((Ha, I still need to make her a rp picture/get her a cert XD Oh well, this'll do for now)) -She'd been here a little while now, the past couple of week passing quickly but pleasantly. Ever since Zimwi had introduced her to the pride she'd been trying her best to take it all in. All the new faces.. but more importantly all the new rules and beliefs. She couldn't remember her pride before... if she even had a pride actually, so she couldn't gauge how truely difficult or 'normal' they were. They didn't take a whole lot for even her confused brain to grasp however.
Having woken early and seeing few wandering about, she had headed out away from the pride center. And now she sloshed through water that almost touched her belly, batting now and again at moss and small sticks that swirled before her. That was one thing she could definately say she loved about here.. she almost never ever got hot anymore with all the shade and water.-

Gao sat at the water egde in his favorite sport, as he often did when he got the need to think. For one so young he thought alot, but mostly about the same things. About his pride, the spirits, his sister and the influx of new comers not born into the pride. He had to admit that he like many of them. They were kind and they all seemed very loyal.
Today Gao playful swished the water with he tail getting the tuff slightly wet in the process, but enjoying the feel of the cool water. He thought about his mother today and how wonderful he thought her to be, for what cub did not think the world of its mother. He was so absorbed in his thought was he watched the wripples on the water surface created by the swishing of his tail, that he hardly noticed anything else.

-Her ears twitched at the sound of of splashing, hardly an uncommon sound, and yet nonetheless interest perking. It could be some small critter swimming or eating, even just sticks from a tree being rustled loose by birds, but it could be something more exciting too. Swaying through the water as quietly as she could, pausing when finally she found the source, grinning in soft triumph.
It was a child, and an adorable one at that! His markings were exciting and beautiful. His soft playful game cute and charming. Pausing only a moment to wonder if she should bother him, she pushed forward, stepping nearer though she still stayed far enough in the swamp to keep her body half submurged.- "Good morning little one."

Gao looked up startled. He nearly fell into the swamp, but caught himself just in time to keep himself dry on the banks of swamp. He frowned slightly at the lioness in the water, but nodded none the less, acknowlegding her presence.
"Good morning Miss," he said politely giving a small smile.
He stood looking at her for a moment, "It is nice to meet you. Are you enjoying your swim?"
He moved back from the water to assure he would not fall in. He was ever the cautious cub. He also wanted to be well out of the reach of the stranger before him even if she was apart of the pride. Gao rarely approached someone he did not know and was mostly worried about protecting his sister.

-Awwww, such a cute and polite little one! The lioness' smile widened, eyes dancing over the beautifully complex markings that touched the cub, before finally they lifted to his eyes once more.-
"Oh yes!" -She nodded exhuberantly, not seeing to mind the ripples of water that fled back and forth around her from the quick motion.- "It used to get so hot in the savannah. Unpleasantly hot. It's so much better to have the shade and water to protect us here."
-She might have enjoyed clear water more.. had she really remembered large ponds of clear water, but as was the murky waters of the swamp seemed an oasis to the butterfly marked lioness. Dipping her head beneath the water for a moment, she smiled again when she lifted it.- "Are you out playing today?"

Gao smiled and listened intently to the lioness as she explained about the savannah. He was really confused as to place she mention and wondered what she meant by unpleasantly hot.
"I have never been to the sa-van-nah before, but I am really glad you like it here in the swamps. I have heard lands beyond the pride make lions smell unfunny and unswamplike."
Gao watched as she went under and came back up. When he played in the water he could not go out to far and he was kind of scared to go under the water. He was afraid he might not come back up.
"Not really," he answered, "I was thinking about my momma and how nice she is. At the same time I was kind of just making the water ripple. Not playing, not really."
Gao smiled lightly at the female, "How do you swim like that? Aren't you scared something will get you?"

-She giggled, nodding, far too unused to someone not knowing what she did, that was her thing after all, to stare with interested confusion at others! But of course the young one didn't know of the savanah though, she knew that much of the pride rituals atleast.- "I'm sure you will see it soon enough, when you go on your quest for you name and all. It's exciting to see new things I think, but I much prefer the calm and comfiness of having someplace to be."
-She smiled simply at his answer, nodding a little. He really did seem like a darling little thing. Thoughtful, cautious, she wondered if all children were as precious. Though in her mind she certainly recalled the sight of more rambunctious ones trailing after weary looking mothers.
Her eyes widened softly as his question arose. It seemed she had yet to come across any of the potentially dangerous swamp inhabitats yet. Her ears perked forward, drawing forward until her toes touched the squishy mud basin once more.- "Oh? What would get me? The mud can suck your feet up a little I guess, but I can usually pull them out, especially if you paddle and don't touch the bottom at all."

