to improve on your drawing i suggest on looking at manga's and provide some sketches to work on your eyes, face, head etc.. and just practice to get better ^.^

First things first, you might want to take the picture with you directly over your picture instead of at an angle.

It makes everything look squashed which makes it look like you have your proportions out of whack. ((Though it could just be that your facial proportions are out of whack.))

----------------------

Your eyes look large for such a more-realistic picture, but I think that might just be stylistic difference between us two. Anyways, I like how you drew the outline of the hair, but I can't tell interior details because of your camera quality.

The back of the hair near the neck needs some work. The spikes look artificial and tacked on. I would suggest sticking with your hair style for the outline and sort of applying it to the back. Meaning the hair would go straight down in neat lines.

I like your appropriate placement of shadow underneath the neck. I also like the tearful expression on your character, almost a good-bye sort of expression.
