Private RP between Lee Katan and Lauss (epicZILLA) & Eli Galvao and Uzi (ladyumbra)

Location: Katan Household
Time: Early afternoon
Weather: Hot and dull with little to no breeze.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:44 pm

Lee patted down her hair in front of a mirror, making sure to look her best for the guest that was soon to come. It was like this every time company was to be over, though extra attention would be needed this time around. Her mother found out. Of all the people to learn a guest would be arriving, it had to be her. She couldn't just let them come over, no, they had to be treated to properly. After learning what the meeting would be for and when, much preparation was made for the man's arrival, even though he'd only be here for a short time. Beverages were stocked up, the house was utterly perfect, and, of course, Rosco had been given a better grooming than any dog in Drente.

Lauss was in Lee's bedroom, attempting to teach Rosco to sit with some last minute study sessions. The puppy had proven to be quite entertaining in that area; so much so, Lauss was under the impression that he should look into dog training. "Sit, Rosco." The puppy looked up at him, wagging his tail and smiling wide for the blue creature in front of him, and continued standing. "Sit." Still nothing. This might take longer than the two days they had been at it. Lee stepped back in the room, watching the two with slight amusement. "Miss Lee, do you think he'd respond better if I called him 'Mister Rosco'? I think I may be offending him..." Lee shook her head dully, opening her mouth to respond when Mrs. Katan's heels began clicking up the corridor. "Lee! Are we ready yet?" She sounded impatient, as if she'd been waiting hours. She stepped into the room, and Lauss and Rosco's attention turned to her. "Y-yeah, I guess." A hand when to her forehead and she groaned at the sight of her daughter. "You're a mess! Come here..." She tugged at her skirt, pulled at her hair, and yanked off her accessories. "I swear..." She shook her head in frustration after leaving the room, clicking heard as she traveled all the way down the hallway and down the stairs. Lauss picked Rosco up as Lee followed her mother distantly, trailing behind the group and still chatting to the puppy. "We do not have much time, Rosco. Mister Eli will be here soon. You must learn to sit. It is what the Madame of the household wants." A small lick on Lauss' fluffy cheek was the only response the small dog gave to the pep talk.

The four grouped together in front of the stairway. Mrs. Katan looked sharp and strict in her black pencil skirt and stiff but figured white blouse. And, of course, those heels. She was an attractive woman when considering her age, though much of that had to do with extensive plastic surgery. Lee stood close by, fidgeting aimlessly next to her mother and looking quite the opposite of her. A small, colorful overall-dress with a bright yellow t-shirt underneath and small purple flats on her feet made her look cute and not in the least threatening. Lauss and Rosco... well, they were still cramming, trying to get as much comprehension in that tiny little head as they could in the short amount of time they had left.

It was just a friendly visit, a checkup for Rosco so Eli could make sure he was healthy and adjusting properly to his new home. Still worn jeans, cracked leather gloves, bandannas and a wide brimmed hat had been swapped for dress slacks a relatively new shirt and his best jacket. Shaggy auburn hair, unable to hide under a hat was brushed back into something less of a mess than normal. It seemed appropriate to try and at least look respectable since he was heading uptown in a rather big way.

As he neared the house Eli noted that there had been no way of making Uzi look fancy, as it was the best the man had done was force the essentic into wearing a collar with blinking lights on it that made it look like a control unit. He was greatful the proto disguised itself reasonable well but was still a bit wary about it being around Lauss again, the two seemed a dangerous combination. However with all that was going on in the house right now and how odd the armored proto had been acting he figured it might be for the best.

Uzi predictably was silent the entire trip , eager to see Lauss ask him many question and see of the service type an essentic meant to think could give the answers needed. It's eyes glowed a bright yellow as they reached their destination

Okay, they're here. Everybody stop moving at look at the door like a moron.

