it always did, the same corpse stare. He moved forward, towards Braeden and the scarf that whipped around his body. The closer he got the more he was aware of the orange colour, but he didn't mind. He liked orange, and this would be his friend. Friends were always good.
"Yeah. You're a nice colour like Ton-chan, but not the same at all. Who are you?"
To the point as always, Dusk blinked again. His ears bounced as he looked closer, interested. Chegrin "What animal goes Meh Meh?" He queried in reply
Braeden was amused, standing still as Dusk approached him. It was almost creepy how his face never moved, his voice was pretty monotone when he spoke. It was different. Braeden was already calculating to see if he could break the stonewall exterior, but that might make Dusk dislike him.
"I'm Braeden. Who is Ton-Chan?" He didn't remember anyone by the name of Ton-Chan, though he had met a Riyana, and T'li. "...Thank you." He added, almost as an afterthought to the compliment. Rown "Oh, so you're Kin-kun, okay."
Dusk totally swung out on a nickname, not relating at all to Braeden's actual name. In reality he was thinking more of a pumpkin, aince Braeden was orange like one and pumpkins were among Dusk's favourite things.
"A sheep. Makes the meh meh sound. Like that. Meh meh. and Ton-chan is Ton-chan and no one else. Make sense?"
His words were chopped as he spoke, though he didn't care if he was making Kin angry. He was really interested in his colour, that's all. Chegrin "Kin-kun?" He asked, wondering how he got Kin kun from Braeden. Okay, no deal, whatever. He'd been called worse under his father's breath.
"Is Ton-Chan a friend of yours?" He asked, chosing not to argue over whether or not sheep actually went Meh meh. What about phwee? What animal went phwee? Dusk's logic made sense in a way that was both blunt and did not fully answer the question at the same time.
"Who are you?" Alex Mustang Gokiloud hopped in and then wonder around. He looked about to see if anyone was about to hang with. His furry like ears shifted about. He spotted a very orange being. He spotted Dusk as well. He wonder who else was about. He had yet to met everyone. Rown "Kin-kun, yeah. As for me, I'm Dusk. I have sheep ears so I know they say Meh meh. Also Ton-chan is pink. I like pink."
He blinked several times and squinted, his eyes catching somethign bright in the distance.
"Oh, here comes Loud. Yeah, he's like you but too bright. I don't like bright colours, they make me feel unahppy. But you're a nice colour so I like you a lot even if you don't like me."

Journal Entry #2 "I want...to see..." [ January 2006 ]
I...I want to see her again. I...I want to see her smile for me once again.
I really don't know why, since she's just someone I met once. Yet...I can't get her out of my head. It's weird, not like how I feel with the others and Kachan.
I know it's not love, since I feel the same towards the others around me. But for some reason she's in my mind; her pale colour and her sad manners still fresh in my memories.
Perhaps I'll see her again soon, and she'll smile for me then. I'll smile for her, and only her. She's at her best when she smiles, so I'll try the same.

Hakari-chan Rown Dusk blinked as Toshi asked him about the Others, and naturally he did his best to comply. Toshi's wish was his command after all.
"The Others are these two teen boys Kachan has. They live in this one room that's like a garden, and it's dark in there most of the time. They're twins, and they both have wings. One's named Sol and he's really nice. He's got pointy ears, tan skin, and large white bat wings. I like him a lot."
Dusk nodded to affirm the fact, since the Kind Other was always on his side. Sol had often protected him from harm [aka Lune] and was there to test foods. Sometimes.
"Then there's Lune. He's really wicked nasty and isn't afriad to show it. He's got jet black hair and pale skin, with these large black wings. He's mean to me sometimes, but then other times he sits and thinks. He sings a lot too, mostly opera. When he sings...he seems really sad. Like he's singing for someone not there anymore."
Dusk looked at Sinn for a moment before quickly switching his gaze to Gokiloud. He smiled at the smaller lanturn as he listened to his own question, wondering really if Sinn was God or Father. Either way, they would make mints that night.
