Rachel Pateko stretched as he stood out on the lawn in front of the facility. Today he was due to have a student - a greed and patience child by the name of Cody. From the child's profile, it said he should be about ready to learn to fly, but that would depend on how well he behaved and how much practice he had had.
The man had a few incentives to get the boy to actually take his lesson seriously, seeing as Cody was greed, he shouldn't mind learning if he got something out of it, or at least that's what Rachel was thinking. But he'd see when the boy got there.

"NO! DON'T WANT TO GO! LEGGO! NO! Ack-HEY!" Cody shouted, struggling as Arytiss carried the flailing child over her shoulder and to the car where she then strapped him in. "NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR!" he shouted, stomping his foot and slamming his fist into the car door when it shut.
After a long car ride to the facility with the child snarling and struggling to free himself. Which seemed nigh impossible, since the button to release the seat belt was stuck and the straps rather tight. Yet, he slowly fell silent, glaring outside instead since shouting with Ary around was... rather pointless. Finally, they pulled to a stop and Cody was released, stumbling out and suddenly seeing the person whom he assumed was his teacher. It had said to meet him outside...
Slowly, he wandered over and paused not too far away, looking the other over curiously. "You my teacher?" he questioned, noticing he had wings as well. Feathery wings, no less. Why was it that everyone had feathery wings or no wings at all?

Rachel nodded. "And you'd be Cody, I take it?" The man agreed with a nod. He wasn't much for long conversations and didn't really feel like prying beyond that. The kid didn't seemed to thrilled to be there, but most kids generally weren't happy to take classes. Not that he blamed them, his classes usually sucked.

Cody slowly nodded, looking the other over closely. Strange, he didn't look like any of the usual techs. He had wings, he wore normal-ish clothes, and wasn't all snappish and irritated. That was a plus, the child guessed. "So, what will we do today?" he asked, curious. This was going to be a skills class, right? So... what skills did he have? Flying was sort of one, so they might do that. Or lay things out and let him pick which ones were real or fake. That might not end well, to him at least. Things might end up going... missing.

Cody's eyes were instantly drawn to the gold coin, watching it with an almost ravenous look. Once the coin disappeared, his eyes snapped to Rachel and the look faded to a dim glimmer. "Fly? Kay, that why we're out here?" he asked, knowing that flying inside the facility didn't sound too... safe. Besides, being outside was way better than being in the facility anyways.
"So what are we doing first? I mean, for flying," he asked, curious as to how Rachel was going to do the lesson. He had tried flying before and actually hovered a bit, but it was never more then a few feet with his new, and rather sudden growth.

"Well that depends." the brunette intoned, stretching a little. "How often do you exercise your wings?"

Cody flexed his wings slightly, pondering how he was going to answer the question. "A bit everyday. Often when trying to reach things on high shelves," he replied, grinning slightly. Ah, he loved surprising his mother when he managed to grab things off the higher shelves. Unfortunately, Ary had figured out just how high he could reach and placed things just out of reach.

"Mhm. So you practice a decent amount then. All right. Well, then we shall start by seeing just how high you can get." Rachel intoned calmly.

"Yeah, s'pose I have," Cody muttered, glancing up at Rachel when he suggested they see how high he could go.
Stretching his wings out and crouching slightly, the child jumped into the air and pumped his wings. He managed to raise himself a foot by the jump alone, yet the longer he managed to stay in the air, the higher he rose.
Unfortunately, after only a minute or so and gaining an extra six inches in height, Cody fell back to the ground, panting heavily as he landed rather roughly. "That high, basically. Usually don't try that hard, though," he replied once his breath had returned. He thought he had done pretty good for no training whatsoever.

The man nodded. "Mhm. Well, there are two ways we can do this then." Rachel stated calmly. "Firstly, we could start down here and you practicing more jumps and keeping yourself up. Or secondly, we could start in the air and you could get your wings used to holding your weight till you can remain at that altitude."

Cody thought over the options, wondering which would prove to be more beneficiary. "Uhm... The second one sounds better," he finally chose, thinking he could jump off a couch or something to practice the first. The second seemed... harder to do at home if no one knew how to fly. After all, Shadai nor Ary had wings as far as he knew.

The man nodded. "All right then." he agreed, carefully putting his hands on Cody's hips so the boy was facing him - so his wings would face out and be able to move - and promptly took off into the sky with him. Rachel soared pretty high before stopping, letting the boy get a view of the grounds below.
"You're up here with me, and I'm a fast flyer, so don't worry about falling either when I actually let you out to fly on your own or in general." he assured the boy before moving so Cody was a bit away from him and could grasp his arms for support. "Now, extend your wings out and practice flapping from up here."

Cody gasped as the ground fell away from him, staring at it for a good, long minute before slowly bringing his attention back to Rachel. "That was so cool! What? Oh... Right..," the hybrid muttered, still fascinated by how quickly and far Rachel had managed to fly them.
Spreading his wings out, the child flapped them and once his weight seemed to diminish enough, grasped onto Rachel's arms for support and quickly realizing how tiring this was. At home it wasn't that bad, but here... exhausting. "How long did it take you to learn how t' fly?" he asked during one of his pauses for breath, curious as to how long it might take him to become this skilled in the air. Or at least be able to fly alone without aide and possibly with another with him.

"Initially it took me a few weeks to learn to do it properly but it took a good few months and even years of practice to get good at flying for long distances, at greater speeds, with greater weights in my arms, and at much higher altitudes." Rachel explained. "And yes, at first it is very exhausting."