And they all did, everyone watching as the doorman pulled open one of the doors to reveal the man and his essentic on the front steps. The mood changed dramatically from rushed to a jumble of different emotions. Lee, as always, somewhat nervous but putting on her best game face with a smile and a nod to both Eli and Uzi; Lauss and Rosco, happy and oblivious to what their role in all this was; and Mrs. Katan, confident and outspoken with her signature plastic grin, striding forward and greeting the man and his essentic. "Mister Galvao! And this must be little Uzi." Yes, little Uzi. She nodded her head to both of them and put forth her hand for a small handshake. He looked respectable. At least Lee was keeping good company. Her daughter trailed behind her, not wanting to bring much attention to herself, but not wanting to seem like a wallflower either. Don't speak unless spoken to.

Small talk first, business second; that was the way around here. "I apologize for Mr. Katan not being with us; he had some business to attend to. What do you do, Mister Galvao? Lee would hardly tell me a thing about you." Lee made a face behind her. I hardly know anything about him... Mrs. Katan straitened her back even further, wanting to appear taller and more his equal -- or superior -- in height. While these heels didn't hurt, she was still no match. An eyebrow cocked and her eyes fell thin; a predator, observing the prey that had wandered into her territory. Nothing against you, Eli, she was always this way. Critical and somewhat cautious about those around her. And with the hubby gone, there was no one to stop her from taking charge.

Lauss had spotted Uzi first, and while the grown ups were busy chatting he'd glided to his hunting buddy, puppy in his arms. "Hello. Do you remember me, Uzi?" He remembered her. Though he couldn't say for sure this proto was a male or female, and left a prefix out for now. Rosco tilted his head at the sight of the giant orange creature in front of him. He wasn't quite close enough to lick her. Dang.

So much for learning to sit.

Eli chuckled softly at the thought of Uzi being little, although an image of a small armored kitten flitted through his mind. That, he mused, would have been absolutely adorable. " I'm a hunter mam, usually I sell pelts straight to tanneries or the museum but on occasion I deal directly with clients." the man wasn't trying to make a client out of her either just explanation the general way his business worked.

" Perhaps I will meet your husband another day for now it's a pleasure to meet you" he stretched out a calloused hand to shake. She was going to be a bit awkward to deal with he though, but not so much as Banning had been.

Lee was weird to talk with too becuase of the age difference but at least they both shared an appreciation for dogs.. and the frustrations one went through when getting used to having an essentic around. Though he doubted lauss had ever laid a dead fox at Lee's feet.

Uzi's eyes had dimmed at being called little but the proto remained silent until Lauss, and the small dog he held, moved closer and spoke to it. " I remember you" the essentic confirmed. " We studied animal tracks." Uzi was also going to teach the tutor how to hunt but neither Eli nor Lee had been pleased with lauss holding a gun and this did not seem like the time to bring it up.

" Why are you holding a dog?" Uzi asked it's voice a low rumble as it both watched lauss and Lee's mother. There was something about the woman that was intriguing to the essentic. Lee herself though was of no interest.

Ah, a working man. As if she couldn't tell by his hands. "A pleasure, yes." Her hand shake was firm, and her gaze was constant. "Perhaps I could call on you for that some time. We could use a nice decoration in the study." While other women in this district may find hunting an undignified, almost barbaric sport, Mrs.Katan was on the side of "if it makes money and looks nice as coats and rugs, what's the problem?" "I'd give you a tour, but our house is a mess it seems." Lee cringed. The house was never a mess, and they'd had help work twice as hard today. "But you came here to see the dog, yes?" Okay, okay, let's get back to business. The woman had yet to refer to Rosco by name, preferring to just associate herself with it only when she needed to. She motioned toward Lauss, and he looked up again and sat the pup down.

"Rosco, sit." He got a blink and a tilted head in return. Okay. Not ready for that yet. Lauss looked up to Eli and reached for Rosco again. "He still has a baby brain. He can't help it." A few pats on the head, and Rosco stumbled toward Eli's feet, sniffing and debating whether or not it was a good idea to lick his shoe.

