It was early in the morning and El was up already, she had been sick to her stomach quite a bit now days, and she wasn't sure why. It couldn't be the food she was eating, Kael was the one doing the hunting now that his paw had healed and he wasn't sick from the food.
She lied back down on the cave's floor, Kael and El had been calling the same place home for quite sometime now, she wasn't sure why he was instant on them staying put as both of them usually traveled around. It was when she lied down that she felt it, something moved... she checked and saw that Kael was still asleep it was something within her that moved. Slowly it all began to click into place, why she was sick, why Kael was being so pretective.
El jumped to her feet, and nudged Kael urgently, "Wake up wake up." It didn't take much to wake him it was as if he was just barely asleep. "Kael I am pregnant, and you knew, we are having puppies." Elaxi was rambling on and then she realized she was getting dizzy from the excitement and sat down quickly.

He'd been awake when she first had moved, he was getting more cautious now, she was furthering along in the pregnancy and was often sick. He worried about her all the time and the worry kept him up. Moments after she'd stopped her pacing and had laid down he felt the first movement. She had settled beside just enough to feel it. His heart leaped into hyper speed but, he held still awaiting her reaction. A few seconds later and she jumped up and thus was his wake up call. He smirked and sat up with her, she accused him of knowing and his smile only got broader. "Of course I knew!" He giggled softly. He didn't want to tell her why he knew because his past partners meant nothing. "Be still, love." He said softly and nuzzles her cheek and moves closer so he could nose at her already wiggling belly. He giggled when a small paw he figured batted the skin protecting them.
"You aren't upset with me?" He asked her. He wanted her to be happy and if having his pup's meant misery he'd never be happy again. He was smiling, eye's were twinkling and mood swung in the high. His tail just coudln't stop wagging.

"No I am not upset how could I be upset!" El was absolutely bubbling with excitement. She sat still so she could feel her pups move inside of her more. It was a weird sensation, she wondered how she didn't realize it sooner. She felt silly now for not recognizing all the signs. She snuggled into Kael's side.
"I wonder how many we are going to have, we are going to need to find a good home for all of us to live comfortably, do you think this place will be big enough, what shall we name them?" She looked around there cozy little den as her mind raced with question, question that had probably been bothering Kael since he realized the state she was in.
As if to come her worries, one of the pups gave her a subtle nudge and she quieted to feel it.

Kael was relieved. She would be staying with him and with pride! He wouldn't be just another parent who knocked some dog up. They were both parents, ready and excited to handle the mass that might be dumped onto them until El's brain kicks in. "Relax hunny." He says softly and a small movement in her belly ceases her hurried and worried voices. "See, they know you know what you're doing! You'll be the greatest Mom ever!" He smiled joyously and rests his head near her belly. A movement brushed his cheek and he couldn't help but, giggle.

El sat so she could enjoy her little ones moving in side of her, now that she knew that they were there she went into an imidiate nesting like state. She felt the urge to get up and clean, make her home a little more presentable, something that her babies would be healthy and safe in, not just the bachelor pad of two young dogs in love. She chuckled at her own thoughts, and decided instead to lie down next to Kael, and rest her head on his paws.
"Its going to be wonderful Kael, we will raise them properly and we can have a nice big family. I don't want to stop just at this litter, lets keep having kids, we will fill this den, and then move to a bigger one. It will be awesome." She let out a sigh, it didn't occur to her that she was perhaps scaring him all this talk of more kids, before these ones had even arrived. Her maternal instinct had kicked in full gear.

Kael was more overjoyed then even he thought he'd be. She was prancing about in her mind, he could tell but, about what? That he was sure to never know then she piped up. "Don't you worry a bit hunni-dear. That's a beautiful excuse to do what we did that night." He smirked cunningly and nuzzled her chin giving her cheek a loving lick on his way back to looking her straight in the eye. "We will have as many as our bodies can handle." He smiles brightly and puts his nose to hers.

