Who: Vyn, Ethan, Sevillin, Werika. When: Midafternoon, around 3:30 pm. Where: The dentists, located in a nice section of Aekea. Weather: Slightly overcast but warm regardless.
Medical check up complete, the next health box to tick was the dentists. Yet again Ethan had opted not to go for a high flying place... Like Kenth’s clinic this dental practitioner held plenty of honours, despite not being private, which to the businessman spoke louder than expensive bills and suchlike. Surely working hard to gain a good reputation was better than a flashing diplomas funded by the parent’s riches? (Ethan had worked his way up the business ladder and thus respected and trusted other hard workers more than those who had their job handed on a plate because of parental influences – monetary or otherwise.) However, unlike the check up with the white haired doctor this visit to the medical area was for both him and his floating charge. Admittedly there seemed to be little to worry about with Vyn’s teeth since she utilised them for eating only once in a blue moon, though when she did it was to chomp on a greasy burger... But getting her to listen to the good advice of the dentist about brushing regularly might get her into the habit and keep her teeth in top condition.
The pair approached the posh looking glass doors and entered, Ethan first followed by a slightly nervous Vyn. Of course, what met them was nothing to marvel at as it fitted the general stereotype for dentist receptions: an abundance of potted plants, a few fans thrumming on the ceiling and a pleasant looking receptionist, but otherwise quite droll. “Hello may I help you?” Inquired the woman behind the desk, a bemused smile forming on her painted lips. Ethan of course smiled back and replied with the details of their appointment. The raevan girl looked around as her guardian engaged in the polite work chat... The dentist seemed ok so far, but the nerves gnawing at her still remained.
Why did she have to do this? For a girl who didn’t like much physical contact the idea of some stranger poking around in her mouth made her very on edge. After all, she didn’t eat anything often and when she did it wasn’t like she left anything hanging around in there to go bad... But before she could summon up another reason for why they shouldn’t bother (there had been a few in the car) the receptionist had directed them to a waiting room and Ethan was striding confidently off... Sighing Vyn trailed after him... Receptionist’s curious gaze following her till the waiting room door click behind her. Evidently she had never seen a half-formed floating person before... Little did she know that moments later another one would be making his way through the glass doors straight towards her.

The door was opened again by a dark arm that waited for a little frei to float through. He moved quickly to the receptionist's desk with a cheery and ignorant disposition. We`rika followed close behind, doing his best to smile politely at the woman's surprised look. "Uhhh--" What was he supposed to do? He'd never been to a doctor's office of any kind.
"Just sign in here please and the doctor will be with you shortly..."
"Oh..." The shaman looked down to a clipboard with chicken scratch written all over it, or more precisely, English. Goddamn you, English. Always taunting him. Glancing at Sevilin, his ward sighed and took the pen, scribbled his name down and the date. "Anything else?"
"Have you been here before?"
"..... Nooo..."
Swiveling in her seat, she brought back a plethora of forms to be filled out and watched We`rika pale. "Is there a problem?"
".... ....... No..." Taking them stiffly, he handed them to Sevilin who, with a shrill squeak, handed them right back.
"Vyn!" The little sea fairy floated over to the familiar Raevan and smiled. "Heeey! I haven't seen you in quite awhile? What are you doing here?! Are you getting yer teeth check out or whatever or--whoa.... Who is he?" In his excitement, he hadn't noticed the commanding presence beside Vyn.
"Goddamni..." The shaman mumbled. He didn't want to, nay, couldn't fill out these papers by himself! Dragging himself across the entrance like a pouting child, he sat a few chair away from Sevilin, the Raevan and her owner. The buxom Raevan seemed very familiar, but he was pretty sure she had had a female guardian. Not that he really cared all that much, as long as the Raevan didn't ******** with Sevilin.
Not one for small talk with anyone, let alone a stranger, he pulled his eyes back down to his lap to bemoan the pages of enigmatic symbols that mocked him with their ...... mocking!