Mrs. Katan's eye brow shot up once more and head tilted up as her eyes fell to watch the dog. When she had given the okay for Lee to get an animal, she was under the impression it would be a Poodle or Pomeranian, not... this. She spoke up, voice confident as ever, but her face with a bit of unease. "How large would you say he'll grow?" Truthfully, she probably didn't want to know. She planned on letting him live outside when the time came anyway.

Lee stepped from behind her mother and looked up to Eli. "He's already started to learn to go to the bathroom outside. Lauss and I think he's really smart. I mean, he can't sit or anything, but..." Gotta say some praise about the poor thing, especially with that stare of her mothers.

Lauss' attention was only help by the others for a second, and he was soon back to Uzi. He nodded happily and purr a bit. Uzi remembered! "The dog is Miss Lee's. She has me take care of him. His name is Rosco, and he can't talk." That's about everything there was to say about him that hadn't already been said. Simple little guy, Rosco was.

Eli resisted the urge to laugh at the young pup's antics, it was nothing new to him. " About two feet tall when he reaches full maturity and anywhere from fifty to seventy-five pounds." Though he might have been deemed pet quality Rosco was still not going to be your typical pet dog, on the other hand he'd make a fine exercise companion for lee and protector. Not that he was going to bring those points up to her mother.

The man flashed Lee a small smile " It takes time for them to pick up non essential tricks, you just need to be patient and consistent." Like people each dog learned in their own time. " If he responds to his name and comes when called you're on the right track"

Uzi gave a soft rumbling laugh " Dogs do not talk but I don't think they have anything interesting to say anyways" the essentic admitted. The armored creature noting the way Lee's mother referred to the puppy as the dog, the same way Uzi did with Kell, this woman was worth approval. Perhaps the proto should speak with her later, though it was not sure what they would speak about, hunting things for the study maybe.

Mrs. Katan's eye almost visibly twitched. She let out a short, uncomfortable laugh and asked, "I-I'm sorry, I must have misunderstood. You said seventy-five pounds?" That couldn't be right, could it? And what about after he is spoiled to the point to where he looks more like a sausage than a dog? How much will he weigh then? Yes, he was going to live outside. Anything over 30 pounds was not fit for the title "household pet". He could make a good security dog, if it came to that. Honestly, what was Lee thinking, bringing such a beast into the family?

Patient and consistent. She could do the patient part, Lauss could do the consistent. As a team, Rosco was sure to know plenty of nice commands and tricks soon enough. Lee looked down at the puppy and picked him up before he ruined anyone's shoes with his growing need to gnaw on everything even slightly rubbery. "You wanna hold him? I mean, to inspect him and stuff." Mrs. Katan backed away a bit as Lee held the little dog up to Eli. "He's a little heavier than last time you saw him..." She gave him a weak smile, as she caught on to her mother's growing dissatisfaction with Rosco.

"You don't? I believe Rosco would have much to say. He listens to me teach Lee. I don't doubt he is very knowledgeable." Lauss was letting his naivety show again, though he was also making it clear that he loved this dog. In all honesty, he was more the owner than Lee was. Rosco was his responsibility; he picked up after him, he taught him, he cleaned him, he even slept with him from time to time. He wasn't even this attached to his master.

Ah, a good hostess never talks to just one guest. Mrs. Katan turned to Lauss and Uzi. Though it didn't seem she had much respect for dogs, she did for essentics. She knew how intelligent they were, and that Uzi would soon be as human as she was, as far as she was concerned. "So Uzi, how has hunting been? Have you had many opportunities yet?" She folded her arms and looked down to the two, a confident and only semi-inviting smile across her face.

Eli took Rosco with no problem noting the increased weight as Lee had said " He's a growing puppy he'll be steadily putting on weight for at least a year. At Rosco's age if he stops gaining weight that's when you know you have a problem." Oh he didn't doubt the possibility of over feeding or excess treats but puppies were extremely active and burned off most excess calories anyways. Too much weight could stress growing joints though so Lee would have to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't go from pudgy to butterball.

