Lila was loving life as she and her family traveled through the rogue lands. She was very happy fot the adventure knowing she would be able to explore every day. She just couldnt believe her luck. Her and Tendaji were getting in all kind of trouble, but they like to wander and Lila liked to help her brother in finding new trinkets for his pouch. Lila was certain he would be a crafter. Lila herself original wanted to gather information for the pride, but now she wanted to be a healer like her papa. Today she was taking steps forward to her goal and looking for someone injured she could help.Achal limped along in a very grumpy mood. He'd managed to get a thorn stuck in his paw and it hurt a lot. He'd tried to get it out but his large mouth couldn't grasp the tiny thorn and his fumbled attempts had only drove the thorn in more. Achal was not known for scowling, but the scowl he currently wore could drive of the fiercest troop of lions. He sorely wished he'd been paying attention to where he'd be walking because then he wouldnt be in the situation.
Lila frowned not having much luck with her search on the ground. While she was growing, she was still small and it was hard for her to see everywhere. She huffed giving up her terra search in favor of the trees. Oh how she loved climbing, just as her mother had before her, it was simply impossible to keep her out of the tree to long. She knew she would never stop climbing. She grinned as she made her way and and gave a satisfied sigh when she made it into the thick branched of the large tree. She knew it would be far easier to see from up there.
Achal hobbled along unknowling headed for the tree where Lila was currently perched. He groaned loudly as he made his way through the grasses, happy to see a large shady tree up ahead. He sighed in relief and made his way toward the tree for a much needed break.
Lila turned at the loud groan and looked down to see a large male heading towards her tree. At first she thought that is wasn't a good thing, but then she noticed he was limping. Lila grinned widely, happy she may have found her first pratice patient. It was a paw injury too.“Hello down there,” she called, “you don't look to well. Are you okay?”
Achal was a bit startled by the voice from above and he looked up fully expecting to see a bird and was shocked to see a small lioness up in the tree. Achal did not know how to react at first but then he simply answered the little one's question.
“Hello,” he called, “unfortunately I am not fine. I've got a thorn stuck in my paw. I've tried to get it out, but my teeth are to large and it went in further. I resting for now.”
Lila smiled, “My papa's a healer and I'm training to be one. I bet I could get it out for you. Hold on, I'm coming down.” Lila scrambled down before Achal even had a chance to respond. “I'm Lilavati of Simbafutaji, at your service.”
Achal looked at the young lioness, still a juvenile, but she seemed on the verge of becoming a adolescent soon. He had never seen a lion climb a tree, but in the his travels he found the small territory he'd live in his whole life, did not lend much to travelers so he hadn't many.
Achal returned Lilavati's smile, “I am Achal and it very nice to meet you. I guess I am lucky to run into an apprentice healer.”
Achal held out his paw turning it so that Lila could see the red and swollen flesh that had a thorn embedded in it. “Do you think you can get it out?”
Lila nodded, “Yes, I can get it out, but its swollen so it will hurt a little. Also it needs to be cleaned but I'm not sure I can do it properly. After I get it, I can take you to my papa and see what he says. He is very kind and gentle and I know he'll have you right as rain.”
Achal nodded, “It hurts plently now, so I'll just be relieved to get it out. And if it means no infection afterwards I'll happily let your dad have a look at it.”
Lila nodded and set about trying to gently removed the thorn. She pressed down on his paw, trying to expose more of the throne and focused on removing the thorn with her small teeth. It took a few minutes of maneuvering but Lila was able to pull it free.
“There you go all done. Feel better now,” she said smiling.
Achal groaned slightly, “Not entirely but I am sure it will in a minute. Thank you very much for a help Miss Lilavati. Just give me a second to allow the throbbing to stop and then you can lead the way to your dad.”
“You can call me Lila, everyone else does and you welcome.” Lila sat beside Achal and waited for him to give the signal that he was okay before she headed off to her papa with Achal following in her wake.
