(The following roleplay is a self rp between Xx'ami-da, Maziwa'Kono, and Leini. All characters in the following posts belong to Seaki.)
Leini
A thinning dog lay stretched upon the warm earth. Her lingering pregnancy fat finally had faded completely and she was content. Six beautiful pups and a wonderful, albiet stubborn, mate. She had a nice life, she thought. A small smile graced her beautiful face as she basked in the heated sun.
She started dozing lightly in the sun. It wasn't an overly hot day, like most other days. Today it had cooled to a tolerable basking heat and the sun was quite high in the sky, signally the middle of the light hours.
Still, I never thought I'd be in a pack... the though flickered across her mind.
Xx'ami-da
The red-maned hyena shook his mane, dusk particals flew from the red mass and settled to the ground. The Mkuu had just awoken from a small nap. He was still used to sleeping in the day and resting at night, but he was trying to switch the pattern to a more 'normal' schedule.
Xx'ami-da starting walking. It was rather surreal. He was the leader of a pack, albiet a mostly dog pack, but a pack nonetheless. "It could do with more Hyenas..." He mentioned to himself. He hoped, eventually, that it would. And maybe, someday, he'd have his own pups join the pack.
The darkly colored hyena made it his duty to walk around the pack area, surveying the land and talking to the other pack members. Today, he came across one of the families - the Rubani of a clan. One of sleep and relaxation. The hyena grinned - the females was desplaying just that at this moment.

Leini
Leini felt eyes on her, as instict of living without a pack for so long. It was mearly habitual. She opened her red eyes and stared into a set so similar in color to her own. She lifted her head and smiled in amusement. "Afternoon, Mkuu," Leini addressed her leader. Sure, she was in a high-ranking position, but the Mkuu was much higher than herself, and the council was just above her.
The female's left ear swiveled to and fro in no partcular manner. Probably following the sounds of the chirruping birds. However, the right ear was trained on the Mkuu. "What brings you this way today?" Leini asked politely.
Xx'ami-da
"Good afternoon, Leini," Xx'ami-da replied back. He was slightly glowing with being called the Mkuu - the chief, the leader. It felt so strange but rewarding in a odd sense. He stepped closer to the female and sat, deciding to stay for some small talk.
"Just out for a stroll, checkng on things. The pack is still small, so I can still talk to every member, perhaps all in one day. I just, in fact, awoke from a nap," He mentioned softly. He was doing well, himself, adjusting to the pack-life. Though the process was almost trying. Chatting with others day after day was helping the most. Traveling was quite lonely, and often isolated from the normal world, robbing social pack animals from a healthy social experience needed to stay happy - just like him.
However, being a male leader was quite strange. In normal Hyena packs, the female was the leader, and the male was just the mate, a consort. Here, it similar, but not completely the same, as Xx'ami was a hyena. He would listen mostly to his female counterpart. It was written into his nature. However, he was not her consort, or would ever be, as Uzuri already had a mate. He would learn though, to become an excellent leader.

Leini
Leini watched the far off look the the Mkuu's eyes, and she smiled. It was often she got lost in memories. They weren't always good ones, but they were still a part of her strange past.
Curiously, though, Leini asked, "What are you thinking about, Mkuu?" She kept a serene, but a polite curiousity. She didn't want to seem too rude and ask too much, or in the wrong way. She was still cautious around the new leader, but she quite liked him. She faintly remembered a small hyena called Xx'ami-da as mentioned by her father, and now he was quite the great leader, she though, based on what she had seen so far.
Xx'ami-da
Xx'ami suddenly snapped out of his musings, distracted by the female's voice. He furrowed his brow, though hidden by his mane. He struggled to remember the question. "Ah!" He exclaimed, then looked slightly sheepish.
"Ahm, just about Hyena packs. It's strange being the leader of a mostly dog pack." He commented. "For Hyenas, males are much lower in rank - we cannot even hold title of Alpha, or in my case, the Mkuu."