"The both sing, the Others I mean. But Lune sings more than Sol...and he cries sometimes too. Usually when I catch him crying he beats me so badly I collapse and Sol has to save me. Then Kachan steps in and it's a huge mess." "Lune sounds mean! You shouldn't go near him Dusk! I don't want him to hurt you." She said worriedly. Even if this Sol person was there to help, it seemed Dusk would get hurt anyways. Toshi was about to say something else when Sinn shut his fan with a loud snap that made her look around in surprise.Sinn's eyes were blazing angrily, as though he had taken offense at something. "Do not...speak of Lune that way, either of you." The man said in a low voice as he looked at them withe piercing golden eyes that resembled a bird of prey's. He shoved the fan into his belt and stalked into the shop, slamming the door behind him in a flurry of long green sleeves and blonde hair.Rown Dusk flinched at the sound of the fan, quickly latching onto Toshi in a subconcious move. He bured his face into her shoulder until Sinn was gone, wondering many things about Sinn and Lune's relationship.
Perhaps it was best left alone, so Dusk intended himself to keep it that way. Sinn seemed scary to him, just like that other larger person...
"Ton-chan, did I really do something wrong? All I did was tell the truth, like Kachan always has me do. Was that a bad thing?"
He couldn't understand hurting someone's feelings without purpose, so to have Sinn stomp off really confused him. Hakari-chan Sinn whirled on the woman, the coat draped across his shoulders flaring out like a cape, his hair doing the same before they both settled elegantly across his back and shoulders once more. His eyes were still blazing, but not so much as before. The tall, tan man reached for his fan and snapped it out again and began fanning himself again. "What is it you require?" The man asked bluntly, clearly not much in the mood for formalities.Toshi watched the man stalk into the shop, clearly surprised. Yes, Sinn had odd moodswings, but she'd never really seen him react like that before. "I-I don't know Dusk. I've never seen him act like this..." she said, patting his back, still looking at the door that Sinn had just slammed behind him. "He must know this Lune person you were talking about...I wonder how? Has Lune ever said anything about Sinn?" she asked, looking down at Dusk curiously. Rown Dusk's ears turned a slight shade of pink as he nodded his head, confirming something. While it was true Lune often spoke about Sinn, Dusk had never taken any of it to heart. After all, Sol often told Dusk not to believe anything Lune said.
"The Mean Other - Lune - talks about him a lot. Usually on the rainy days or the days I catch him crying. Sol knows about Sinn too, but he doesn't talk much about him. He prefers to keep the Mean Other company and sing with him."
The sheep lantern boy pulled himself back from Toshi's embrace, looking towards the store with a stone face but panicing ears. He had forgotten now about the cupcakes or anything else, but would soon remember.
"Does Sinn talk about the Mean Other?" Hakari-chan Sinn rolled his eyes, though only one was visible. He took the lanturn from the woman without asking, and looked at it critically. He began to speak "It's male, died as a child in his former life, enjoyed books and games. That's all I can tell from his past life while he's still unmanifested." The man said, handing the lanturn back to Kalena. "He seems to enjoy you reading to him, as lanturns cannot see, though they are able to hear and listen." He said, ceasing to fan himself and crossed his arms over his chest. "Until he manifests, just spend time with him by talking to him, he'll be glad to listen. Tell him about goings on and such. He died quite some time ago. At least 50 years ago by the feel of him, so he won't know much about modern tech. You can talk to him about that." The elf explained. "Anything else?""I don't know..." Toshi said. "Sinn doesn't talk to me about his past much. Actually, he never has." she said thoughtfully. "He and my keeper talk alot though. I can never hear what they say from my room, but I can always tell they are speaking, and alot of the time they talk together until long after I fall asleep." She said. Rown Dusk nodded his head, munching on a cupcake that he had taken from the tin. There was no sense in letting them go to waste, so he would make sure to eat them before they cooled.
"I know it sounds like I spend a lot of time with the Others, but I really don't. Kachan forbids me from going there expect to drop off meals on certain days. I listen to her commands more now after the Mean Other nearly killed me...."
He somewhat shuddered at the memory, still taking care to finish off the cupcake in his hand.
"But Ton-chan, should we do something? I feel restless." Hakari-chan "Well that's good. I wouldn't want you to get hurt again!" she exclaimed unhappily. Her smile returned though when Dusk asked her if she would like to do something. "Sure! Umm...How about...er....Oh! how about we make mints?" she asked, clapping her hands together and smiling. Rown Dusk nodded and licked icing off his fingers, making a mental list of what they would need. After a few short moments he snapped his fingers, letting Toshi know his mind and his plans had finally reached a verdict.
