"...Huh. Looks like a nice day today."
Moving along the familliar path of the squad eight training grounds, Tansen had to shield his eyes from the sun as he walked. He has was there today to teach a member from squad ten some kido. Being the previous vice captain of the squad a few years ago, Tansen had been more than eager to help out in the teaching of one of their members. It made him happy to know that his old squad was doing well.
"It's actually been quite awhile since I've been there... Perhaps I should stop by sometime and say hello to Evil-Sensei... For now though, I should just concentrate on the task at hand."
Getting his head out of the clouds, the young captain let out a small yawn and began stretching as he arrived at his destination: A small clearing within the within the squad training fields. Because of the free space and solid footing to work with, Tansen found it to be an excellent spot for training and teaching, so long as his students didn't get lost on the way..

Setzer followed the scent of Tansen, being a bunch better way of tracking someone, as opposed to being given directions. The sun was rather bright today, and it began to distract him. He raised his tails, thus providing adequate shade and something to block the rays of the sun from irritating his sight. His legs carried him to his destination, and in the distance, he could clearly see Tansen. His eyes began to grow accustomed to the light, and lowered the tails.
"My apologies if I'm a bit tardy." Setzer spoke gently to the captain as he neared. "Thanks for taking the time to teach me this. Should prove quite valuable." He stopped, about six feet from the captain, providing, what he thought to be ample space between the two. His back began to bend backwards, and a slight cracking could be heard. Other movements began to happened, and yet still, more noises of bones being cracked.
"Awful sunny isn't it?" The words escaped him rather eloquently, making mild small talk, waiting for the training to begin. His eyes darted around, taking in the scenery. "Rather pleasant." The thought came to him, but decided not to utter it. Surely thinking his gaze showed his thoughts. The gray eyes returned to the captain.

"No thanks necessary, I'm glad to be of assistance. Instructing others is part of my duties as a captain. As for the sun, I don't think that it should pose a problem. Hopefully it'll be blocked out by clouds."
The sun truly was a bit distracting for the young captain. The rays of sunlight illuminated the young captain's snow white hair to the point where he looked like he had a light bulb on his head. The heat wasn't helping either. Trying to get his mind away from the negative thoughts in his head, Tansen cleared his throat and immediately got to work.
"All right. So, the first thing that I'm going to teach is a Hado spell. As the name suggests, it's a destructive spell that is solely based on inflicting damage to your opponent. While it may not be overly difficult to learn, it is quite troublesome to control properly. If you're not careful, you could end up hurting yourself as well as those around you. Here's an example."
Turning his back to Setzer and shifting his body into a kido stance, Tansen's eyes slowly changed color from their usual emerald green to a dazzling shade of light blue as the young prodigy recited the incantation for the kido, a small orb of azure fire forming in his hands as he spoke.
"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado number thirty three, Sokatsui."
Releasing the sphere of blue reiatsu from his hands, the young captain watched closely as the blast of energy connected with the ground and exploded into a flash of fire and reiatsu, reducing everything around it to ashes.
"The trick to casting any kido is to alow your body to relax while keeping your mind focused on th task at hand. Give it a try and let's see what you can do. Just tell me if you need me to repeat the incantation."

"Very well then. However, I must still offer gratitude." Setzer's eyes looked upward, reflecting on the gray color within.
His ears perked, and his mind became clear, taking in everything that Captain Tansen was speaking. He soon became thankful for his ears and memory. After having memorized the incantation, and having watched the display, his eyes turned to the damage it caused. Small bits of burned ash were scattered about. He was then aware of the power a Captain held, even one as young as Captain Tansen.
"Thanks for the tip, and let's see what will happen." His legs stood apart, as he held forth a pale hand. His lips began to move slowly as the words slipped from his mouth. His mind grew quiet and his body relaxed.
"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado number thirty three, Sokatsui."
A small orb, matching the azure of the Captain's beside him. He did try to keep it small on purpose however, as the aim was learning it, and not blowing himself up. His tails fell to the ground as a type of support should the Hado backfire, and indeed it did.
In a quick burst of light, the orb slowly erupted it's amount of energy. Setzer fell back some, using the tails as if they were legs, and dug down, only pushing him back a few feet.
"Hmm... This is quite different from my foxfire, or, maybe it's the same... and I'm just accustomed to it..." His mind came to this thought. "Maybe I should pretend it is my foxfire...." He voiced his thought aloud. "What do you think Captain Tansen?"

