The writer
Name: Jason Hughes
Age: 27
Gender: male
Physical description: Standing just a bit over 5’9, Jason is overweight and nearsighted. He tends to wear big black plastic rimmed glasses and dress shirts that are never quite properly buttoned. He has broad shoulders, but they are overwhelmed by the huge belly underneath them. He always wears shorts when not at work, no matter what the weather, and tennis shoes. He has short, moptop black hair, think Harry Potter with an eating disorder. He’s pale, as well, from spending too many hours at the computer.
Personality: Quiet and passive in nature, Jason usually gets shoved around by everyone around him. It builds up inner stress, which he expresses through writing strong characters. But when it comes to standing up for himself in real life, he tends to fail horribly. It either comes out wrong or it fails to come out at all. He has a great sense of humor, but it completely fails when he’s actually trying to be funny.
History/background: Jason grew up in a single parent family, his mother working double jobs to keep him in school. He spent a lot of time being taught by the television, and later on, the net. He’s still a massive otaku, and collects models. As a typical nerd who works at Walmart, he still lives in his mother’s basement and hides his playboy under his bed. He’s never had a girlfriend, other than in his imagination, and expects to grow old just like he is. It’s depressing when he thinks about it, but at least he has his writing.
Why they applied: He’s always dreamed of being a great writer. It’s the one thing he is confident in, and the chance to be a better one is something he’s going to jump on. He also sees it as a chance to get away from his overbearing mother, as well as come back and show her that he’s actually accomplished something worthwhile. It might also give him something to talk about with the girls he works with. He has a pathetic one sided crush on a girl in the gardening section. He’s only actually talked to her twice, though, both times to ask where something goes.

The character
Name: Raven Talonson
Age: 45
Gender: male
Species harpy/crow demon
Physical description: Tall and thin with pale skin and well toned muscles, Raven has large black raven wings coming from his back and eyes like a raven’s, black with the tiniest of pupils. He has high cheekbones, with a wide mouth and almond shaped eyes. There is no excess whatsoever on his body, other than his hair. His hair is long and pitch black, straight and falling to his hips. He has no bangs, but it tends to fall over his shoulders and into his face. He tends to wear baggy, worn jeans and black leather vests. Think biker guy with wings.
Personality: Sharp and playful, you never seem to see Raven serious, no matter how dangerous the situation is. He doesn’t always say the right thing, but he manages to play it off as if he has. He has his serious moments, though, especially when the subject of his family comes up. He was once the baddest of the bad, and still is more than willing to fight it out. He could take over the world, if only he had the attention span for it. He’s confident in himself and the world around him. He’s still dealing with the guilt of his past, though, and all the people who were hurt by his reckless actions.

The story:

Raven is an ex-rebel and once stood up against the leaders of the three clans in his world. He and a gang of followers made their lives hell and caused a lot of damage to their homes, graffiti, egg bombings, etc. But the real reason he rebelled was because he loved a woman who he couldn’t have. Her father wanted her to marry their tribe’s leader, because she was so beautiful. Raven rebelled and took her with him, but she ran away when she found herself pregnant, leaving only a dear John letter that said she refused to have her child grow up like him.

He couldn’t find her. But he knew that he had a son out there, and decided it was time to settle down while he searched for his wife and his son. He took over one of the tribes he had tormented and set up camp there as a leader while he searched for his missing family.

Because Jason has spent so long writing Raven (a character he’s done several short stories with), he starts to have a duel personality problem during the change. Each is aware of the other and they tend to disagree. Raven wants to find his lover and son, Jason wants to go back to his own world. Raven thinks that Jason should speak his mind, Jason thinks Raven speaks too much.

Between the two of them they find the ravaged, bloody home where Raven’s lover once lived. There is no body, but she is most likely dead. Somewhere out there is Raven’s teenage son. And his wife’s killer, who made it look as if Raven was the one that killed her by leaving a black feather.

They must clear Raven’s name and find his son before the story is finished.

The Writer
Your character is arriving as they are in the real world - a regular old human being, their regular old self. Maybe they're fat, maybe they're skinny, maybe they're nerdy looking, or maybe they're tough stuff with a mohawk. one thing is for certain, they sure are excited to be at this workshop.

Writer > stage 1
Arrival rp [O]
2 journal entries or pd's [X X]
Complete Workshop [W]

Stage 1
Oh No! David Bowie was right - you're turning to face the strange with changes! Suddenly you're beginning to look and feel a little different. Maybe you're growing younger, or older. Maybe your hair is growing longer. Maybe you have wings, or scales, or teeth, or are feeling more bold, more vicious. One thing is for certain: you know you're not who you were the day before.

stage 1 > stage 2
2 journal entries [X X]
2 pd's [C C]
2 mini quests ( based on your story's plot) [Q Q]
growth quest [G]

Stage 2
Some time has passed since you began your journey into being a fictitious character you yourself have created. Your changes have become more extensive. You're beginning to recognize yourself as the character you had envisioned for your novel, both physically, and to a degree mentally. Maybe you're having trouble remembering things, or maybe you're not. You're not that character yet, and your mannerisms may still be out of tune, or certain things not yet developed.

stage 2> stage 3
3 journal entries [X X X]
3 pd's [C C C]
3 mini quests ( based on your story's plot) [Q Q Q]
growth quest [G]

Stage 3
You've done it! You've completed the story, and, consequentially, may finally understand Baenare's famous quote 'Write What You Know'. You are truly living the life of the character you created. Maybe you're a stunning prince charming, or a valiant knight, or an evil warlock /dragon. Your transformation has been completed, and you are now to be faced with the difficult decision of whether or not you wish to stay or wish to finally go home.