"We're going to need cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peppermint flavour. I know it sounds wierd, but trust me. We'll also need a big bowl and some spoons."
He paused for a moment before going on.
"We don't need the oven though, which is a good thing since I've only used Kachan's wood oven. It's wierd." Hakari-chan "Oh...uh, we don't really have any of that stuff here at the shop..." she said, thinking. "But maybe we can go to your house? Oh, or maybe even my house! Whichever is good." she said with a smile. "There's always all sorts of cooking stuff at the house. Lots of people too, but we can still cook there." she said with a nodd. Rown "We can go to my house. Kachan's out for the day, but I should be allowed into the kitchen."
Dusk was happy to want to bring someone to his home. He'd never had a friend over before, and the fact that they could play in the kitchen made him even happier.
His ears drooped for a moment as he thought of what else he could do, and with a soft voice he spoke again.
"Maybe if you want to I can show you where the Others are. They'll probably sing for you too...but only if you want to see them Otherwise we can just stay in the kitchen." Hakari-chan "Okay! lets go to your house then!" she said with a grin. As she listened to Dusk, she thought. "Okay. I think I'd like to hear them sing." She said with a slow nod. Then she snapped her fingers as she had an idea. "Just a sec though, let me go do something real quick!" she said and ran back inside. A couple of minutes later she ran back out, smiling confidently. "Okay, I called a friend and he said he'd be there to help if the mean other tries to hurt us." She said with a nodd. "Lets go!" Rown Dusk reached out and took Toshi's hand into his own, a gesture not meant to be possessive but rather as 'yay, friends hold hands~! <3' He squeezed it softly as they started to walk, a knot welling in Dusk's stomach.
He was very happy that Toshi was coming with him to his house, but he was scared of who this 'friend' might be and what the Others might think of her presence. He shuddered even more to think what would happen should Toshi accidently slip and say Sinn. Dusk had learned not to ask the hard way.
"My house isn't far from here, and it's a really nice place. The kitchen's in a small area that's next to a swimming pool. After the swimming pool is the garden where the Others are. I have a room upstairs that I sleep in that's really nice."
He smiled as they continued to walk, hoping this would all go okay. Hakari-chan Toshi was all smiles as they walked together down the alley ways to Dusk's house, their hands swinging as they walked. She listened to Dusk's description of his house and smiled "It sounds really nice! I'm glad we decided to go to your house though, mines kinda far away so we would have had to ask sinn for one of the transporation spells Hakari keeps in the shop." She said. "My house is in a valley in the mountains. It's really big with a big wide open space where the house is, surrounded by woods and a lake." she explained. "We'll have to visit there one time. I think you'd like it there." Rown "A valley? That does sound nice. I've never been outside the city, or at least not while I've been like this. Kachan says the Others have never been outside before either, but that's okay for them. Or something."
Dusk stopped in front of a rather rambly house, one that barely looked one room let alone anything like Dusk described. His ears bounced happily as he pulled Toshi's hand inward towards the shack.
It was different, however, once he opened the door. What looked so small on the outside was actually huge on the inside, with several floors to be exact. The floor they stood on was clear marble, and the sounds of dozens of voices filled the air.
"This kitchen's through here. Do you want to make mints first or go see the Others? Either way we can do whatever you want, since you're my special guest."
He semi-grinned. Hakari-chan "Wow Dusk! That's amazing!" she said, marvelling at how the tiny shack was so much larger on the inside than on the outside. "Does your keeper know how to do magic?" She asked as she looked eagerly and excitedly at her surroundings. She stopped and thought for a second and then said "Let's make mints first, and then go see the others, then we can share them." She said with a smile. Rown "Okay, mints it is. and about the magic, I think so."
dusk took Toshi's hand once more and led her into a rather large kitchen, one decked from top to bottom in appliences and cupboards. There wa sa large fridge, which Dusk quickly opened and shuffled through, as well as several freezers.
"You might want to wash your hands in the sink. This could get messy, but it's a lot of fun. We can make other flavours besides peppermint, if you want lemon or vanilla." Hakari-chan "Peppermint sounds good." Toshi said as she went over to the sink and washed her hands, tossing her head slightly to get the hair out of her eyes. Next, she reached into a pocket and pulled out a few hair clips to pin her hair out of her face so that she could see when she started cooking. Rown Dusk returned with the items he'd mentioned before, quickly dumping them all together and stirring. He gave Toshi a bowl of the same, telling her to stir until it was hard.