Tansen's response to Setzer's question about the comparison of techniques was to fold his arms in front of him and give the kitsune a cold look that basically said "Do I LOOK like I would know? Do you see a fluffy tail anywhere?" Although he was the head of the central intelligence divison, Tansen's range of knowlege didnt quite reach to the race of mysterious foxes.
"I've had numerous kitsune such as yourself in my squad before, but I'm afraid that I don't have much experience in your particular branch of techniques. If you find that the two are similar, then I would try not thinking of it as much. Perhaps try using a little of the fox fire along with the actual technique in order to get the feel of it. It's really up to you, sorry."
Closing his eyes for a moment, the young captain decided that the next time he had a bit of free time on his hands, that he might look a bit more into the powers and traditions of the kitsune. After all, it was the young shinigami's job to be experienced in all branches of knowlege. Of course, he'd have to finish the task at hand first before he could do so.
"You're not going to get any better at it by standing here thinking. Give it another shot and see how it goes. Remember to remain relaxed and focused."

Setzer pondered the thought. To his knowledge, the hado he was using did seem to be, at least to some part, fire related. Just that it was blue, instead of red. "Alright, I'll try that out. That actually sounds like quite an interesting improvement."
Setzer once again took his position, his legs spread, but this time, one before him, and one backwards. His tails took a similar position as earlier, all on the ground. His hands before them began to spark an orb of foxfire, blue and white in color. His mind grew quiet, and his eyes closed, relaxing himself before he opened them once again. His lips began to move once again, uttering the words of the incantation.
"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado number thirty three, Sokatsui."
The Foxfire before him began to become a much darker blue, but remained the same size, as the reiatsu of the hado merely took refuge within it. He released the blast forward, the azure fire seemed to mix rather well with it. However, he made it much to large than a force he was used to, so he slid backward yet again a few feet, but he didn't fly backwards like before.
"It appears... that will take some getting used to... mixing the two of them together like that. My Foxfire has never had a recoil, so I'm not exactly used to that." "Hmm... that will take some getting used to I'm sure..."

Observing Setzer closely as the kitsune warrior attempted the kido for a second time, Tansen noted the shinigami's difficulty in controlling the powerful spell that he had completed. Even using his tails to steady himself, the recoil was too much for Setzer to handle, making the technique useless. Unless...
"...I think I may have a solution to your problem. It won't be easy, but I can teach you a technique to stabilize yourself while casting the hado. It's a bit advanced for your level, so bear with me."
Unsheathing his zanpakutou, Tansen calmly waved his hand over the blade of his weapon, causing the blade of the sword to glow an enchanting shade of emerald green as he released it's true form.
"...Transmute, Tsumari-Renkin." (Ultimate Alchemy)
At the sound of the command, the blade in Tansen's hands grew slightly in length as it was covered in mysterious black symbols, which began glowing the same shade of emerald green from before as it's master unleashed it's powers, causing the ground under their feet to rumble slightly as the alchemic reaction took place. After a dazzling flash of light, a giant golem composed from the earth's minerals stood before them.
"Pay close attention, Setzer...Watch my feet closely."
Letting out an intimidating war cry, the golem that Tansen transmuted raised it's fist threateningly, before throwing a powerful and well aimed punch at it's creator, who did nothing to stop it. Instead, the young shinigami raised his blade in front of him to block the blow, while simaltainiously applying reiatsu to the bottoms of his feet.
The resulting blow from the clash of steel and earth caused the ground below Tansen to collapse on itself from the force of the impact. However, despite the incredible power behind his golem's attack, Tansen himself had not budged an inch from where he stood. The reiatsu that the younger shinigami had applied to his soles had completely prevented him from losing his footing against the attack. Sheathing his blade, Tansen watched as his golem slowly crumbled to dust before his eyes, returning to the earth from where it had come. Turning to Setzer, Tansen let out a small sigh as he wiped a small trail of sweat from his brow before speaking.
"Did you see what I did? I prevented myself from losing my footing by applying reiatsu to the bottoms of my feet, solidifying the reishi underneath them to hold me in place. That's what I want you to try. If you can do it properly, then you won't have to worry about the recoil from your kido. Go ahead and try it, it's almost like using a minor kido."

