Oh how mornings seemed to come way to fast when you're finally sound asleep with all your energy pushed to its max and then some. Kitisho knew this feeling all to well. He was born a son of Mauja, a very energetic cheetah who seemed to enjoy nothing more then to test every limit he believe has been put on him.
Kitisho awoke and moved only slightly before hearing the first crack of the morning. Only then did he know it was really morning. He was only young and seemed to share bones of an old cheetah. "Dad?" He asked quietly as he could. The sun had still to rise from it's home beneath the horizon so Kiti could only imagine his Father was still resting from their long day prior. Once again he hadn't a clue, spontaneous was his Father's middle name. "Dad?" He tried again then pursued sitting still for a few minutes.

Hearing the squeaky sound of a cub, Mauja's eyes rolled back in his head. He wasn't used to being a father-- not in the least. The only thing his blurred eyes could see at the moment was darkness. Then why oh why was his son waking him?
He rolled over, his eyes slowly adjusting to the dark morning. He could finally see the source of the squeaking-- two glowing eyes piercing through the darkness. Mauja reached out a paw, moving it behind the small cub. With a quick motion, he scooted him closer, resting his tired head upon the boy's small frame.
"Why have I been cursed with squeaks in my dreams?" he mumbled to himself, half awake. He was glad for his cubs, he was, but it took some getting used to, especially for a guy like him.
Moving his head so his nose was burried in the cubs fur, Mauja inhaled deeply. From the scent, he could tell which cub it was, though he didn't really care. "What is it, my little fuzzball?" he lapped his tongue over the cub's small skull, trying to seem 'fatherly.'

Kitisho felt the paw come around and drag him to his Fathers face where he felt the great chin rest upon him a moment before heaving in a great breath. "Daaad!" He said and groaned slightly pulling away a little, he wanted to get out and see more of the world, witness what Mauja did day after day. His Father was an inspiration. Kiti shakes his head again trying to break free as his Father begins cleaning his head. "Stop it, cmoooon!" Aha! He breaks free and hops about where Mauja's head was. When ignored due to his Father's sleeping habits Kitisho promptly hops onto his Father's back and begins chewing and tugging on his ear with the following statement. "Cmooon, play with me!" And the cub tumbles down with the unbalanced nature of his playing. Basically, he didn't balance himself before letting go of his Dad's ear and trying to talk.

"You strange child." he smirked in the darkness; yep, this kid was definitely his. He was glad to see a cub with so much energy, but still.....why this early?
Delicately rising to his paws, Mauja lifted the small cub in his jaws, gently tossing him in the air, catching him as he came back down. "Now what the heck do you want to do this early?" he mumbled around the ball of fluff in his mouth.
Glancing around, he rememberd that he couldn't wander too far, or some of the others might worry. So he didn't walk much farther with Kitisho, still dangling from his jaws.

Kitisho watched his Father get up, he was mighty proud to be related to the cheetah standing before him. Moments after the cheetah stood up Kitisho was lifted and then tossed. "HEHEHE! Wheee, Dad again! Please again! I just wanna plaaay." He whined a bit. His tail catching his eye dangling a bit behind him. "Mrggl.." He catches the easy prey and begins chewing lightly on the tufty end of it.

"You are so strange." Mauja rolled his eyes and smirked, almost happy for his son's personality.
Lifting his tail in the air, Mauja let the small cub dangle from the end of it a bit, then plopped him down on Mauja's own back. "I'll bet, someone as strange as you knows how to fly." he widened his eyes dramatically, looking to the side. "Can you teach me, oh wise one?" he smirked, swiveling his eyes back to look at Kitisho, obviously enjoying himself.

Kitisho's ears raised and his eye's widened themselves. His heart beat a bajillion miles a minute and he instantly felt light on his paws, he leaped from his Father's back and towards the nearest available 'flight path'. "Of course I can!" He nearly shouted. But, he knew better than to wake his siblings. they'd take away from his Daddy time.
"Cmooon Dad! I'll show you!" his tail was 'wagging' back and forth now, all sleepyness washed away with the adrenaline of the future acts to be. He'd show his Dad exactly how wise he was! He'd show him!

"Well then, my dearest, show me your stuff." he moved back a bit, expecting to see a show. He was, after all, his cub. He should be able to sprout wings, too, but Mauja was willing to wait a few years before he expected that.
"C'mon, c'mon, my magic little son." he lowered himself, crossing his front paws expectantly.

