Kieran sat in the dark room waiting for Percy. After hearing all that had happened that night he planned to tell her the truth. They had several matters to discuss, and not all of them would be pleasant. His head spun and the world around him shifted to the point he had to lay down or risk losing consciousness. In his mind Percy swam in and out. Her beauty, intelligence, and hobbies all matching his own in perfect comparison… how immediately upon meeting they loved each other instantaneously. Only now did he question if he had been too hasty. Nothing had happened the night he “celebrated” no this was not truly about that, but about where their futures laid. Dracal and Nyx and become close, but hidden to Kieran. No one had bothered to mention it, no one had bothered to ask his opinion, for it seemed all that mattered were his wives. Dracal no longer listened to him, but in fact often challenged his authority, and in Kieran’s mind, something had to be done. It was no longer simple to him, no longer, I love you love me, that’s all we need. Now he had a boy who wanted everything he held dear. In a way it was mean for him to bring Percy into his insecurities, but he needed her to know if there was any hope for them at all.

Aidan sat outside the room his brother laid in. He didn’t know what to say, even if the other would hear him out. Sighing he waited for Percy, to tell her first and foremost whatever Kieran said, whatever may happen, and as much as Kieran may deny it, it was in fact Aidan’s fault. He felt horrible for this whole ordeal, but other than the introductory statement he could not get into this business, for he also knew it was more than just the night at the bar. A lot had been happening without his brother’s knowledge, and for Kieran that was the lowest blow. He wanted nothing more than to be part of the family, but it seemed they were moving on just fine without him.

Persy had been thinking a lot. It seemed life was a lot more complicated then she could have ever for scene. She was always sure that no matter what, if you loved someone enough and they loved you back life would be just perfect. Over the last few months she had been given everything she had ever dreamed of, a fiance, a family, what she thought to be the perfect life. Then the stress of them being kidnapped had taken hold. The cat had recovered a bit by now, but never fully. She looked her age now. But the kidnapping of their children had only brought Persy and Kieran apart rather then together, or so it felt, but Persy was sure that once they all returned that all would be perfect again. But it wasn't. Nyx was sick, they didn't have time to take care of all of their children. And then there was Dracal and his bond with Nyx. Persy couldn't help but notice there was something odd about their bond, it wasn't exactly a normal brother-sister bond, whether the two knew it or not.

She quietly walked into the room, spotting Kieran sitting there. "Hello darling..." she purred softly, but a little warily. It was odd for Kieran to be just sitting in the room, in the dark. "Is everything alright?" she asked, slightly nervously.

Kieran looked up when he heard Percy, just seeing his fiancée nearly brought tears to his eyes. He loved her, he really did, but it was true… their family was falling apart.
“Yes… No… hell I don’t even know anymore!” He sighed in frustration and pulled his knees to his chest. He too was looking and feeling quite his age. His hands itched to hold the woman he viewed as the most precious thing in the world.
“Last night… I was tricked, by my brother into a bar… to celebrate gathering all of my children. Little did I know that he would so lovingly call over two females and force me into a few drinking games. I… I woke up next to one of them, but I swear we did nothing. Aidan… well, I have given my brother up for you. We will just say that… However much I wish to pin this all on him, it is mostly my fault. I shouldn’t have let him get to me; I shouldn’t have let all of this get to me…”
Kieran hid his face in his arms, trying desperately to find those well rehearsed words in his mind.
“I… I love you, you know that… but we both know that we are drifting apart. I no longer feel as though I am part of this family. Lately, especially by Dracal, it seems as though my word means nothing, the only one he will listen to is you. I want to make this work god damn it but I’m at a loss of what I can do anymore!”Looking up at her he felt the tears come… it was just too much… too much joy falling to so much pain. He wanted to be held by her, he wanted reassurance, but another part was ready to pack his bags and leave if she gave the word.
After all… he felt he was unworthy of her already without being undermined by her authority.

