I go to college and every single desk is sooo tiny. They are all meant for skinny people it seems. The chair is connected to the desk so my hips stick out from the crevices. My other a** cheek sticks out of the chair seat as well.
The hard seat edge binds itself on my a** and it is so uncomfortable. I can not even concentrate about anything but the pain and uncomfyness.
Does anyone have any tips about being comfortable in a small desk? I noticed that this other heavy guy brings a leather jacket with him and sits on it so the seat doesn't hurt his a**.

I dont know anything other than maybe doing that coat thing, or maybe asking for a bigger desk if it would not bother you to do so.....myself I have never really had problems with small desks, so I dont really know what to do, I am stumped... sweatdrop

thanks! I would ask for a bigger desk..but i get embarrassed about it. maybe i should. I missed half the notes since i kept figiting trying to get a more comfy position. =\ I'm not morbidly obese but my a** is a pretty big size. redface

you shouldnt be ashamed of having a ghetto booty....it is fine, I know how to get around those things since my sis has a nice ghetto booty.......LOL
if you gather your courage up you should tell someone that there is others of your size, and those desks are really too big, ive had some skinny people have problems with those skinny desks, if they are the ones I am thinking about they also have hardly any serface area on them, I could hardly fit a peice of paper on one!
but good luck on finding a resolution xd

oh emm eff gee.. those things are too small for my fat a**.. i sit down and my a** hangs over each side and my tummy is smooshed up against the desky part.. ><;
and when i get up the desk gets way too attached to teh ameh's a** ><;;
*counts* 3 times my a** was mentioned in a post.. no wait 4.. haha its a record!

In my Geography class in grade 9... all the desks were like that... I didn't have a Huge problem with them... except the fact that my a** fell asleep from the horrid seat.... so I didn't really feel pain.
What really sucked for me though, is I tend to have my legs out to the right, with my right leg crossed over my left while I'm leaning on my desk working.. and I couldn't do that in Geo cuz the bar was there! crying and it just felt awkward doing that on the left side... *pouts*
I would say... BRING A PILLOW! I did that one day when my teacher said we were gunna watch slide shows.... everyone fell asleep.... I was sitting on my pillow semi-paying attention... it was kind of interesting.... O_o;

I always sit in my desks at an angle.... that way I don't take up as much space... desks are horrible!! It's on of the problems I have with school!!! sweatdrop

I really don't know how to help you seeing as I haven't had that problem myself. I just feel that it's irritateing how things seem to always be made for the scrawny/short folk.

I just feel that it's irritateing how things seem to always be made for the scrawny/short folk. car seat belts aren't made for short people!! 3nodding They always try to strangle my mother... she's 5' exact....

Sirenz =\ I'm not morbidly obese but my a** is a pretty big size. redface Picsplzkthx. heart I wish I knew a few tips but I don't, i fidget in my desks all the time and I really see no remedy besides hopefully coming to class earlier and get one of the more larger desks... Ask the teacher to accomdate you, im sure they'd be more than willing to, and maybe even legally obliged to. You can't keep on suffering like that, it's affecting your learning.

crying Thank you for saying this. I am so tired of having my a** go to sleep and have to limp like Igor to my next class. All of the chairs in the building where all of my classes are, are those half desk thingies that make you sit sideways and cut off the blood to half of your a**. The backs seem to only come up part of the way of my back...only to the small of it (for I have a big round a**). And then...there are a few of those desks that are smaller than the norm. sweatdrop I ended up in one of those and I got out of it...yeah...but I stumbled into the wall. Thank goodness I decided to wait until everyone had left to attempt this manuever so only my teacher saw it. I HATE SMALL DESKS!! I'd rather have those wooden desks from elementary school back. At least I could fit in a few of those. gonk