Gao looked up the sky and thought on his quest, he was not at all excited for it. It meant he would have to leave. He would have to be away from his mother and sisters. He did wish to have his new name and be an adult. He knew his mom and grandmother would be so proud of him, but he was a little wary of being out and all alone on the savannah.
"I really hope it is exciting as you say. I am really worried about what will happen when I am sent out. It sounds to different. I do not understand how will I will find a name out there, but I guess I must."
Gao grinned a bit at her comment about the mud, mud could be so fun, it was just so messy though. "I was thinking that maybe something slimey and big might come up and grab me. I don't really know what is down there though. I can't swim very well. I do not go out to far. I really just like to watch the frogs swim about."
Gao stood and padded over to the lioness, "you are really brave Miss, if you are not afraid."
Gao realized that he had not introduced himself after he called the lioness miss and blushed slightly with embarrassment. "My name is Gao. I'm sorry for not introducing myself sooner. What is your name?"

-Watching him softly, she nodded, thinking for a moment, before she offered a small word of advice.- "It can be kind of scary out there alone. But if you can make a friend or two to join you along your quest, I bet it won't be so bad at all. Different, but not bad."
-Her eyes glanced back towards the water as he spoke, waiting, watching... as if the big slimey thing he spoke of would suddenly swoop up from the murk and gobble her up. The water remained still though, and her shoulders seemed to deep in a soft sigh of relief
His words drew a wide smile across her maw, and she purred a little softly.- "Thank you! Maybe one day I can help you learn better if you like? It's probably best to practice when others are around anyway. More fun atleast."
-Her head dipped in a polite little bow as he offered his name, before she gained a smile she was all too used to. It was mildly embarrased, mostly sheepish.- "I don't remember actually. But soon enough someone in the pride will give me a new one anyway. Until then I've just been going by Miss."
"It's very nice to meet you though Gao. I like that name. It is short and fun to say."

Gao though on her words and nodded smiling, "I will try to make friends, though I have never been very good at it. But, I will try and hopefully my journey, my quest will not be lonely and scary."
Gao's eyes sparkled a bit when she offered to help him learn to swim better, but he stood their shying looking into the water, "Maybe one day."
He looked up her blushing slightly embarrassed that her was so afraid and for what he was about to ask. "Will you promised to keep the slimey things from getting me," he whispered, just loud enough for one to hear.
He plopped down by the water and swished his tail through it. When the female said she did not remember her own name and that someone would give her a name. He shook his head, "Mama says you have to find one for yourself. Other's say all you really have to do is look into yourself. Its hard to do when your younger, but I bet if you think about what really makes you, well you, then you came come up with your own name. For now Miss is a pretty name."
He smiled when she complemented him on his name, "Thank you, its my baby name. I'm happy to get to keep it even if its for a short time."

"Oh of course!" -She nodded exhubrently, voice drawn quiet much like his as she answered. It was sweet, not the innocently patronizing sound of most adults, for her mentality of was not exactly that of an adult. She meant it quite truely. If there was anything nasty in the water, she would mostly certainly do everything she could to protect him from it. Especially since she was the one trying to eventually lure him out further into the joys of swimming.
Nodding softly to his words of wisdom, her eyes cast skyward momentarily, a dreamy sound touching her voice.- "Once I have a name of my own I'll be a real member too. Not just a provisionary. It's very exciting, I think! I hope it happens soon."

Gao smiled at her, happy to hear she would protect him from the things in the swamp. Now he would have someone other than he family that he felt comfortable venturing into the waters with. To show he believed her he stood and waded into the water a bit stamping his feet in the muddy bottom.
"I sure hope you will be able to find your name soon to. It's great to become a full member and be considered an adult right. I heard it was truly an honor in our pride. The spirits will help you find a name, I just know it."
He lifted his paw and splashed her lightly giggle, "Want to have a water fight for a little bit?" Gao figured it would be fun and he didn't mind getting wet. It was swimming her wasn't to fond off.

-She seemed pleased with his attempt, soft purr rattling momentarily through her throat as he made his show of trust and bravery.-
"I hope so" -She nodded with a pleasant grin, adding lightly.- "I think they're just waiting until they find the perfect one!"
-When the question arose, she nodded excitedly. He was such a smart little one! The perfect way to compromise between the two and get him more comfortable with the water. She'd have to be careful though, her paws were so much bigger than his.
Dipping a paw in the water, she slapped at the surface, sending a shower of droplets his way, tail twitching the best it could, already heavy with water. They'd play for a little while, until both were drenched and tired she imagined and then part ways. Hopefully one day soon she would be able to teach him though! Sharing something you loved was always fun.-