Part of him wondered, while giving the pup a light checkover, how well the dog would do here, the mistress of the household seemed less than thrilled with the puppies predicted size and weight. Then again he was Lee's dog and she seemed to be doing ok with Lauss.

Uzi had lost a small amount of respect for Lauss when it realized the affection the other essentic was showing for a dog. Then again Lauss had been in the house first, he was not the interloper in the dog essentic equation. Regardless the armored proto flicked it's tail as it realized there was no solid way to argue with the tutor. The puppy could indeed be smart and yet bad at commands.

The essentic's eyes flashed a bright gold as hunting was mentioned and a question directed to it by Lee's mother. " Not as many as I would like but hunting has been good. Now if a good time of year to catch foxes."Uzi felt smart relaying this bit of information as if it was somehow relevant to anyone other than itself and Eli.

" How do you walk in those" The proto motioned towards the woman's shows with a large tawny paw. Shoes were supposed to be flat like feet to provide balance and yet these were clearly not. " Do they provide a special function?" Should Uzi ask Eli for some once they were an alter?
PostPosted: Fri Jun 19, 2009 4:24 am

Lee nodded, trying her hardest to remember everything he was saying. Sheesh, Lauss, get over here and start doing the note taking for her, would you? "I haven't fed him any steak, like you said. And he hasn't fallen down the stairs yet. Lauss has been really careful with him so far." She nodded to herself, trying to remember all the worries she'd had when she first held the pup. At any rate, he wasn't dead yet; that was a step in the right direction. She was a pretty good owner, wasn't she?

In reality, it was Lauss who was the good owner. He was practically a doting mother, watching over her child and making sure harm never came its way. He kept an eye on Eli, ready to snatch Rosco mid-air if the man happened to drop him. Hey, you never know. The proto, noticing that he wasn't really in the conversation anymore, turned to watch Eli and Lee, waiting until he could practice the sit command with Rosco once more. They were so close before, if only they had a few more minutes, surely the puppy would have gotten it by then...

Mrs. Katan cocked her head, her face lighting up with interest. "Foxes? They have such nice fur." She must stay in touch with these people. Think of all the pretty scarves and stoles she might get. The woman was a bit caught off guard by Uzi's question, having never been asked such a thing. "Heels?" She looked down for a brief second, looking at her shoes and bringing a hand to her lips as she laughed. "It's a skill that takes many years of practice to master." It was true. There was a reason Lee chose to wear her flats. "They make me look taller." That was their function in a nutshell. She straightened her back once more, looking down at the proto from as tall a height as she was ever going to be. "You could always step on someone with them, depending on the type of heel. They could end up working like your claws if you get it right." Not that she needed heels for that; those fingernails of hers could easily do the job just fine. Her explanation was meant to be a joke, but she wasn't laughing, begging the question, "Wait, you are joking, right?!"

" Sounds like you two are doing a good job then" Eli's eyes slid over to Lauss. He seemed to be the one in charge of training for now which was certainly interesting. " Just as warning he's still young and may n** at you when you're trying to force him to follow commands. Don;t let him do that" Eli's voice was calm but firm " The minute he thinks he can get away with that he thinks he's better than you and you're more likely to get a serious bite later on as he grows." Technically it was a warning for both lee and Lauss but he figured Lee probably already knew to not allow that kind of behavior, that it lead to aggressive dominant dogs later.

As Uzi examined the shoes again the essentic agreed they would make a decent weapon with any kind of force behind them. A hard storm or a good kick would likely puncture the skin of the person being attacked. Shoes, a subtle and elegant way to be dangerous. Humans were very ingenuitive, perhaps even more so humans females. Eli's boots protected him from animal bites but did nothing as a weapon themselves. Uzi was certain one could make heels both offensive and defensive.

