Name: Phoenix Anne Killion
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Occupation: Cook/mechanic: for all your broken thingamajigger needs!

Physical Description: Slender and short. She's 5' tall and has green eyes and short, straight-ish light brown-red hair. Her skin is pale with a hint of a tan on it, and a birthmark of, you guessed it, a phoenix-looking shape on her right forearm. She has a lovely smile. She tends to wear shorts and a tank top since she's working in hot places all days, may sometimes appear with grease smudges and the like, but she's still adorable. Reference
Personality: She loves to fix things. Hence why she asked to be the mechanic of the ship. Once she's in a situation where it demands her concentration she hates to be talked to. If someone does talk to her, she'll end up throwing a wrench or some other tool close at hand to their head. She'll do that anyway if she finds someone to be acting stupid or is messing around in the kitchen. (yes, she will throw knives, beware) She doesn't particularly like to be left alone in the dark, but as long as she has her flashlight she's good. She's one of those "Hey, I'm the boss in this area, don't tell me what to do" kind of girls. She can be a hothead sometimes, but is otherwise happy and quirky. Did I mention she loves to fix things? Although she loves to fix machines, she can't fix things like clothes or glass. She can be very clumsy when it comes to something glass that is also valuable. She has a history with those sorts of things. She also has the tendancy to say the wrong thing at the wrong time sometimes. It causes awkward moments and it makes her uncomfortable. She does enjoy throwing things at people...even for fun.
History: Before Phoenix entered the fleet of the Sartnys, she was a happy-go-lucky girl with the need for speed. She loved to race with skinheads and other "tough" men that were bragging too much for their own good. She'd always show them up, smiling as she did so. Phoenix loved to fix anything she could get her hands on. When working on her bike, she'd be able to fix it up and make it even better and faster than before (with no help from any man, mind you). She would keep to herself about her opinions and thoughts since she never really became close to anyone after losing her sister and parents in an accident. Phoenix taught herself how to cook, how to clean better, and how to be the best mechanic around. She was only tweleve when the accident occurred and she had started to teach herself then. It's been a heard eight years for her, but she has overcome many obstacles to get to where she is today.

When she was little, she always had trouble doing most things. She was clumsy and uncoordinated, which caused her to break many things in the household, especially glass valuables. Her mother would yell at her, but her father would just half smile and shrug it off. Thing could be replaced, but his daughter couldn't. She was only seven at the time when she really started to try to become more poised. She would train herself to not look at her feet as she walked, because when she usually did she would trip over her own two feet and end up knocking something over, like a lamppost in the house that would cause something else to fall over. A chain reaction would ensue, but Phoenix was determined to stop her clumsy ways and become a much less timid person. She had just accomplished not breaking anything for a whole month when the accident happened. She wasn't in the vehicle when it did happen, but she was heartbroken and alone. Her older brother had always been there to tease and tell her she can't do anything because of how clumsy she was, but losing her best friend, her father, made her that much more determined inside to do better. That's when she started teaching herself how to fix things. Her dad had been a mechanic and since she always looked up to him, she would do her best to read his manuels and any other books she could get her little hands on and read about it. After the accident, her brother was no where to be found. She was alone, but she never stopped working toward her goal: become a mechanic, and better young woman.

She had wanted to show these men up so badly that she was aching to get started. Her older brother had continuously picked on her and her sister when they were younger. He would especially pick on Phoenix. Telling her she wasn't good enough, strong enough, or brave enough to do the same things their father did. She had been determined to make it this far, and she did. It was a long and difficult struggle, and she continues to struggle with it today, but she has overcome many obstacles as she grew older.

Joining the fleet was something she had only dreamed about when she had seen the ship for herself not that long before they were set to head off to their mission. The ship had brought a new light to her eyes and a new hope to her heart. She had signed up for the mission once she discovered that they were looking for a mechanic. Of course, others, mainly men, had signed up for the position, too. Phoenix was determined to get the spot. The mechanics each had to show off their skills and compete for the one open spot left. She gathered her gear in a pack, attached it to her bike, and rode off to the contest site. All the others who had signed up for the position, a good ten or so men, had all looked burly and ready to tackle anything that would be put forth to them. They had laughed at Phoenix when she pulled up on her bike due to the sheer fact that she was a girl. All she did was smile, put her hands on her hips, and looked the object they were to fix, an old style car, right where the problem spot was. She smiled, "That looks hard."

The gun was shot for them to start. Phoenix walked calmly over with her toolbelt around her waist and bent over the hood of the car and reached in to grab the part that was loose. She grabbed a tool from her belt and fastened the part tight onto the car. She worked faster then the other men who had either already gotten themselves covered in motor oil or who had no clue as to what they were supposed to do. Going under the car, Phoenix worked quickly to fasten the and mend the broken axels, to put the tires back on one side, and to do much more to the engine. She finished in twenty minutes, while the others hadn't even finished in over an hour and a half. She was deemed the victor and asked if she had any other talents. After that, she also became one of the ship's chefs. Phoenix never felt more at home than now.

Particular Skills: She can dance very well and in many styles of dance that have been long forgotten. Her depth perception can be off sometimes. So, if she's racing right next to someone, and something pops up in the middle of where they're racing, most likely she will hit it and end up hurting herself.
Other Stuff: Her favorite phrase when sneaky up behind someone, "Ooga booga!"
Her phrase when about to fix something, "That looks hard."
Her phrase in general, "Don't make me throw this wrench at your head."