Persy stood by the door for a few minutes, just looking at him, her eyes flicking from his eyes to the rest of him and back to his eyes. She didn't know what to do or say. She loved this man, with all of her heart and soul. With every fiber of her being. But this, this coming out of the blue. She just didn't know what to do or what to say. She motioned to move closer to him but then decided against it so she slowly leaned against the wall, putting her palm on her forehead before unintentionally running her hand though her hair, a habit she had started to pick up from Kieran. She noticed this and stopped, looking at him again. "..." her breath caught as she tried to speak. She steadied herself then, continuing to lean up against the wall. "I...I believe you...that you didn't do anything. I trust you...I wish you hadn't done that...but I believe you..." she said quietly, looking in his eyes. "...but just because nothing happen...doesn't mean that I'm not angry at you....even if I think it was more Aidens fault then yours...I'm still annoyed. I mean you had children...if you had let yourself go a little more something could have happened. Then what would you have done?" she asked him.

It wasn't the talk of the drinking or what could have happened that bothered Persy. It was what he had said after that really bothered her. She looked at him, her face emotionless. She didn't know if she could say anything without crying. It was difficult not to. "I...I've been feeling the same...Kieran." she said, very voice barely audible. "I love you...I love you with all my heart. But ever since the children...got kidnapped...it hasn't been the same. I don't know why Dracal won't listen to you...god knows I've asked him too before....but there's nothing I can do about it. I want you to be as much a part of this family as anyone else...but sometimes it seems that you don't want to be...really...it's just a feeling I guess. But I want this to work. God I don't know what I'd...I'd...ever do if you left...you know how much I love you..." she said. She started to cry then, small tears running down her soft cheeks. "I don't know how to make this better!"

“Of course I want to be in the family! But if you don’t want me here then I will leave, and then you can carry on your peaceful life without me!”
He stood and flexed his hands, truly getting angry now.
“None of us know how to make it better! NONE OF US. Just because I don’t know what to do does not mean that I don’t want to be a part of this family goddamn it!”
He dragged his hands through his hair exasperatedly trying to calm himself. His tears formed angry tracks down his pale cheeks leaking over the bags that had never truly gone away. His arms ached just laying at his sides tensely, he wanted to grab her, lay his lips upon hers fiercely and just hold her, allowing them both to cry together, and to share their pain. However good his intentions he doubted it would go over well. He let out a low sigh that was as rough as a growl. He wanted this better, he wanted her happy again, not crying over stupid things he could have prevented… even if it took him leaving.

Persy's temper flared. She had never been an angry person but having Kieran shout at her for problems that were just as much his fault as hers, she couldn't help but lose her temper. "Well after what you got up to last night I don't know if you actually want to be in this family!" she shouted back at him. "This is both of our faults Kieran! But for god sakes don't act like you're the only victim here. Dracal thinks you hate him, did you know that? Your son, not through blood, but your son none the less, thinks you hate him! And I'm not sure how to comfort him because when I see the both of you fighting I can't truly tell him that he's wrong. You're the father Kieran! I'm sorry if you feel left out of the family sometimes but I can't help that! I can't help our childrens personality! I can't help how they act around you and how you act around them! Neither of us know what to do. I want you to be a part of this family. I really do. I want you to be there for them but if you're going to act like this I just don't know what to do!" she yelled, tears streaking down her face. She hadn't been this angry in forever. In fact she couldn't truly remember a time when she had been this angry. She took a deep breath and whimpered. "Why can't things ever be simple?"

Kieran stared at her, his temper becoming cold and harsh rather than hot and burning. His eyes narrowed dangerously.
“He is not my son if he is planning anything with my daughter, I will not tolerate that in my home, but wait. This is not my home anymore.” He walked toward the door, speaking to her while his back was turned.
“You believe it is I who think of myself as the victim, when perchance you do not listen to your own words.” He rested his hand on the door knob, with every fiber of his being tensing at the sound of her hurt voice. This was for the best; he reminded himself and turned, tipping his hat to her.
“Nothing is simple because life is not simple, I thought it would be because you once loved me, but now that even such a simple pleasure has been taken I must take my leave rather than disgust you more. Good day milady.”

