Staring down at the river, Sayen paced. There was a log from a fallen tree bridging the gap, a few miles from the river's headwaters, but it was still too far for a leopard to cross on their own. Letting out a bit of a growl, she glared across at Mkorogo. Braggart b*****d... Turning, she started up river to find a better place to cross.
Kamawi was having much the same problem as he stalked along the bank of the river, good eyes scanning around for an easier crossing point, his paws unknownigly bringing him closer to his sister, who he had not seen in the longest time.
" You may as well just try to swim, p***y. There's not going to be a safe point. " The bird sitting lazily on his back commented, feathers ruffling.
" Oh, be silent, Mkora, you over-grown feather duster. " He huffed out as he moved along the water's edge, resisting temptation to throw the damn birf into the current.
Pausing in her steps, Sayen tilted her head, listening. Now that sounded like a familiar voice... Was it who she thought it was? Quickening her pace, she hurried along the river, paws sinking now and then into the mud. Each step brought her closer, until she nearly crashed right into... "Kamawi!"
The large leopard was ready with a growl, claws extending quickly into the muddy bank of the river, more than ready to use them on who ran into him... Until he heard his name called. His eyes widened a bit, looking up into the face of his elder sister a moment in shock.
" Sayen...? " He asked slowly, ignoring Mkora's annoyed squwaks from being jostled from his resting place on himself.
The leopardess pranced around the male, ears up. "Mawi, it IS you!" A grin lit up her face, showing her absolute glee at seeing her other brother. "I was wondering where you went! I found Kory! He's on the other side of the river right now, waiting! He's coming home for a visit!" She wouldn't tell him right now that the rumors were true. Not yet, anyway.
He was tempted to ask about those rumors. Really he was.. But for now, he did not. He wanted to see his brother. And his sister. And if the rumors WERE true, he would likely be unable to look upon his eldest brother. " You're both here? I suppose I have good timing. " He said with a lazy smile, falling into a more laid back, relaxed posture.
" Sayen, what are you doing outside of out home..? " He asked her curiously when it finally clicked she was here, and this definitely wasn't home. Mawi had heard no word from her since he had left in search of their mother. " Who is ruling...? "
Shifting on her paws, Sayen looked away a bit. "Well... I wanted to find Kory... Before Daddy did... Which I did." Looking back up, she tilted her head. "When I left, Fumananya and Nava were left in charge, at least for now. I just... Haven't been back in a bit, but I'm heading home now. What about you...?"
His tail flicked out behind him a bit as he took in the news, mind quick to calculate how things would go with Nava and his Fu in charge... Well, Nava would surely keep her in line. " I will return soon. As soon as those I've found rejoin me. Three leopards... one will not come til much later, and the female-... Well, I will tell you of it when we reach the lands of our home. " This was hardly the place to discuss a change in the ways of their pride.
" Lets go torment our foolish brother. " He grinned at her, moving up to a tree on the side of the bank where they had just bumped. It was quite old and rotting. With a deep breath, Kamawi threw his body forward, slamming into it. It only took a few hits before the tree came crashing down, stretching across the river, to the bank on the other side.
Letting out a giggle, Sayen jumped on the log, all but dancing across it. "This should be fun! Kory's so serious!" Then again, so was Nava. But they were different kinds of serious. Tagging Kamawi, Sayen hurried across the tree and river to the other side, before tearing down river. "Race you to Kory, Mawi!"
He laughed out at that, quickly leapign to the log, crossing it in a few easy bounds, before tearing after his sister who had her unfair head start. " Sayeeeen! " He whined out as he gave chase, not using his full power, happy to let her reach their brother first. " You know I hate running! "
