They were old enough now. And Moto did not dare leave one behind in the pride as she traveled. It wasn't that she didn't trust her pride...it was that she wanted her little ones to be together as much as possible. After all...there was a strength in family unity. Moto stopped at the borders of the Matembezi and roared a greeting. She knew which cub would be Mioyo's. And she was certain he would do well. The others...
Well, she would have to struggle with seeing their father and her sister in them always. But she would survive. She had to. The pride could not loose their Mwezi.

A familiar call roused Mioyo from the dens, and the lioness rose, shaking herself out. She was lean these days, but hid this from her pride well, careful not to eat too little. However, hearing Moto's call made her smile, and the lioness called out a return, padding towards the sound at a brisk trot, a smile on her face. Any meeting with Moto was a welcome one.

It was his last day in the Mwako'bi'Giza. He'd been told so by his mother when he had woken up this morning. And while he was sure he'd miss his siblings, somehow he knew this was the best place for him. And so he'd followed after his mother's heals as they left the lands, sticking close to the familiar warmth and calling out every time his siblings fell behind. When Moto called out, he squeaked and quickly scrambled under her feet, his ears pressed against his head.

Taswira followed her mother and dark brother closely, two-colored eyes to the ground. She was scared. Scared that things would fall apart, that her mother would look even sadder. But she knew she had to let Usiku go. Because he was needed elsewhere. And Mommy had made a promise. And promises were meant to be kept. The cub squeaked and dashed behind Usiku when her mother roared, and a roar came back. She peeked out from behind him, hoping whatever roared back was nice.

Mazhira trotted a quicken speed trying to make sure she stayed beneath her mother. It was just to hot and the sun beating against her dark coat was not at all fun for her. She frowned at the fact that they had had to travel and wished deeply that her brother was not going away. He was dark like her and now she would be the odd one out, but it couldn't be helped. They were there now and her brother would not be returning home with them.

Feeling his paws become heavy, Risa followed his mother, watching her tail sway before him. His stomach sank, fearful of the new lions that he saw around him. This new place, he hoped it was filled with only good lions.
He watched his siblings, sharing the same fears they visibly held. He himself was scared that he would be the only boy left to fight away the bad things in their lives.
But he followed, nonetheless, swallowing his fear to try and be strong for the rest of them.

Moto smiled back at her cubs, trying hard to not let her own insecurities show in that expression. And then she turned to the approaching Mioyo. "Mioyo! It is good to see you again! And...I've got new little ones with me." She moved a little, so her ally could see all of the cubs. "Mioyo is the leader of our allied pride, Matembezi'wasakaji. You needn't fear her, dear ones."

Mioyo smiled at the cubs warmly, a tired, sad but kind smile as she bowed to each in turn politely.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, small ones." The Commander said, softly. She smiled to Moto.
"And it is good to see you, as well, Moto."

Usiku's ears flicked forward as soon as the new lioness approached. He was somewhat wary - it was obvious in his stance that he wasn't certain if she could be trusted or not... But as soon as his mother reassured him, his posture relaxed and he took a hesitant step forward. After a moment, he bowed towards Mioyo as well.
"I'm Usiku'nuru. Momma says I'm going to be living with you now," he said lightly, his tail flicking as he smiled at the lioness before him.

Tas shrank back a little as Usiku stepped forward...but she tried to join him, shaking as she did. Mommy said not to fear the other...but Tas couldn't help it. Those outside the demon-hunters...she was never sure of who to trust. "H-hello, Miss Mioyo. I'm Taswira."

Mazhira looked up at the lioness who bowed to her, but unlike her siblings, she did not speak. She nodded giving the lioness acknowledgement of her presence but staying beneath her mother and out of the sun. She did not wish to be friendly with the lady who was taking her brother.
Hira lay in the dirt feeling hot and frowning up at Mioyo.

Watching the lioness move from each of his siblings, Risa tried to mumble out a greeting. "He....llompgh..." his eyes dropped, and he tried his best to remained huddled around his mother's leg. He was rather sad that his brother would be leaving, but he felt that this place, this lioness, was all right. It would never be as good as home, but it was good enough to Risa.

The golden lioness smiled. "I hope things have been well for you, Mioyo...you look a little tired." Hopefully, it was just the exhaustion that came with being a leader. No good leader avoided that, especially not two such as they. When Usiku stepped forward, Moto nodded.
"I've brought Usiku to be fostered here, if you will have him, Mioyo." Moto bent her neck a bit to give encouraging smiles to her two little ones...and a proud one to Hira. Poor cub's coat wasn't meant for so much sun. She was taking it well for one her age.

Mioyo smiled to Moto.
Letting a child go into the world so young was hard-- letting one go to allies, unseen often, was harder.
"Of course;" Mioyo said softly. "All are welcome, both to live..."
She gave the other cubs and Moto a inviting gesture. "And to see their loved ones."
No, the young cub was never to be cut off from family. Rather, she welcomed them to socialize and visit.
