He was enjoying the early morning air while he walked along a path up higher in the mountains that his pride now called home. The sun wasn't too high yet so the glare was easy enough on his eyes. He was begining to like the early morning more now that he could also enjoy crisp clean air with it.

It was like watching the day being born in a strange way. Too bad he would have to return lower soon so the sun did not burn his vision

Yepa had made her way quickly over into the neiboring lands, before the sun had fully crested in the sky. Her curious nature had brought her paws this far before, and it had been a fruitful meeting of the minds. The storytellers where interesting to her, and had she not chosen to live with the Aali'makabila, she likely would have chosen this pride as her mortal home.

Her tail flicked quietly as she rounded the corner, catching sight of the white lion in the distance. She quickened her pace and called out to him, wanting to catch him before he vanished into the vast caves. "Hear any good stories lately?"

He paused as he head someone calling out to him. It was a voice he had not expected to hear so soon again. "I always hear good stories my lady." he laughed softly as he turned so he could look at her easier. "Every day is a good story."

and his youngsters had told him a wonderful story of monsters in the caverns that turned out to be nothing more than Kivuli playing with them.

Finally came to a stop as she neared him, close enough now to speak with out yelling at him. She chuckled a little and had expected nothing less in that sort of answer from him. Flicking her tail again she grinned at him. "Really now? well that is good, after all thats what I came over here for. I told you one last time, so I was thinking you might repay the favor with one of your cherrished legends."

"If you would like i believe i could indulge." he chucked lightly. He was always glad to share his pride's stories with any who wished to listen. It was good to know that there were those out there that appreciated them even if they were not part of his group who cherished them.

"Would you like to hear the one about monsters in the caverns i call home?"

Sat down before him like an eager cub ready for a bed time story. Her tail flicked around her paws as she looked up at him, smirking softly. "Monsters? Oh surely there could not be such a thing, but please continue and sway my mind." she chuckled.

Oh but their where monsters in the world and she knew better than to say otherwise. She wondered what his classification for monster was inhabiting his home. The white lioness huddled down for the story, content to listen to his explination.

He sat down carefully and pondered for a moment before he started his story.

"Two little cubs were playing in the caverns believing nothing was wrong with the day and nothing would happen except for someone winning tag. But there are worse things in the darkness than a loosing turn at tag...."

He could remember his his little ones had looked when they'd come running to him to tell him the story.

Yepa let her imagination take over as his story unfolded. She could see clearly two little cubs in her mind, racing and zig zagging though the caves, laughter echoing through the tunnels as they scampered along. She chuckled a little, cub activity was some of the most unique to watch and somof the most entertaining.

She nodded waiting for him to continue. Just what would find the cubs, or would they find the monster first and turn tail to safty? Already she was enthralled into his story, and it had only begun.

He was glad to see that she was interested in the story. It was almost like telling one to a cub with the eagerness in her eyes.

"Neither little one expected something was lurking in the dark watching while they rested from their last around of tag ... "He paused slightly imagining his boys faces when they heard Kivuli. "The first warming came with a low rumble in the dark, something following them .... the next when the huge figure of the monster pounced on the unsuspecting cubs..."

Yepa had continued to let her imagination wander as she listened to the story. She could see them resting there, perhaps swatting at eachothers tails and telling a funny joke before they gained the energy to run again. Then their little eyes going wide, and the sound of the rumbling echoing around them. A large hulking figure pouncing on one of the cubs causing the other to scamble away in fright, little paws flailng in the air. Oh she hoped the story ended well. "Oh my!"

He smirked slightly as he continued his story. "The little cubs flailed with all their might to get away from the monster in the dark ... at least until laughter made it's way through their fright. Their monster from the dark dissolving into the grinning form of an elder companion intent on a bit of fun of his own."

He had been surprised that Kivuli had thought to scare the little cubs but it had turned out to make a cute story and a good lesson. While it was good to fear the dark some times it often turned out that what you were scared of turned out to be nothing in the light of day.

The lioness chuckled a little, much like she could imagine hearing the cubs laugh once they knew what was happening. She grinned up at him, as her mind played out the story. Some monster indeed! Cubs often over exagerated what was going on and in this case the monster had only been an elder playing a trick. Though she knew the same trick might have even worked on an adult, she giggled. "Ah, nothing like a prank in the caves. I'm sure they learned a good lesson. Though you might want to warn the elder to watch out. My experiance in watching cubs has taught me they like revenge. " she laughed.

"I have no doubt that as they get older the little ones will find a way to pay Kivuli back for the trick." He chuckled softly to himself as he nodded. "They are smart boys and have no doubt already plotted out something."

Kivuli would hopefully enjoy it too. The young male seemed to enjoy the cub's company and could hopefully teach them to have fun while still learning new stories.

"Then it is hopefully a succsess on many levels. I look forward to hearing the story of the cubs revenge someday. Hopefully it is as well exicuted as their little fright was." she grinned, wondering how exactly the cubs would get the other back. It was just a guessing game at this point, as they grew they would no doubt become more cunning. This was a game taht could go back and forth for along time, each taking turns getting the other.

"I am sure by the time they have gotten their revenge they will want to tell everyone the story themselves." He laughed, tail ticking next to his paws slowly. "They are already eager to hear stories and tell them to others. It is a blessing to say the least."
