Does anyone use one of those manual, push powered lawn mowers? I'm interested in them, but I've heard a few people say dulling blades is a major issue with them. I was curious if anyone knew how often they need to be sharpened, if it's easy to sharpen them, how well they work, etc.

Only thing I know about them is they practically weight a ton.

All I know is if you have a decent sized lawn, it will take you ALL DAY. My grandfather use to have one when my mom was a kid. Apparently it's a lot of back and forth and will take you a very long time if you have a yard my size. Not to mention you'd probably be completely exhausted.

I've heard newer models are supposed to be more efficient and lightweight than the back-in-grandpa's day ones. Is this true?
The idea appeals to me.

I gave one a try once---it only cut an 18" swath, and since I had a big yard, it was a waste of time. And it was, as previously mentioned, extremely heavy.
Electric mowers are great, though, as long as you've got the extension cords to get them to every part of your yard. The one my dad had was almost silent, and cut grass at a good rate. He could run it in the middle of the night if he wanted to, and not disturb the neighbors! Too bad it would be just way too small for out here----

I found one in my garage years back! It was so dulled and it was insanely heavy even when I cleaned it and oiled it. They're cool though. If you really want to work out get one.

I need some exercise! =P Through the blades getting dull quickly sounds problematic. =[

We have an electric lithium battery mower from Worx. It's super awesome and quite. The company is not like "omg!!! green", but they are environmentally friendly.