Setzer's ears perked when he heard the word "solution." His feet carried him a short distance away, not quite sure what he would be expecting. His eyes watched as the Captain drew forth his Zanpakutou. Awe could be seen in those pale grey eyes as the kitsune watched the blade turn a hue of green, clearly showing his envy of the power it displayed.
His feet felt a trembling in the ground as it shook, and watched as the blade began to flicker with various alchemical symbols, some of which he known, as many others were as vague to him as the event that took place next.
"A... golem..." Setzer's eyes widened at the site of the mammoth earthen creature, never had he seen one conjured in such a manner. Next thing he could hear was the voice of the Captain uttering to Setzer to watch his feet. His mind came back to the meditative state it had once held.
He could feel the reiatsu pulse from Captain Tansen's into his feet. He realized the point Tansen was trying to get across. But he listened to the words spoken by him as he watched the creature return to his place in the earth from whence it had originally spawned.
"That's quite impressive, the golem thing. Anyhow, I do understand. That's quite interesting, and I shall give it a go."
Setzer nodded to the captain, and took his stance. The only change he made however, was to place the right arm into the grasp of his left, which should allow greater stability of the hado itself, and not to mention aim. His first thought was to start the foxfire, which began to glow it's azure white color. Next, some reiatsu was placed into his feet for stability. And slowly, sure enough, the Foxfire could be seen to grow a different color of azure as the words began to be uttered through Setzer's lips.
"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado number thirty three, Sokatsui."
The azure flame then launched forward, just as before, it was obvious now he had no issue in firing it. However, despite his efforts, he did slide back some, perhaps an inch or two, but no more.
"Hmm... still needs some effort I see... But it's far better than being launched several feet. I shall try again.
Again, he took the position he had assumed before. But this time, he started with the reiatsu in his feet, and continued to do so as he continued the technique.
"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado number thirty three, Sokatsui."
This time, however, he created the spark of the Hado, and his foxfire simultaneously, creating the azure white orb, then watched slowly as he released it. And surely, this time, he had got it. He hadn't moved this time, and if he did, it surely wasn't enough to notice the backwards movement.

"Thank you captain," Setzer spoke softly, taking his original standing position once again. His ears listening to the words spoken by the Captain. He watched closely, eager to see the Bakudo.
His eyes caught the glimpse of the reiatsu, and watched as the form slowly began to think of something similar. He listened tot he captain as the anchor (incantation) was spoken, and continued as he continued to speak.
"I see... so, the shield in this case acts as a construct, created by the manipulated reiatsu. This sounds slightly familiar." He pulled out his mask and looked at it. "This here, was made in a similar manner, but on Earth, well.. While I took on this form however. The earthlings call it Psi, not Reiatsu however. I suppose the difference doesn't matter however, whether these two are the same, or not."
He placed the mask back and slowly began to take his position again. His reiatsu formed in his hand into an orb of light azure. Slowly he began working it into a solid flat circular shape. He let his hand away, and rest it to his side.
"It lacks your unique peculiarities, but, what do you think?" He spoke, looking in the direction of the captain.