Aidan sat outside their door, cringing at the sound of his brothers voice so cold and emotionless, the hot words had been one thing, but this, this was something else entirely. When the door opened he stood to stop his brother but found something pinning him to the wall, Kieran’s cane. Kieran hissed at Aidan and then dropped him to the ground, taking his leave.

Persy watched him with flaming eyes as he walked towards the door. How dare he speak to her like this. This person, whom had betrayed her once before. How had she ever trusted him in the first place? Would she have been better of to have raised their family alone, to not let him woo her once again. Now she couldn't help but feel like it would have been better. Not that she didn't love him, not that she regretted meeting him. After all he had helped bring into this world some of the most important things that had ever existed to her. But she would allow him to leave if he so wished. After all she loved him. She always would. If this is what he wanted to do then so be it. He could just abandon her once again because he was scared. She would let him this time. She wouldn't fight it. Not anymore. Not after having to deal with this pain not once but twice from them same person. She opened the door, yelling after him, possibly one of the few times she had ever done so in her life. "FINE! JUST LEAVE! ABANDON ME AGAIN YOU GOD DAMN COWARD! DOING IT ONCE WASN'T ENOUGH FOR YOU? WELL DONE! NOW YOU'VE BROKEN MY HEART TWICE YOU p***k!" she screamed before slamming the door and leaning against in. Finally her legs gave way and she slid down the door, pulling her knees up into her chest and crying into them, her body still shaking with anger. This was it. This was his choice. He would just abandon her, leave her alone again, just like he had done before.

Aidan leaned against the door himself and listened to her crying. He felt his own heart breaking at the sound of it, for despite his own knowledge, the girl was growing on him. All his thoughts revolved around was trying to fix this situation, to make it better again
“He loves you more than anything you know that?” He asked the door feeling like he would be perceived as an idiot by anyone walking by, but then he really didn’t care.
“Kieran told me once he waited his whole life for someone like you, and questioned why anyone as beautiful as you would love someone as plain as him. He really questioned that, questioned why you wasted your time on him, and it seems he was waiting for this, waiting for you to grow tired of him. You both need to let go of the past to move forward. This may actually shock you Percy, but I’m on your side…”He rested his head against the door and hoped desperately that she would believe him… after all for once he was actually serious in what he said.
“But that’s how I know he loves you.”
Kieran would come home, one way or another if she would only wait for him…

Persy listened to Aiden, confused by what he said. She was pretty sure that he hated her. That he wanted his brother back from her. But he was saying such kind words to her. Comforting yes, but also true she could tell. "I know. You may not be able to tell from that fight but I love him more than anything in the entire world." she said, her voice quivering slightly as she tried to control her crying. "I'm not tired of him. I could never be. I don't know what to do. I want him to be in this family but he seems to not care anymore. I...I know that can't be true. I've tried to include him but I'm not able to make the children act a certain way around him. I'd love to forget the past." she said, more to her knees then to the brother at the other side of the door. "You...you're on my side?" she then asked, confused. She certianly wasn't expecting that. She would have assumed that he would just give out to her for treating his brother this way. "I...I can't do this on my own. I'm not strong enough without him! How could he just abandon me like this? I...I can't do ths Aidan!" she shouted, beating her fist off the ground.