Well, Kitisho definitely wanted to be sky high for his Dad so he grabbed the sight of a large tree. Well large to him.. it wasn't by far anything to overly large. But, bigger than Kitisho should go near. He went there anyway, it's large branches looming over him as he settled his claws into the cool bark and began his ascent.
"See Daddy! Lookit how big my claws are getting!" Kitisho gave a savage grumble as he tore his way to the trees mid section. Getting to a rather chunky branch that extended a good distance Kitisho shuddered a bit. He gazed to the ground. The height, it always got him. He always convinced himself it was a magical feeling but, knew it was something else. A fear.
"Watch Daddy! Watch me fly!" His first attempt from this particular tree and all but, this part went well. Got to the bottom, gulped, got to the mid section, gulped, and got to the branch, gulped. Here's where the gulping would get him. The extra air was just enough to mix poisonously with fear and create a potent knock-out gas.
What a show this had become. Kitisho stuttered in his step a moment and then his body let go. He was no longer in control and was soon falling.

My Gods, he really wants to kill himself.
Mauja lifted himself from the ground quickly, anxious about his son climbing such a large tree. His pace quickened over to the tree as Kitisho climbed out onto the branch. Mauja knew that this sport wasn't one for small cubs. Not his cubs. They were too precious to him, so they couldn't put themselves in danger. Even though Mauja probably wasn't the best role model, he saw no use in his cubs mimicking his behavior.
Even though it was pretty awesome.
"Kitisho!" Mauja watched as his small son jumped from the branch. He had to admit, it was a pretty proud moment, but still. He could get hurt. And Nafsi wouldn't let him hear the end of it. And......well, as a father, he would be horrified. And that'd be wierd. Really wierd.

It was weird enough to be falling from the branch with no motor skills left to control his paws but, he had to watch it. There was no passing out, no darkness to blind him and no closing of his eye's. His stomach turned as the fall descended and the further he went the more putrid he felt. He thought his was going to throw up mid-air! He'd die of embarrassment if he did and thus forced it down and whined with the yucky feelings still there. When would the torture end. He'd seen his Dad get up to come help him but, he was half not wanting the aid.

Reaching a paw out, Mauja slid it under Kitisho as he went down faster. The speed made him weigh more, and Mauja toppled over forward, his paw still under his small son.
"You strange kid." Mauja was now sprawled out on the ground, his chin ground into the dirt when he fell. He slid his paw over in front of his face, eyeing the small cub. "But boy, am I proud." he grinned, stretching out his jaw and making sure he wasn't bleeding from his tumble. He looked over his son, too, but he didn't look too hurt. Just scared. Mentally scared.

Kitisho was horrified with his Father caught, he was on the verge of tears and not wanting to be seen right that very moment. He wanted to ball up and wallow in his failure to complete a task his Father had shown in such a simple way. A failure. His heart beat quickened as he repeated it and he nearly did start crying until his Father spoke up.
The voice rattled him from his thoughts of scurrying away and crying, it nearly scared him out of wits. He was still in a traumatized state from the fall and about ready to check his limbs. "Proud.." He whispered to himself, his heart began beating quicker then before. Excitement! His Father was proud! "Proud!" He exclaimed so that the woods could hear. He got up from their pile and attempted a step only to stumble. He started giggling.
"You really proud of me Dad?" He smiled, looking to his Father for approval. He'd always want approval, for everything!

Gazing down at his son, Mauja saw a lot of his mother in him. He smiled, pawing at the back of Kitisho's tail. "Of course I'm proud of you." He leaned down, nuzzling his small head tenderly. "I could never be anything but proud of you." Turning, he pushed the small cub along gently.
"Now how about we go tell your mother about the amazing stunt you did, hm?" He started out ahead of the cub, wanting to go back to the den himself to cuddle up to his mate until the sun was high in the sky.

Kitisho was excited, tail raised high and swaying, head just about as high as it could be until his Father dashed ahead of him, then his body moved into a quicker state and he sped up to meet his Dad half way on their way to the den. Upon getting there he was all up in the others faces. The adrenaline still pumping furiously through him.
"Mom, Mom!!" He shouted his story with exaggerated actions, displaying his triumphant feat. "Then Dad saved me and now here I am and.. phew! It was AWESOME!" He sat there, tail swaying happily and proudly, chin raised and triumph blaring in his eye's. Mauja's son, to the bone.
