Shadow Demons are the masters of illusion and teleportation. They use shadows (or to be technical; light) as the basis of their power. Their abilities are the most unique and mysterious amongst all the races which is why they have earned the names of 'dark fairies' and 'nymphs'.
In teleporting themselves, the same idea is involved. Shadow demons can teleport in only very short distances, about the same distances as teleporting something into their hand. They absolutely must know where they are teleporting to; and what the area looks like. So in other words they have to of been in that area before if they are going to teleport there. They can only teleport into a shadow; which is where the term 'shadow jumping' comes from. (Once again night or a cloudy day would make this easier).
Illusions is another one of the strange abilities Shadow Demons have; and they use it for just about everything. From changing their appearances to making a monster appear out of thin air; they can pretty much do it. Depending on their power however, not everyone can be fooled by their spell. Especially beings such as any of the ancients and about half of the elven population. The older a shadow demon is, the more they can influence a mind with their illusionary skills, and the more people they can fool. An elder for an example, can fool just about anyone with effort.
They can create these illusions by simply bending light. They can make rocks look like gold coins, and if they're skilled enough; even make them feel like gold coins. They can create shadows (a fake clone) of themselves; which is useful in a situation where they are forced to fight (they can play possum for an example by making it look like they had died.) They cannot however; make illusions physical. For an example; A shadow demon cannot make an illusion of a knife and actually hurt someone with it. They can most certainly scare them, (and possibly even make them believe they were hit by creating the illusion of blood) but cannot physically hurt them. Their abilities with illusions goes on; and the more creative one of these little demons are; the more unique their abilities become.
