Eli and Uzi moved quietly through the woods towards the carnival grounds. Alize, after hearing about their run in with Ellandra had made up some sort of neon orange concoction liquid that smelled better than it looked. His cousin had then insisted Eli take it to the woman in hopes it would prevent further sickness for her or the children she carried.

Uzi had invited herself along in the hopes of meeting Rhian and the other essentic that lived on the grounds. Slowly but surely she was becoming social if not yet overly friendly. The proto's golden eyes glowed bright for a moment as she picked up the signature of another of her kind in the area,

Uzi emerged first having been a few feet ahead of Eli, the essentic always preferring to be in the lead. Her eyes dimmed then glowed again, the horned man was not the essentic but not human either, interesting but not her main concern. No it was the strange winged one sitting beside him that had captured Uzi's curiosity, he was not a proto. Uncertain what to say all of sudden Uzi was silent.

Eli grinned and waved upon spotting Faolan and Ziazan, not who he'd been looking for but good to see regardless. " Hey there guys good to see you again, this is-"

" Uzi" The proto rumbled cutting him off, suddenly capable speech again.

"Thanks" Eli took the drink with much appreciation and moved to sit beside the other man. " I actually came to bring something to you wife but I wouldn't mind relaxing a bit first." the man had been doing a lot more walking than was normal even for him lately and it was starting to get to him. Plus he never had gotten around to actually visiting Fao like he'd promised.

Uzi's ears flicked listening to both sets of conversation before speaking. " Nice to meet you as well Faolan." The words were necessarily true nor untrue simply a required greeting, though the horned man seemed interesting enough.

With the others all knowing each other there was no need for Uzi to introduce Eli, instead she stared at Ziazan " You're different, how did you grow?" This other essentic was strange and yet Uzi felt less jealousy at their having changed than admiration. It must have taken such skill.

The redhead gestured towards the leather bag he'd been carrying with him. " My cousin made her a health tonic of sorts." He explained before opening his beer and taping a sip, ahh nice cold beer, completely worth making the trip regardless of the reason.


" Tactics are important" Uzi pointed out "Eli is bigger than me but a push to his leg will make him fall." Not that she'd dream of pushing him ever. " You wanted to look after him" She gestured to Faolan with a paw. " What is your purpose?" Whatever it was this alter had spunk and it was interesting, though Uzi highly doubted all the tactics in the world would help this strange small one defeat her.

Eli nodded "I know she's not sick now but Alize insisted and" he shrugged " it's hard to argue with her " The more time he spent with the half Chicome girl the more he remembered why his visits to her people's oasis always resulted in them arguing at least once. Still she had good intentions this time.

Uzi nodded though that wasn't exactly hard to guess, her form wasn't suited to most other types, well perhaps magicker. Orpheus was strangely shaped himself. " I'm a hunter."

Uzi wondered why humans were smart enough to create her kind and yet, they could not figure out all diseases, could not fix heart problems or make it so fear in a woman's blood didn't harm her children. There were so many healthy problems with this species, they were starting to seem much frailer than she had once thought.

Eli shook his head " Just that you guys were sick and it had affected them, she didn't seem keen to say more" and he hadn't wanted to press her about it. Well that and Rhian and Uzi had been somewhat distracting as well." she seemed very" Eli tried to think of think of the right word " well every out of it in a way, sort of sad and reluctantly hopeful." The man wouldn't push Faolan for details either but he was interested in knowing what exactly had gone on.

" No Kell is at home comforting Alize" Uzi assured Zia with a soft laugh like rumble. " This Herne sounds interesting, respectable" Recently the big cat herself had come to respect Kell or understand that she had respected him for a while, dogs were not so bad. " Except for the marrying the moon thing," that was just weird, then again Alize's pantheon of deities did weird things too.

" Why do you keep calling him Da?" though she was more interested in this Herne the question was nagging at Uzi. Though the essentic had calmed enough to lay down and rest her partially masked face on her massive paws.

Eli didn't think he knew how to raise a child at all, never mind a blind one so he empathized with Fao. It was in moments like these the man was glad to be celibate. " Not much although recently my uncle and cousin from the Chicome oasis came to stay with us." he sighed softly and rubbed at his temples. " All the magic they had wasn't helping him so he's seeing some doctors here to figure out what's wrong." Eli was hoping the recent tests would reveal something fixable.


Truly this god of the hunt Herne was one to be respected even if Alize stated that gods never showed themselves. " Does this Herne give people powers?" The Chicome seemed to think it was their deities that allowed their magic to work.

" You have an interesting bond with him " Uzi mused motioning towards Fao again. She was not quite sure how to feel about that compared to the.. something that was between her and Eli. They were not family but they understood each other.