The waiting room was almost as plain as the reception. The walls were whitewashed and a handful of posters were pasted around the place depicting different messages regarding oral hygiene; garish smiling cartoon characters exclaimed to children about how it was cool to brush your teeth, whilst on the other hand, more adult posters revealed the harsher truths regarding mouth cancers caused by smoking. Vyn took each of them in as she panned the room and was quite astounded by how much care it took to maintain a healthy mouth... Brushing, flossing, mouth wash... The rose frei was almost glad that she didn’t use her mouth for much other than talking; adding all this tooth care into her routine made the idea of eating very unattractive. She was going to ask Ethan if it really was as long winded and complex as the posters seemed to make it - she’d never once seen her guardian brushing his teeth or ‘flossing’ (whatever that was?) due to the fact they had separate bathrooms - but before the question could form in her mouth, her name had been called and she turned to look at the source.
To her surprise the person across the room was another frei, she’d half expected a guardian or regular human that she’d met in the past – after all, for most raevans there was very little point in the dentist. Obviously the raevan was one that the rose femme had met in the past and indeed the long blue hair and extremely feminine appearance struck a bell.
“Sevilin?” Yes, that was his name. She couldn’t get him mixed up with anyone else because there were no other blue haired boys amongst the raevan community. However the sea fairy did look slightly different, he wore gloves on his effeminate hands and he seemed to have grown slightly which was understandable since it had been a long time since they last met... Just as he had been on their first meeting he seemed pleasantly good natured and to be polite Vyn summoned a smile. “Yes... Ethan booked me an appointment, though I don’t think I need it.” Her response both answered his inquiry regarding her purpose here and his shock at her new carer, so as to avoid painful quizzing regarding his identity. “And how are you Sevilin? Are you here for your teeth too?”
Whilst the raevans conversed Ethan did as he usually did in situations where Vyn was familiar with a fellow raevan: he examined the guardian. However, this guardian didn’t exactly strike Ethan as the type of guy that would own such a delicate looking raevan... Dark skinned, noticeably muscled, unshaven... His image spelled out to the businessman that he wasn’t part of the crème de le crème of society. Regardless of this Ethan swallowed his prejudice against the man’s appearance; he must be an eligible person if the LAB trusted him as a guardian to the raevan.
Currently it seemed as though the man wasn’t in the mood for idle conversation as he poured over the forms looking rather stressed...
“Hello... Could I help?” Ethan inquired, filling out forms came as easily to him as breathing thanks to the years of business admin.

"Oh really...? We`rika says I may need it. Apparently I eat a lot of candy aaand I guess thas bad for your teeth or something..." He waved the notion away as something trivial, not surprised to see We`rika making a big deal over nothing, especially about his lil munchkin. He looked around the very ... sterile looking reception area, toward the nurse and then over to a door beside her that lead... somewhere. "So... what do they do here? I mean, do they just.... look at our teeth or....? It's not like a doctor's office is it?" He wasn't a fan of being poked and prodded.
We`rika common brown eyes lifted from the pages to glower at the man to his right with unbridled hostility. His short nails scratched across the underside of the clipboard with a slight squeal if the scowl wasn't enough of a put off. The shaman looked back to the application in front of him before briefly glancing at Ethan once more. This time he gave the older man a look over. He looked the brooding type. Swanks suit that probably cost more than We`rika's life and an aura about him that told everyone he could pay to kill you and totally get away with it.
"........... Are you a lawyer?" He was betting on a defense attorney.

