personally i love seeing local colour rather than professional bands. dont get me wrong or anything i love professional bands, except something about seeing local bands and how good they are (or even if theyre not) makes me happy to see that at least theyre trying, ya know? or that some band we have here at home might reallybe the next big thing. it makes me proud

Local all the way. It's more personal and after their set you can chill with them, they don't go to their fancy rooms and leave. I go to shows all the time and I work for local bands, I love for the underground music. Plus they are so more appreciative of their fans.

Well, it seems rather conditional. If one of someone's favorite bands was playing, of course they would much rather like to see them perform than a band they had never heard of previously. But let's say that this person had heard of the local band and didn't think they were all that great. Now listening to them compared to listening to the creators of some of their favorite music would be quite an unpleasing and unparalleled experience.
But what if the professional band was one that this person didn't care for personally and the local band played just the style of music that they enjoy? In that case it would be wiser for the person to pick the local band over the professional one.
So yeah, it's all conditional.

I'm kinda torn. They both have their ups and downs. Sometimes great bands can sound like crap live. And with local bands they have to try a lot harder to impress the crowd since they're not big yet. But I do give them credit for being up there though.

I love the local bands more then the proffessional ones and I always find an excuse to see them. I've only once been to a proffessional consert for one of my fav bands and I was really dissapointed. So now it's local all the way! blaugh
