AIM Log -- Roxdene and Duma [Nuxaz and Kai]
He hated...actually, what day was it today? He was sure they must have names, but he'd never been told of any. But whatever today was, he hated it. Just that, specific day - all the others were fine. Well, except those he spent with Murdoc. Murdoc was horrible, and made his life hell, but Duma liked to repay the favor by making it just as bad for him. A small, subtle little smirk lit up the Leotah's face as he strolled through the jungle - ah, he liked to think he'd left a lasting scar when he'd bitten Murdoc's leg. Maybe even a limp! Ohhh, it'd be sore for days! What a marvelous accomplishment.
Sighing a little, Dumanla glanced down at his reflection in the watering hole he'd just reached, lowering her head to drink slowly from the cool water. He was so HOT - why was this day so hot? And ugh, he hated calling the day 'this day'. He, Duma, would give it a name! He's call it, uh...Duma day! Yeah, that was the best name in the history of EVER! So excited with himself, he stood tall, grinning.
"I proudly proclaim today to be DUMADAY~" he shouted in a singsong voice, fairly sure there were no others around.

Roxdene was testing her paw, which she had injured a week or two ago, but walking on it...briskly. It felt different now that she no longer carried the medicine cheetah's splint on her paw. It felt relieving. She was glad to be able to move it as she wanted without the restraints that had kept it in place.
Man that cheetah had been -weird-.
She pressed her lips together as she thought about it, making her way through the humid jungle. She shook her body out hoping to uncling her fur from her body, the heat has a way of making one sweat after all, only to be met with disappointment. Shrugging she pushed it out of her mind.
It was as simple as that to her.
Then! Then she heard someone proclaim something. Curious Roxdene sought out the voice's owner. "What is today?"
--
His chest was heaving a little heavily as Duma regained his breath after the rather loud shout, which was louder than most could manage. Duma and his family had come to realize at a very young age that he had a very, very loud voice. Wrinkling his nose a little with a small grin, he was just dipping his head to take another sip of water when suddenly...there was a voice calling back.
...Whoops.
He hadn't thought anyone was around! Awww, he probably looked like an idiot today. That was something a cub should proclaim, not an adolescent. But...being a cub was a lot more fun. You were allowed to play around practically all day, and Murdoc wouldn't have dare some anything more than a gentle cuff. Now they properly, like...fought, with Duma usually being the one to come out with new scratches and bruises. He often left Murdoc with a few nasty bites, though - he had sharp teeth.
"Uh, I....Why, it's Dumaday, silly?" he shouted back a little hesitantly. Might as well go with it now.
--
Roxdene ventured out into the opening where she spotted the...what was that thing? It wasn't a species she had ever encountered before and she couldn't help but stop and stare at him rather...well intensely really. She wrinkled her nose trying to figure out what he reminded her of, she saw cheetahness in him but he wasn't a cheetah.
HMM...
"Dumaday?" She called back a big smile plastered to her features as she trotted up happily to him. "Is that like some special kind of race day?" She inquired tilting her head as her tail flicked back and forth.
Because to her everyday -was- a race day.
--
OH~ There she was. A cheetah. Instant envy rose in the Leotah's fur as he grumbled softly under his breath. He always felt a certain resentment towards pure-blooded cheetahs, for being just that - pure blooded. He was a freak. A leopard and a cheetah rolled into one, and boy, Murdoc never let him forget it. His Ma loved him, though, and that was all Duma cared about. ...That, and getting the ladies.
Bu this one was older than he - a little too old, although she still seemed youthful as she flashed him a big smile, with a slightly confused repetition of his new day. Race day? A confused look crossed Duma's face as he cocked his head to the left, remaining where he was. He didn't feel like moving forwards to greet her at the moment. He always seemed to meet the crazies, and although this girl seemed normal, she could turn at any moment! Just like that spastic leopard cub...
"What's a race day?" he called back, puffing his chest out to look bigger, "And no! Dumaday is the special name for today!"
--
"Everyday is a race day silly!" She exclaimed laughing lightly. "A race day is where one races, and since I'm a racer, well...everyday is a race day to me!" She explained cheerfully. She didn't blame him for not understanding, he probably hadn't awakened the racer within yet. She could help him!
"It's not a special race day?" She repeated frowning just a little. "Oh. Well that's okay. Dumaday sounds pretty cool, is it just a name or a fun day in general?" She had a lot of questions and honestly they were pretty silly questions.
Then an idea struck her. Maybe he'd wanna race! She hadn't been able to race for a while because of her paw...Hmm...
"Do you wanna race? It's fun!"
--
...He was getting the feeling she was a crazy. His claws scratched the ground lightly below him, the male deciding not to take any chances this time. He was ready to run for it, and at the same time ready to attack. He did NOT want any more crazies giving Murdoc more to mock him over! But then she kinda...calmed down a little. Still a little confused over the whole 'race' concept, Duma relaxed a little - just a little - trying his best to smile.
"Uh...it's a fun day! Yeah, it's a super awesome day where everyone gives Duma treats. I'm Duma, by the way." Well, it wouldn't help if she didn't know who to give the treats to, would it? His smile brightened a little at the thought of being showered with gifts, though the confused frown soon returned at the term 'race' again. He'd heard it before, sure - he and his siblings always had mini races, which he'd always win and boast about.
"Wait...race? Like, in, running and seeing who's fastest?"
--
"Oooh," she mused thinking about his explanation carefully. But she didn't have anything to give him, so she frowned. "Well what does Duma like?" She asked before she caught the part that he was Duma. "Oh! Hi!" She chirped smiling again. "It's nice to meet ya Duma, my name is Roxdene," she dipped her head in greeting. "So what do you like?"
She needed to know what he liked in order to give him something for Dumaday after all. She'd probably have to go and find something, but she had to follow the rules of the day.
Obvious the white cheetah was a little gullible.
"Yup! That's what it is, I think it's lots of fun cause it test you y'know?"
--
Wait, she was actually believing him? Wiping the surprised look from his face quickly he grinned, dipping his head politely in greeting. This was gonna turn out well - she was a little odd, but in a good way! "Hi Roxdene. And I like, uh...I like gazelle. And shiny things. Yeah, shiny things especially!" He remembered meeting someone who'd had big, shiny bits of like...jewelery. It had been really cool, and he'd looked like he could attract the ladies super-easily. Yeah, that was what he needed.
He was pleased to know he'd correctly interpreted her use of the word 'race', though, "Oh, cool. And yeah, I suppose. Racing makes me feel kinda happy sometimes, although others it annoys me..."
--
"Well when I find something shiny or come across a Gazelle I'll be sure to find you." She told him with a firm nod completely confident that she could find -something- that he'd like. When the topic turned back to racing however, it required her full attention. It was the one thing that she couldn't be easily distracted from, which wasn't bad or good.
"I know what you mean, I think," she agreed nodding. "I love the thrill of racing, of pushing yourself to your limit in hopes that you'll be victorious," she told him thoughtfully. "But there's also the disappointing side, when you lose and sometimes it can be so crushing, but the chance of winning always keeps me going."
--
Duma flashed a bright grin. A part of him felt guilty, for tricking her...but it was a very, very small part. Hey, any chance of getting some bling was a chance he'd gladly take! His grin widened into a toothy one, although it lessened as she started talking about racing again. What was she, obsessed? She didn't seem to think of anything but racing. It wasn't...normal.
"Uh...yeah. Sure?" he spoke, shrugging a little. He didn't really care that much, to be honest. Racing was a game to him - a bit of fun to have with his siblings. Nothing nearly like what it meant to Roxdene. "So, uh...where're you from?"