Candy? Vyn frowned slightly. She had tried some of the confectionaries that seemed to be very popular amongst humans, especially children. But nothing about it really explained why they were eaten so often; they weren’t filling (unlike the big burgers Vyn did indulge in occasionally) and their sugary taste quickly got too sickly for the rose frei. The only sweet that she did have a slight fondness to was black liquorice; the taste was unique and not sickly at all, however even then she couldn’t eat large quantities of it like she had seen children do – demolishing a whole packet in minutes. Now with the knowledge that sweets were bad for teeth too – something she hadn’t been aware of – the reason for people’s attraction to them was even more confused in her head. She didn’t query the spritely raevan in front of her though; somehow she thought that quizzing him on his eating habits wasn’t wise – especially when her own diet included sneakily eaten greasy burgers.
“They look in your mouth to check your teeth are ok,” her rune’s glow dimmed slightly as she explained – she was not looking forward to her encounter with a dentist. Sevilin was right to suspect that it was like a doctor’s office though. So far the clean and sterile appearance was almost a twin environment to Kenth’s practice; it even had the strange unnatural smell.
Clicking his tongue with a touch of distaste Ethan curtly shook his head. “No. I’m in business and good at filling out forms.” He was tempted to add, ‘unlike you’ onto the end of his reply... But he refrained from being rude – just because the man had been snappy didn’t mean that he should respond with equal unmannered speech. None the less, Ethan’s suppressed prejudice against the tanned man was beginning to rear its ugly head, even if the businessman didn’t realise it: Mostly in the form of a slightly unturned nose and a stiff ‘I’m better than you’ posture.

"Jes yer teeth...? Guess thas not so bad...." He had hoped his nonchalant words would relax the tension in his shoulders, but nothing softened and his tooth twitched in pain just to remind him why he was here. How was he supposed to know this could happen? We`rika always said 'Brush yer teeth! Brush yer teeth!' but never did the words 'If you dun, yer teeth are gonna ro' ou' of yer mouth and you will die!' ever pass his lips. How was he supposed to know then?! What if he became a toothless hillbilly like the ones he had seen on TV? He would kill himself! He would. Sevilin was not living toothless!
Whatever joy the sea fairy had inside him was completely deflated, slumping beside Vyn.
"........" We`rika frowned like a petulant child, holding his forms close to his chest. Unfortunately his son had to pipe up.
"Jes give them to him, We`rika. You can't read, he can--"
"Thank you, Sev!" His guardian's glare was made to shrivel the blue frei's tongue. "I can usually fill these ou' bu'........ there's........ a lo' of ... long words in this one......"

The little spat between unkempt father and pretty little son made Ethan’s displeased nature flare into a cruel smile of triumph. The man couldn’t read yet he had the cheek to rebuke his offer of help with such rudeness? The businessman’s aloof posture tightened and he held out his hand for the forms, taking them from the man and placing them upon his lap. The man’s certainly seemed stumped by his child’s embarrassing interjection and Ethan allowed a twitch of a smile to reach his lips. Long words? Yes, there was lots of text strung together to form a maze of questions but they were all relatively simple. Sighing he pulled a pen from the top pocket of his suit – an expensive ink one – revealed the tip with a curt click and poised it over the form. “Name? We’rika did you say?” He paused, raising a quizzical brow at the oddly named fellow. “How do you spell that?”
Vyn gave her father a baffled glance. He was being ever so stony towards Sevillin’s father and she wasn’t entirely sure what the reasoning behind his actions were – the only times he had seen him be openly unpleasant was when someone was threatening towards her or him first. It was quite out of character of him (in her eyes) to be so unwelcoming. However, unlike the sprite she did not interfere with her father and instead gently – awkwardly – patted the blue haired boy that was slumped against her.
“It can’t be bad... Ethan wouldn’t make me if it was bad.” She reassured him. The nervousness he was leaking from every pore was slowly infecting her despite the fact she had entered the building without much worry. Exhaling slowly and relaxing her shoulders she soothed herself that the dentist would just have a quick glance at her mouth and then it’d be over.
From the next room the sound of a drill screamed loudly. Suddenly Vyn was no longer relaxed and the considerate touch of the back of Sev’s gloved hand turned into a nervous hold.
