It was late almost nighttime when Nasrin wandered away from the group of five lions she was traveling with. They were such a strange group, her 'family'. All of them so different, it was a miracle they had managed to stay together for so long. Yet they somehow managed to get along just fine. Most of the time, anyway.
She tried to be a sneaky as possible. The rest were getting ready to sleep but for some reason the red lioness didn't feel tired at all. She decided to take a stroll instead. It was a warm and very pleasant night, why not? The moon was almost full and there were many stars out. Nasrin thanked the spirits for the beautiful sight. It was one of the simple treasures in life she cherished most.
The red lioness sat down, eyes staring right up at the sky above. For a while she forgot about the world around her.

Achal lay in the grass admiring the moonlight. He'd been enjoying his traveling very much and he hoped his sister and daughter were doing the same. It was very nice to be able to be alone and enjoy his freedom, but as always when it was late at night and he was trying to fall asleep his missed his younger sisters and how they use to cuddle up to him to sleep.
Achal always felt lonely at night and wished for once he could have some company. He'd found lots of company in the daylight hours and even once someone to travel with, but they had gone their separate ways. He yawned and once again looked at the moon, before rising. Tonight he would have company. There had to be someone awake he could talk to.

Nasrin sighed and a soft smile spread on her lips. She felt such peace fill her at that moment. It was a rare that she felt so contented with herself. Was there really any way to make this night even better?
Nasrin's ear twitched as a rustle reached her. She looked around, feeling a bit stupid. Could it be that someone was here and she hadn't noticed a thing. Rising slowly she silently took cover behind a nearby bush. Her eyes widened a fraction as she saw a dark figure rise from the grass in the near distance. As the figure approached she saw it was in fact a male lion. She couldn't make out his markings well but it certainly wasn't any of the three males in her group. He didn't look hostile and she thought that he might have been stargazing too. And even if he tried anything she was sure her friends would hear if she called them.
With those thoughts in mind Nasrin came out from her hiding place. She smiled and greeted the stranger. "Hello there. Were you stargazing as well?"

Achal was slightly startled to see a female walk out of the cover, but her greeting was friendly and he calmed. He did not think he was close to a den and was grateful she seemed to be doing the same thing he was.
"Yes," he answered, "my night has been rather sleepless and so I was star gazing. However I was feeling rather lonely so I thought I might wander a bit."
Achal stopped and set in front of the female smiling, very happy to have found someone he might be able to talk to, "I am Achal, who might you be and what brings you to star gaze on this lovely evening."

Nasrin smiled. He was just wandering, no danger there. It seemed he just wanted some company. "Well," she said smiling "I could use some company myself." She came closer and sat down. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Achal. My name is Nasrin." She introduced herself with a smile and slightly bowed her head. "I just..couldn't sleep." She looked up at the stars again. "My friends, the group I'm travelling with, are all asleep by now and I didn't want to bother them so I thought I'd go for a stroll." She explained. "I ended up sitting here admiring the moon and stars."

Achal smiled at the female happy he'd found company so quickly. He sat down as well after she'd sat and looked to her. "It is very nice to meet you as well Nasrin and I must say you have a very lovely name."
Achal looked up to the sky at the moon shining above them, "Nights are like that sometimes. You know you should sleep, but you simply can't so you wander and you find yourself just gazing at the night sky. When I was younger my mother would say that the moon and the stars were calling you and would tell my sister the same thing when they were young."
Achal looked to the red female beside him, "What do you think are they calling us tonight? You know relatives past up their wanting to share a word with up but settling for a quiet moment."

Nasrin blushed at the compliment and thanked the spirits it was nighttime. "Thank you."
She also lifted her gaze up at the stars. "That is a nice tought. Your mother is a wise lioness." She commented with a soft smile as she remembered something. "My parents believed that the stars are the eyes of those passed away watching over us. Sometimes they would even talk to them." She chuckled. "I do too, sometimes. I don't know if they listen but it is comforting." She hadn't done that in a long time tough. Now she had her friends to share her roubles with.
"I don't know." She said looking at him thoughtfully. "Maybe they saw us wandering around unable to sleep and decided we needed company." She chuckled.

