Cody sighed as he sat on the steps of the facility, tired. His class with Rachel had been tough, but his pockets held a few trinkets from the lesson. Even a bracelet he had stolen off one of the female techs that had annoyed him. Arytiss said she would be back to pick him up a... a quick glance at his watch told him it was close to four. So he had been sitting there, on the steps, for close to a half hour already. He had used the phones twice and no one had picked up.
Great, now what was he going to do for the next two hours until his mum got off work? For once, Cody was glad he was a child of patience and went back to staring off at the horizon, counting all the cars that went by. Slowly, the minutes trickled by as the child waited for someone, ANYONE, to come by and retrieve him from the horrid facility with the nasty techs that glared at him whenever they went by.

This was his home, though many people would of thought him crazy to consider it his place to live there was no other world he knew of. Thus Pepper had taken joy in chasing the technicians around, though he found one disadvantage at aging...he no longer fit in all of his hiding places.
Currently he was sitting in a tree in the higher up branches to look over the walls that encircled the compound. Though he liked to see the things going on outside of this place..he was strangely content to stay where he was. Of course this changed as soon as he heard someone exit the facility.
And he had watched him, in a delighted manner peering from the tree, squinted as he was a bit far away to make out the little details. Judging by its size the person sitting there was a child. This perked his curiosity even more.
Moving he clambered down the tree using his claws to keep himself firmly latched to the bark until he needed to let go. Dropping to the ground he considered bounding up to him...he had pent up energy after all. This child had wings.... interesting. He wondered if he could fly. Well...he thought it was a he, it was hard to tell from this distance.
"Yo." He called out as he walked closer. Running he decided was out until he judged how nimble the kid was ahead of him.

Cody blinked and watched the red-skinned child climb down the tree and walk over, calling out in greeting as well. Shaking his head to remove the fog that had settled in it, he stood up from the step and stepped down. "Hi. You here for a class or something?" he asked, curious.
As the other child moved closer, Cody realized just how different looking he was. Red skin with bluish rocky formations stretched across his body while large bone-like structures arced over his shoulders. Black hair with golden streaks coated his head and Cody had only scratched the surface. The child was seriously nothing like what he had seen before. Maybe Tykier was a little similar, both having reddish skin, but that was about it. So, what exactly was he and why was he climbing around in the trees?

Pepper's face broke into a toothy grin when the kid asked him why he was here he rolled his shoulders a habit he did when he found things amusing,
"A class? Pfft.." He stated with a shake of his head he crossed his arms across his chest as he stopped a few feet before Cody. Appraising him again, he sure was a girly looking thing...but he had figured it was indeed a he. He really itched to nom on those feathers of his.
"Wrongo..I actually live here." He continued after a brief moment of silence, it was true he was ...rather different looking...though perhaps the most ..unsettling thing about Pepper's appearance was the fact his eyes didn't reflect light, those golden iris's seemed to draw in people.
"Why are you here?" He bounced the question back at him.

Cody looked rather shocked when the other said he lived at the facility. LIVE?! How can you LIVE at a horrid facility like this?! "Class, wouldn't be here otherwise," the spawn replied, noticing the others eyes and finding them rather... unsettling. The light around them didn't seem to touch their golden depths...
"What's your name?" he asked, curious as to who this... rather strange spawn was, and why he was eying his hair feathers. Yet, he didn't move back, figuring if he did the other would just laugh. Besides, he could just duck and move to the side if the spawn tried to go after them. That was an interesting thought, someone trying to eat his hair feathers...

"Names Pepper." He replied as he then shoved a thumb in the kids direction.
"You?" Though he seemed a bit blunt it was cause he wasn't trying to be super friendly...though all he wanted to do was pounce the kid.
"And whats wrong with this place?" He asked raising an eyebrow as he took a couple steps closer. "What does it give you the heebby jeebies?" he asked with a laugh and then he plopped himself down beside Cody on the steps. Eyeing the wings as if he was wondering how chewable those were.