Looking the kido shield over top to bottom, Tansen shook his head sadly before replying. While the shield's shape had been properly formed, Setzer had failed to form his kido in the right style. Instead of being two pieces, one solid and one rotating, he had formed it as a single, solid object. It was unacceptable in it's current form.
"...I'm afraid that you'll have to try again. That shield isn't strong enough to protect you I'm afraid. Here, look at my shield and you'll see what yours is missing."
Bringing the shield up in front of him, the young captain motioned to the center of his kido, which was composed of swirling reiatsu. The speed that it was going at made the shield give off a low hum as the reishi composing it vibrated with power.
"This type of shield is split into two parts. The edge which holds the kido together and the center which gives it strength. By having the reiatsu in the center rotating, the shield absorbs and deflects more damage from whatever attack it blocks. By forming your shield in one solid piece, you're taking away it's greatist strength. Try again."

Setzer placed a hand to his head. "I can't believe I left that out... I suppose however, better here than in the field."
He took his stance once again, this time, creating a slightly larger orb of Reiatsu. With this, he formed it into the solid disk. The rest took it's place inside the disk, where it had slowly begun to spin.
"Bakudo number thirty nine, Enkosen..." With this, it slowly began to took on it's hum, though kind of faint.
"Well, is this any better?" He asked, looking over towards the captain.

Observing Setzer closely as the kitsune made his second attempt at Enkosen, Tansen nodded approvingly as he formed his shield properly this time around, the familliar hum of vibrating reishi being the proof that he did it correctly. Looking at the finished product, the young captain had to admit that the kido shield looked pretty sturdy and powerful, if somewhat plain.
"Alright then, it looks like you formed it properly this time. Now we'll put it to the test and see if it can block a proper attack. Prepare yourself."
Shunpoing back a few feet, Tansen's eyes began changing color again as the young captain extended his left hand forward and manipulated his reiatsu for a kido spell. Sparks of electricity began to randomly fly from his middle and index fingers as he pointed them at Setzer, the dazzling blue eyes completely locked onto their target as he spoke.
"...Hado number four, Byakurai."
A thick, concentrated beam of electricity and reiatsu erupted from Tansen's outstretched fingers and shot across the training field at incredible speed, crashing into Setzer's kido and causing a small explosion of dust and reiatsu upon impact. Even though the hado spell was of low level and considered to be weak, it was one of Tansen's most frequently used spells, and had an impressive amount of power behind it. If Setzer's shield could successfully block the attack, he would be ready to use the shielding kido in combat.

Setzer closed his eyes at the moment the impact happened. The light was fast, and he wasn't expecting it from the Captain's attack. His arm was raised, not expecting the large burst of light. When he heard everything clear, he looked up, and noticed the shield still remained.
"I suppose that worked."
He stood in his normal stance once again. But, a moment later, as he walked toward the shield, is slowly began to crack, and then fell to the ground, dissipating. "Or not," he thought to himself.
"Perhaps I had spoken too soon. That hado of yours is a light brighter coming at you, rather than away."

The smoke slowly cleared up and Setzer's shield looked perfectly solid...until it shattered into pieces and faded into nothingness. Still, the kido had done it's job of protecting it's caster from the attack. If it could defend the shinigami from one of Tansen's kido, then with some practise it could protect Setzer from most of the attacks that he would face in the future.
"Regardless of the fact that your shield shattered, it did it's job. most shields don't survive more than one attack anyways, and that's from a regular opponent. Congratulations, Setzer. That one more kido to add to your arsenal. Good job. I'm afraid that I have to go now, but please be sure to say hello to captain Evil for me."
With that being said, the young captain gave a curt nod to the kitsune warrior to acknowlege his success before shunpoing out of the area. While training people in the arts of kido was important, the young captain still had work to back at his office. If only the young prodigy could create a kido to do all of the paperwork for him...
((Exits. Good job, Setzer.))