Aidan sighed quietly and mumbled to himself about him cleaning up his brother’s messes.
“Yes I’m on your side. I give him a week before he comes crawling with his tail between his legs looking for you. The question is, will you take him back.” He sighed quietly and stood up, opening the door prepared to catch her from behind if she fell backward.
“He really felt as though he WAS trying, that’s the thing, it why it hurt him so much to hear you say he didn’t care… hell he’s the one that brought Du back. What he doesn’t really show is that he loves Dracal, he does but he wants him to pick whether he wants to be a suitor for Nyx, or a brother to her… Sometimes he is too old fashioned for his own good you know? He sees Dracal as a son therefore he should not fall in love with Nyx or it is incest, of the mind rather than the blood in this case.” He was trying desperately to explain, to have it all make since, but he felt he was failing to convey his brothers feelings to their full extent. Hell he himself had risked everything coming here, after all he would now be perceived as a threat to this territory being a Leader of one himself. Perhaps it was that which had made the Siberian grow up, or perhaps it was the fact he could not bear to observe the pain his brother was in.
“You make him the happiest I have seen him in years.”

Persy sighed, her ears flattened to the back of her head. "Of course I'll take him back. I never wanted him to leave in the first place. Before I could even talk to him propperly he started shouting and then I lost my temper and...oh god." she said pulling her knees closer to her chest. "How could I loose my temper. How could I say those things. I know he cares. Of course he does. I can see the way he acts around the children. He really loves them. The problem that I don't think Kieran sees is that poor Dracal is only a child. He doesn't even realise what he feels for Nyx yet. We can all see that he obviously likes Nyx as much more then a sister but he doesn't know that yet...and I don't think it's fair to force any choices on him yet. He needs to figure it out when he's ready. And we need to support him. Of course it's not the ideal situation. Especially not for Dracal. I know how he feels, sort of, but Kieran should know that love knows no bounds. He should have seen how Dracal has acted around Nyx since she was born. He's always loved her with all of his heart. He just needs time to figure it out. And I need Kieran to be there for support him...you know?" she said quietly. "I had never been as happy in my life as when I met him. He still makes me unbelievably happy. He justs need to...I don't know...let go of his conventions I guess."

Aidan merely nodded and walked into the room, coming to his knees and drawing her into him, and petting her to keep her calm.
“You’re not alone in believing that, Kieran has too hard a time letting go of the past.”
He was quiet for a moment, allowing himself to catch up with his thoughts.
“You know you look like her right? He loves you, but he keeps trying to see parts of her in you.”
Aidan ran a hand through his hair and stopped talking, his heart hurting for the past and what was happening now in the present.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:39 pm

Persy let Aidan comfort her. She needed to be comforted right now and he truly was helping, however odd that sounded to her. She could have never imagined this, being hurt so badly by Kieran and being comforted by Aidan. Her world was truly being turned upside down by this event. "I know he does. I embraced it but sometime it just doesn't work. He needs to let go. To let Dracal just be a child for a while.." she said softly.
Persy shook her head slowly. "I was never told by him that I looked like her but I always assumed. He would look at me a certain way sometimes that would make me suspect something like that. Do I act like her?" she asked, softer still, almost afraid to know the answer. Afraid that the only reason why Kieran loved her at all was because she looked and acted like her, that she was just a replacement. That once she couldn't live up to his expectations that he decided to just leave. She had been thinking of this in the back of her mind for some time but now it seemed to have come true...and it hurt.

“Just like in all things there are similarities and differences, but knowing my brother it was your look that attracted him to you, but your personality that kept him. He is not looking for a replica of her, merely someone he could share his love with just as they did.”Aidan sighed; this was way out of his comfort zone. Though Kieran would never know, Aidan was not merely seduced; rather he had fallen in love with the girl himself. It pained him to recall all of the things that were lost to him now. Though karma had played a worse roll later in his life, their situations were reversed.
“You know, I used to love Valiant, just as Kieran loved rose. Though that backfired on me the same way it did him so long ago. Val fell for Kieran, but when I confessed my love to her she left, unwilling to choose between us. I guess what it means is that we move on eventually, though it is hard. He loves you for you Percy, don’t ever doubt that.”