She looked faintly amused at the Mkuu's musing. She gave him a small grin, but he spoke again.
Leini tilted her head off to the side in confusion. How strange... "Females are higher in rank?" What a confusing topic. Sure, female dogs could be considered Alpha, but it was usually the male. they were stronger and much bigger. "How does that work?" She questioned the hyena. The concept was foreign to her having never come across a friendly hyena, much less a pack.
Xx'ami-da
He knew it was an odd concept for a dog to understand - A hyena pack. "The females in a hyena pack are much larger and they fight for dominance. Males are one of the lower ranks, and often don't rise above just another member. The females are much better at hunting and have a stronger nose for scavenging."
Dogs usually didn't understand. hyenas were normally harsh creatures, ment for fighting and dominance. He was an odd one, seeing as he grew up near dogs and took up many of their values. He was a rather soft one. Then again, many males were. However, there was always a deeply engraved instinct that females would always be dominate.

Leini gave a nod of understanding - it was still a strange concept to her, but if females were bigger... Leini wouldn't dwell on it for long. She gave a yawn. "How're leading the pack treating you?" She questioned as if she was an old friend.
In truth, he practically was, though they had only met once when they were both young.
Xx'ami-da
He shrugged and grinned. "It's nice. I like it, but the pack isn't too large and it's... made up of your clan, mostly" he said thoughtfully. The pups were mostly hers, save a few. He shook his head. He needed to stop drifting into thought while speaking to someone, especially a lady.
"Sorry, I keep getting distracted by thoughts..." He apologized with a sheepish look. Despite the female being of lower rank, he still respected her. It wasn't like him not to. Besides, Leini looked a lot like Ban. He missed Ban terribly, but he didn't want to admit that.

Leini
The female dog laughed and shook her head. "It's quite alright, Mkuu." She answered with a smile. "It happens to everyone, I should think." She often got lost in her thoughts, thinking instead of her depressing past, grieving over her lost pup that she wasn't sure if her was alive or dead.
Her eyes clouded, and she was suddenly depressed. Guild filled her form and she struggled not to weep.
Maziwa'Kono
The small orange pup yawned widely. She gazed around for her mum for a bit before pulling herself from the ground near her littermates. Bright red eyes made a traveled tiredly across the lands. Spotting the white and tan shape and a darker form, she started forward.
Soon enough, she made it to her mum and nuzzled the older female. "Mumum," she mumbled tiredly and laid down to curl up.
Xx'ami-da
The hyena frowned with when the demeanor of the female dog chaged. Her eyes glazed over and she was shivering a bit. It was not cold out - it never was, so her thoughts are what caused them.
However, a small orange pup, sleepily, he might add, brushed against Leini. He recognized the pup as one of Leini's litter in the Njozi clan. He wondered briefly what the older female's reaction would be.

Leini
Snapped from her thought-filled trance, Leini saw orange. She was rather fong of the color orange. A smile graced her maw when she realized it was her sleepy pup. This little pup was a nice mix of her parents, but she looked quite like Machu. It was absolutely adorable.
She pulled the pup to her belly and returned her gaze to the Mkuu, slightly embarrased. "Sorry, I guess I got lost in thought as well..." She mumbled solemnly.
Maziwa'Kono
Maziwa felt herself being pulled closer to the warm, soft under belly of her mother. She looked up at the large form she saw before and noticed. "Oh, the Mkuu..." She mumbled and pushed herself closer to the warmth, trying to fall back asleep. She was still rather dioriented and so tired. Darn sun, it was exhausting. The night was soo much better.
However, she stayed faintly aware of the Mkuu's presence and listened to the rest of the conversation.
Xx'ami-da
He chuckled lowly in amusement. "I think I'll leave you now. Have a good day, Leini, Maziwa'Kono." He gave a small nod to the Rubani and lifted himself to trot away, off to find another dog to talk to and leave the Njozi clan to sleep, dream, and think.
It was an odd clan, but a nice one.