"Cody. What's wrong with this place? They don' have any nice stuff, are rather cold an' stuck-up, an' won' let me keep what I rightfully took. Finders keepers," Cody replied, scowling. His wings shuffled irritably, extending a bit out of habit. If only he knew what Pepper was wondering, he might not have done so.
"So, you live here. What d'you do here for fun, then?" he asked, curious.

He raised an eyebrow and gave a laugh at Cody's rather accurate description of the place he was starting to like this kid. First impression where everything with Pepper; and if he didn't like you off the bat it tended to take him a while to warm up.
"Funny you must not be scary enough, they let me keep whatever I take." He replied in a non-chalantly sort of manner though it appeared to be boasting. He finally moved to sit beside Cody on the step as if he didn't need an invite to get so close.
"Fun? I do lots of things. I chase the techs, and I get to run into kids when they come to the facility. Why?"

Cody laughed at the tech thing, not really minding the closeness. Pepper didn't seem that bad, despite him talking about scaring the techs. "Really? Sound like fun, chasing techs I mean. Why I ask? Not going to be picked up for a while. Mommy doesn' get off work for a couple of hours an' Ary probably forgot 'bout me," he replied, smiling a bit despite this.
"So, why not have fun while I wait? Who would know this place and what to do for fun better than someone who actually lives here?"

Pepper really liked this kid. The smile on his face was full of mischief as he looked over his shoulder and to the door and then tried to think of the best places to play.
"Ah well if they forgot about you you can live with me under Luthor's bed." He stated as if that was the only logical option available. He stood up and then scutteled over to the door of the facility and pressed his face against the glass door his eyes darting to see who was in the immediate area. Only the secretary.
He waved for Cody to follow. "Come on, I know the perfect place we can play."

Cody laughed, finding the whole "living under a bed" thing rather amusing and odd if the other spawn truly did live under a bed. Standing, he followed Pepper over to the door with a rather excited grin on his face.
"Then lead the way," he replied, glancing inside as well. Just a secretary lie in wait beyond the doors. Probably wouldn't care what they did by how bored and irritable she looked.

Pushing the door open he allowed Cody to slip inside first before he carefully followed in after. What a day! He was making a new friend and now they were going to play! Maybe they would play in the dungeons. He knew it was often locked up, but had watched Vampy unlock it many times. Or course he didn't like the cold...maybe the gardens instead? Or take him back to his room? Nah his room was boring...OH OH they could steal doughnuts from the techs! That was always a fun game. Even if he didn't like the sweet things.
He moved on all fours to keep himself not as obvious to the secretary and then jerked a thumb to show that Cody was to follow. He was excited his body trembled with pent up energy. He didn't speak until they had rounded the corner and the secretary was out of sight.
"You don't like the techs right?" He inquired turning to look at Cody a serious expression on his face.

Cody made a face. "Techs are evil," he said simply, making sure the tech couldn't hear him. It seemed like they could hear really well last time he was here... "Don't think many could like them. They're too cold and heartless," he added, scowling a bit. They hadn't exactly treated him well when he was waiting for Shadai to pick him up.
He held nothing but hatred for the techs that worked for the facility and that wouldn't change anytime soon, if ever. "Why?"

The smile on Pepper's face seemed to go even wider, he nodded his head at Cody as if happy with his answer. "Good good, that means you don't mind stealing from them either..." He gave another chuckle and then waved for Cody to follow him. He scuttled along trying to keep himself from being seen, stopping every once and a while staying perfectly still as people past. They all kept a wide birth around Pepper, glad he had someone to entertain him rather than themselves.
He finally stopped in a hallway and pointed at the door.
"The techs stay there at times, its like a break room of sorts. You ready for a break in?"

"Now, now; I wouldn't exactly call it stealing. More like borrowing without ever returning," Cody replied, a smirk creeping onto his face. As they crept along, keeping close to the wall and out of sight for the most part. The techs that did walk past didn't seem to care that they were there, or even looked at them.
After a little while, they arrived at a door that looked exactly like the others they had passed. Thus, the spawn had difficulty figuring out what made this one special. "We're breaking into a break room?" Cody asked, holding back a laugh at how ridiculous it sounded.
"Yeah, I'm ready," he finally managed to reply, finally wondering what they were going to actually steal from the techs.