El was so happy that Kael wanted to have pups just as much as she did. They would make such a large happy family. El thought back to her own childhood, she had only had a couple of siblings and her father hadn't been around much so she never really knew what a real family was. Just what she had seen from other families when she past by them.
"Who said we needed an excuse to do what we did that night" she said blushing slightly. She had really enjoyed that night, and in someways wished they could do it more, and for some reason (which now she understood) he hadn't wanted to do it again since that night.
"I'm feeling great hun, I think I can have tons of babies." she stated boldly she had little to no idea what she was in for, having never had pups, nor did she know anyone who had.

To see her smile, blush and be so lively sent a jolt through Kaels stomach. She really didn't know what she was in for. As much as it was exciting the birthing would be a pain. A real pain, not an annoyance pain. He cringed a bit at teh thought but, kept on smiling. "It'll be fun, my first family." He smiled sweet as can be even with the bitter truth slicking it's way into teh world in one swift statement.
In moments he curled around her, clinging to her, wanting her near him always, never in his life had he felt so passionately towards another.

El curled up in his grasp, almost as if the pups knew both parents could feel them, they started moving around. El giggled, and looked up into Kael's face.
As the excitement wore off slightly she began to think again, "Kael i have no idea whats going to happen. When will they come, are we ready for this." It was amazing how quickly her moods were switching, she could change on a dime. She stood and looked down at her body, could someone tell she was expecting, should she avoid going outside, would other animals try to hurt her..... would the dog catches try to catch her even more now..... now that she was pregnant. She looked down at Kael her eyes filled with worry.

Kaels mind was at ease, his health was restored and even if his paw got weak in the colder times he'd be fine to protect his family. "Come here." He smiled and stood towering over her a bit. He wasn't big but, he a bit larger then his mate. He moved closer to her and licked her cheek. "Listen to me."
He began speaking slow and soft. "i want you to worry about nothing more then keeping big and fat for our pups." His eye was on her's/ He was serious himself but, not worried. He'd keep her well and protected. If not he'd do away with himself. "We will do this, together and we will be ready." He reassured her with the same smile he wore the entire time.

He had a brilliant way of calming her down. It was very great to have someone who cares for you especially in the condition she was in. "You are right as usual my love. I should just worry about my babies and that's all" She looked down at her stomach her pups, that just sounded so good inside her head, "Our pups" she mumbled.
Laying down again she looked up at Kael, she was already starting to feel tired again, and she had only just gotten up, it was amazing how much the pups could take out of her. She looked up at Kael wanting him to lie down with her and hold her close again.

In an instant he had her balled up with him again. It'd be hitting cold weather soon and even he had to worry. But, winter pups would be fat and fluffy, that thought made him smile. "Our pups indeed." He smiles and rests his head on her shoulder and yawns slightly.
Pups take the most out of a couple he figured for they'd both been yawning the entire time they were speaking. He'd have to do a lot of hunting tomorrow, gather kills so he could store them and spend more time with El. Tomorrow... He yawns again before drifting to sleep.

Safe within Kaels legs, El began to drift into a peaceful sleep. A sleep that was filled with dreams of her beautiful pups that were on there way. It was amazing to think she was going to be a mommy. She smiled and drifted into a deeper sleep.

Morning seemed to come all to fast to Kael, though when he opened his eye's there was no sun. Then what was it that woke him. He got himself free of his slumbering beauty to go to the entrance and check out the coast. It was clear but, then he took in a big whiff. The humans had been by here. He growled low and bowed his head looking around a bit. The scent was a while old. Maybe they hadn't seen them? His hope only lasted so long and thus he turned to El to stir her to wake.
"El sweet heart we have to leave here and soon." his voice was rushed and spirited with anger at teh intrusion into his territory.

El was groggy as Kael tried to shake her awake. She panicked at first.... wondering if perhaps Kael knew something that she didn't were the pups coming, it couldn't be time yet. She checked her self over quickly, she wasn't in any pain and it didn't feel like the pups were coming.
She stood and looked at him, he seemed frantic. "What is it love whats going on." she was really confused. She eyed him over was he hurt, who was hurt. "Wait why do we need to leave?" she looked up at him her innocent eyes filled with worry.