Once the mixture was hard enough he made sure to give Toshi the flavour she wanted, and some red food dye to make the mints pink. He himeself chose to make lemon mints, so he used yellow die.
"They're done for now, so all we have to do is let them sit out. They'll keep for a long long time."
Dusk spoke over the gush of the kitchen sink as he rinsed his hands and the cooking untensils, hair and face lightly dusted with white sugar. He moved so Toshi could do the same, and he waited until she was done to ask her again.
"Now that we're done...do you want to see the Others? We can take them some mints, since the Kind One really likes them." Hakari-chan "No. Without absorbing another lanturn he will be small like many of the others when he manifests." Sinn explained. "Arian and Toshi have both absorbed a third level lanturn in order to appear the way they do now." he said.Toshi quite enjoyed herself while she made mints and while she washed up afterwards, she said "Let's go see them now, since I might have to leave soon." she said and dried her hands off. She found a plate and put some peppermints and lemon mints on it for the 'others'. "Okay, lets go!" she said with a smile. Rown Dusk swallowed a bit and then smiled as he watched Toshi get the mints ready. Everything would be okay, and the Mean Other wouldn't be in a nasty mood. He hoped so, badly.
"Okay then, it's this way. If anyone else talks to you on the way ignore the voices and keep going. Chances are they want something you can't give or don't want to give, so it's best to leave them alone. Ready, Ton-chan."
With another swallow Dusk started through to the garden, peeking over at Toshi every few steps they took. He was happy she would get to see the others, really he was, but he wasn't prepared for what they might do to her. If all got worse, he didn't mind dying to protect Toshi from harm. Not at all.
"Oh, what's this?"
A voice spoke through the bars of a cage as the pair neared the 'garden', which turned out really to be a large and dark bird cage with glass randomly scattered.
"Seem the little runt's come back today, and he's brought someone with him."
A flutter of wings followed the voice, and the figure of a person could slowly be made out as they approached the side. Lune. Hakari-chan Toshi nodded and kept her eyes down as they walked until they reached the cage like garden. Then she did look up. She looked at Lune and smiled. "Hello, I'm Toshi, Dusks friend." she said. She had an inkling that this was Lune, and decided that being nice to him would probably be the best way to get in his good graces so he wouldn't try to hurt herself of dusk. "We made some mints, would you like one?" she asked, offering the plate up to Lune. Rown Lune stared hard at the little before him, his face showing clear signs of disgust. It was to be noted that Sol wasn't anywhere around, so Dusk was on his own with Kachan being gone as well.
He looked exactally as Dusk had described him, down to the feathery wings on his back that seemed to bounce with anticipation. His clothes were looser than what he used to wear, his face was paler too. It didn't matter, as Lune was Lune. Once malicious, forever malicious.
"Mints? Get real. I'd rather eat feathers off my own wings before tasting any of your cooking. And you, runt. Why the hell did you bring someone here? You know you're not allowed here in the first place, yet alone with a date."
Dusk shivered and his ears flattened, yet he moved up and stepped in front of Toshi.
"Ton-chan's my friend, yeah. So you can't say anythign nasty to her. You can talk bad about me all you want, but not her. She's better then you anyway, and you can't get out. So....so try something."
Dusk's lower lip quivered, but he still remained standing. He decided to test his luck though, with Toshi here, because he wasn't exactally feeling all there mentally. This would end bad.
"Where's Sol? I need to ask him something about Sinn."
Lune's eyes narrowed and his wings flared out. A few feathers shook loose and fell, bursting into flame before they could touch the ground.
"Why about Sinn? Why are you even mentioning him, you little freak of a creature?" Hakari-chan Toshi could see Dusk shaking as he tried to protect her. She was surprised at how mean Lune really was. Did Sinn really know such a person as this? He was very rude and a little intimidating. "Hey! Don't be mean to Dusk! He just wanted to ask something about Sinn! And i do too! Sinn's like a big brother to me, what are you to him?" she asked, a little forward, and more blunt than usual. Lune wasn't using good manners, so neither would she! Rown The sound of cracking glass slowly started to fill the air as Lune seemed to get closer to the pair. His wings stayed furled behind his back, and his face drew into a wicked smile.
