PersonalityHer demeanor is cheerful and pleasant, if very quiet and reserved. She dislikes fuss and head-on conflicts, and will go so far as to completely alter her daily routines to keep things running smooth. In that aspect, she is very adaptable and can deal with changes and upheavals in the status quo well.
However, she is still a creature of habit and is happiest and most comfortable with established routines. Which is probably the reason she ended up in a research position, nothing enthralls her like recording and interpreting data. She does take work very seriously though, can have a bit of trouble switching focus to something else while she's on the clock. Her sense of humor is very dry and she has difficulty judging if someone is joking or serious. Many people have gotten the impression that she has no sense of humor at all.
She has a serious problem with authority, and an obvious kneejerk reaction to be submissive and obedient to those in positions of authority or higher rank. It's not out of any desire to be fawning or a sycophant, just a leftover from being raised among the dark elves, where those in power often used it. Opposing or correcting decisions made, even if she would have a legitimate grounds to do so, is a feat she cannot bring herself to do except under the most dire of circumstances. And even then, she stutters and hesitates and is generally miserable and unsure and rushes through any explanation, just to get it over with.
Kelsey also doesn't handle being given authority well either. She fears abusing that power, even inadvertently and she abhors being responsible for coordinating others. She's fine with one on one or small groups where everyone is more or less on an equal status, or in larger groups as long as there is a clear chain of command.