" Heels are a skill I will master then when I have grown beyond this form" Uzi didn't know what it would look like later but preparing for any potential loss of weaponry was a good idea. The proto noticed heels might be hard to manage out in the wastelands but if anyone could do it was them.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:16 am

Lee nodded at the praise, and Lauss scooted forward to grab some for himself. Lauss hadn't yet experienced nipping, and it was probably a good thing. Lee had never known of such a thing, and Eli was the only person to warn her of it. She was a first time pet owner, and was somewhat limited on her knowledge of puppies. "O-okay." "Rosco's going to bite me?" Lauss reached for the puppy in Eli's arms, wanting to test the man's theory on nipping puppies.

Mrs.Katan smiled at Uzi playfully as she noticed the essentic looked over her footwear. "You like them?" She pointed her toe out and closer to the essentic so Uzi could better examine them. "I'm sure you'll make a fine and proper young lady, Uzi." There, she said it. Uzi, you should want to be a girl. You should want to wear heels. You should want to dominate, but be graceful and feminine all at once. It took skill, like the heels, but was well worth the effort and time.

"I could give you a pair if you'd like. For when you're older." She cocked her head and grinned. "I have quite a few to pick from." Consider it payment for the future hunting you'll be doing for her, Uzi. Because she will be asking for some furs here soon, just you wait and see.

Eli handed the puppy back to Lauss and nodded " Like most mammals they teeth and chew but you can;t let them chew on you or there becomes dominance issues and you could get seriously hurt." Even puppies could draw blood.

A lady, Uzi pondered the word for a moment thinking about it before nodding. Yes she could still be a hunter and a lady, certainly Miss Katan seemed to be both in her own way." Thank you, it would be nice to have heels for when I am a lady."

Eli resisted to urge to groan upon hearing that, a lady? Really?
PostPosted: Sat Jun 20, 2009 10:02 pm

Lauss happily took the puppy in his arms, cradling him and trying to keep him from squirming onto the ground. "Rosco enjoys biting things. But they aren't me or Miss Lee. He has chewed up four pairs of shoes so far, and one of the legs of Miss Lee's chair, along with the edges of some of my books. He seems to enjoy it..." Rosco's legs kicked at Lauss' arms, and he decided perhaps he should let him down for once. Back on the ground, Rosco was immediately back to the sitting lessons from before. "Sit Rosco." No sitting was done, but neither was there any biting. Perhaps he needed to actually sit for this to work. Oh well. We’ll just have to keep at it is all.

Mrs. Katan smiled fiendishly at Uzi's response. Good, good. "Mister Galvao, we're just going to head upstairs for a bit. Make yourself at home." No chance to protest, unless the man wanted to chase after them. She gave Lee a "be a good girl while I'm gone" look before looking back at Uzi and pressing forward. She strutted up the stairs, not fumbling or having any difficulty managing herself on what probably looked like stilts to the proto. Down the hall she strode confidently, clicking her heels proudly with each step. Okay, perhaps she was showing off a bit for the proto, but how else was she going to convince it? She stepped into the master bedroom and walked over to the closet. As it was opened, a massive collection of footwear was revealed; every possible kind of heel could be found somewhere within the rows and rows lining the sides of the walls. "Take your pick." The woman glaced down at the orange essentic and stepped to the side. Folding her arms with a cocked eye brow and proud smile to match, she looked upon her treasures; it was quite an impressive sight.

" You shouldn't let him chew those kinds of things either" Eli said with a soft sigh as he watch Uzi head off with Lee's mother. " There are specially cookies bones that puppies can chew on that are better for them " He looked sternly at Lee " Chemicals in papers and the treatments on wood and shoes could make him sick if he ingested them."

Much like at home Uzi bounded up the stairs several at a time, not liking trying to move her bulk on such a weird incline slowly, fortunately the essentic had the balance to pull it off. Her eyes kept a soft steady glow as she watched the way with which the woman leading her walked, yes this was what Uzi wanted to be.

Upon looking into the closet Uzi examined many of the shows before finally motioning towards a very open silver strappy pair " Those look interesting" They all looked interesting but that pair called to her the most.