"What am I to Sinn? I'm going to kill him once I get out, that's what I am. He'll pay for what he did to me, to Sol as well. Hell he'll just pay for everything, now won't he?"
He continued to push against the frail glass that seperated him from Toshi and Dusk, the cracking noise getting louder and actual splinters appearing in the pane.
"You know, I might just want to get at both of you as well. Make Sinn pay by having his 'little sister' all torn to shreds."
"Ton-chan, get back!"
Dusk grabbed his friend and pushed her backwards as a crack errupted and Lune's arm flew through. Dusk moved to get away, but the spider-like fingers grabbed his braid and pulled him back. He let out a small shriek as he was yanked away, his legs kicking.
"Ton-chan! I'm sorry, but you need to run! I...I didn't think it'd be this way, I thought...."
Tears dripped down Dusk's eyes as his body connected with Lune's, who was at least a full head taller and a hell of a lot stronger.
"You thought my sweet brother would be here to help you out? Or our beloved Mother would run with magick a blaze? Wishful thinking little runt. Now that I've got you she can run all she wants....but you'll never see her again."
Lune's lips spread into another wicked smile, his face contortated with a mixture of rage and pure exctasy. Hakari-chan Toshi looked on in horror as her friend was grabbed by the frightening pale hand. She was snapped back by Dusk's voice, suddenly she screamed. "ANKH! ANKH, HELP!" she cried at the top of her lungs, tears pouring down her face. The moment she cried out a tall, ominous figure appeared. Blood red eyes assessed the situation and the man dove forward and suddenly dissapeared into Lune's body, long red hair fluttering as he moved soundlessly. He was larger than when SMAA was still open, he looked more like an adult, though he was definitely still the same Ankh. The same red hair braided off to one side, and blood red eyes to match. His white skin was paler even than lunes as it had already been kissed by death. "Remember me, Lune?" His whispery voice asked from inside Lune's head that he now occupied. "I'm afraid your revenge will have to wait my friend. Now lets put the little one down." he said and took control of his old friends body, making the hand release Dusk and then made Lune back away from the edge of the cage. "It is alright, he can not harm you now." Said Ankh's voice from Lune's mouth. It was soft and wraith-like. Not only the boy's voice and appearance had changed, but now he apparently had better control over his powers as well, meaning he could keep lune locked away in his own mind without letting him drift towards the river of death. Rown Dusk collapsed to the floor as Lune released him, his hands on his throat as he gasped for air. He dropped his hands away from his neck as he managed to crawl to Toshi, quickly wrapping himself in her arms and burying his face in her chest.
It was the stupidest thing Dusk could have ever done to Toshi, and he did it. Yet he had tried to be brave and protect her, but once again she saved his life. Dusk wouldn't be able to get out of her shadow, but at this moment it didn't matter. All he wanted was to be in her embrace.
"....Ankh? Figures."
Lune looked around in the darkness, shaking his head rather nonchalantly. He sighed and let his wings fold against his back, as in his own mind he was ever ready to spring.
"I should have known the little freak would have back-up. He's never come here alone since the time I knocked him out for a few weeks, so this was a rare treat."
He closed his eyes for a moment, letting a few tears drop down his cheeks. His sobs were silent as his shoulders moved, and he buried his face in his left hand.
"I...just wanted to see him one last time, but I guess that can't happen. Let's me go and I'll stay in my cage like the animal I am." Hakari-chan Ankh was quiet for a moment before saying "You can still see him...If you stop acting like this. You know Sinn wouldn't want to see you hurt these little ones." Ankh said in his quiet, gentle voice.Toshi wrapped her arms around Dusk, crying silent tears for several minutes before she finally said "Oh Dusk, you were so brave getting between me and Lune like that." she said and looked down at him. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" she asked worriedly. Rown Lune didn't respond to Ankh's comment, simply shutting off his ability to speak and feel. It didn't really matter, since he had no place in this world anymore. The place he had grown up in was gone. The people he knew were gone.
His childhood love....was gone.
Dusk flinched as Toshi's arms moved, his head bleeding a bit from where Lune had pulled his braid. Parts of his hair has come loose and several clumps were missing, but other than that Dusk seemed to be fine.
On the outside, at least.
"I'm...okay Ton-chan. Are you hurt anywhere?"
Dusk looked up from where his head was resting, his face tired and his eyes red from tears.