Achal nodded at Nasrin, "Your welcome."
His gaze turned back to the female beside him as she gazed at the star speaking to him. He smiled happy know someone thought his mother as wise as he'd thought her and hearing Nasrin's parents were much the same as his mother made him smile more. "I am glad you thin her wise and it seems your parents are just as wise as she. Though I have never tried to talk to them, maybe now I will. I know they will always listen, they are wonderful at it."
Achal settled down a bit more, lying down in the cool grass and returning his gaze to the stars. "Is that so," he asked responding to Nasrin. "Well then," he said looking at the stars, "Thank you stars, thank you for sending we a friendly bit of company tonight. It was very kind of you."
He turned to Nasrin and smiled wondering if she would thank the stars as well.

Nasrin also looked up once again, a smile still on her face. "Yes, my parents knew a lot about the spirits. But unfortunately they weren't as wise when it came to raising their children." Her smile faded and she sighed as she remembered her mother and brothers...her father. She missed them alittle, but she had never regretted her decision to run away. "They weren't bad...but my father was too much of a control freak." She shook her head as if trying to chase away a bad memory. "I'm sorry about that. I don't want to bore you with my sappy story." It was all in the past anyway.
Nasrin laughed and laid down as well. "Yes," she looked up "it was very nice. Thank you." She then turned to Achal. "And thank you for staying with me. After all, I'm just a stranger to you."

Achal frowned slightly a Nasrin's statement, it was sad to hear. "My mother was always warm and lovely, very full of wisdom, though I fear she forgot to put a sense on duty into my twin. She ran off after my mother died leaving me alone with her new litter." Achal sighed and shook his head, "Its okay everyone needs someone to unload on every so often. I do not mind."
Achal at Nasrins thanks and leaned over touching his nose to head, between her ears, gently. "It was no problem and we are no longer strangers. The stars brought together to enjoy each other company and we have each others names, so how can we be stranger."

Nasrin's ears dropped a fraction. "I'm sorry to hear that. But you raised your too sisters on your own? That is very admirable." She complimented him. Nasrin couldn't imagine herself raising cubs on her own especially since she still felt like a cub herself. "I used to be a bretty spoiled brat, too. I was the only girl in the litter." She said, slightly ashamed. "When I met my Hitaahita and Tekenya they 'cured' me of my spoild-ness, as they put it." She chuckled. Those two had done so much for her.
Shge purred as touched her head. That was an interesting way to look at it. "I suppose you are right." She smiled softly ad touched her nose to his. It was her special way of showing affection, usually reserved for her closest friends. "I'm really glad the stars brought us together, Achal."

Achal smiled, "Yes, them and my daughter, an orphan cub I found one day. Thank you. It was quite an endeavor, but the are alive, strong and very well. Although I fear just as you have been spoiled, I have spoiled them, but they are all polite and rather kind."
Achal blushed as Nasrin nose to his, he lean forward and nuzzled her cheek before move back and shaking out his mane slightly. "I am glad too,"he said before sighing contently a purr rising in his throat.
He leaned against Nasrin, looking up at the star and purring. It was nice to be able to enjoy the night with such wonderful company. He yawned lightly, although he was not really tired.

"I am sure ou did a wonderful job raising them." Nasrin said with certainty. "There isn't anything bad in spoiling cubs at least a little." She thought he must really like having cubs around, with the way he spoke about his sisters and daughter.
Nasrin nuzzled him back and purred again. When he leaned against her she stiffened for a moment but almost immediately relaxed and snuggled into him. A conted smile was on her lips. This was one very interesting and wonderful night. She looked up at the stars, silently thanking them once more for the company of the male beside her.
