The dark, purple clouds swirled in the sky, threatening rain. The sun was no where to be seen, even though it was noon, and it should have been in the center of the sky. But it wasn't, much to Selena's pleasure.
It had not rained for awhile, and the grass and plants had began to look a little yellow from the constant summer sun. But not today.
Selena's stomach complained at its empty state, growling loudly. She sighed and obeyed. She trotted off to the forest, passing the odd Soquili on the way. Not many were out today.
She entered the forest with is long grass and deep shadows and began to munch hungrily on the overgrown grass. She nodded in greeting to familiar soquili also in the clearing, but one caught her eye. it was a brown stallion and he was not grazing, instead, he was having a staring contest with a plant. At least, thats what it seamed like. She cocked her head and the strangeness of it all, and began to approach the stallion. Her legs driven by curiosity.

 Chev stared at the plant almost willing it to defy him yet again. He crouched down and placed a hoof on the plant and after 3 seconds took it off, were it remained flat... for 5 seconds. He then grunted at the offending plant. Glaring he spoke at it. " I should eat you, but you smell bad!" in a low slightly joking voice.

Selena saw the stallion playing with the flower and wondered even more if there was something wrong with him. She looked around at the other grazing horses, they did not seam to notice him. Or maybe this was normal... she thought in wonder. Then she heard the stallion talk to the flower.
She just stared.
Then, seeing as he had not yet noticed her, she ate the flower. She chewed for a second and then its acid juices touched her tongue. She spat it out in disgust.

Chev blinked then stuck out his tongue.
"eww, does it taste as bad as it smells?"

Selena began to gag, what was that?
"Worse!" Then she smiled, the stallion seemed a little more normal now, he had very pretty blue eyes, and his speckled nose made her smile. He was just like a foal.

"will do," she nodded, "they are very cute."
Then remembering her manners she bowed and asked, "May I ask for your name?"

Chev's face went blank for a while " I am not cute."
he then looked away from her and then saw her bow,
"Well my name is Chevalier but alot call me Chev. Nice to meet you."

"Its nice to meet you Chev. I am Selena. You can call me Sel if you really want to. Im not too fond of it though." She said with a wink.
She did not respond to his first sentence, everyone is entitled to their own opinions about their looks and other things. If he didn't think he was cute, fine. She did not think herself pretty, even though many said she was.

Chev smirked seeing an opening, "Ok Lena, nice to meet ya. I bet you wanna wash out that horrid taste don't cha?"
Hopefully she won't say anything else about his freckles, he hated that.
He thought she might be fun, maybe she could like to his the family waterfall. He'll ask later.
He then blurted out," what's that thing on your head?"

Selena frowned at the word 'Lena'. It sounded like some strange stork like thing... Well, no matter.
"I do, what kind of plant was that?" She asked him as she walked over to a small stream and began to drink. Then she spotted some sweet grass and chewed on it, and to her delight, killing the foul taste.
"Onion grass?"
Then she frowned again at his question. He was the second stallion to ask her that. "Its a hat," she said with a hint of venom in her voice. "Just...a hat."

Chev followed her and sniffed the grass taking a nibble.
"well the hat suits you, makes ya look mysterious and smart.
"Selena if you don't like the name Lena just say so, I was just joking anyway."
saying while giving a kinda goofy expression.

Selena did not smile. She didn't like being made fun of. Even if it meant no harm. It made her feel stupid and like a cornered animal. Very dramatic feeling for just a nickname.
"No Chev, I don't like it." She said bluntly.
"And thank you, it shades my eyes from the sun. Very important for me, since I have such a dark coat and my headaches."
She chewed on some more sweet grass. It tasted like sugar and spices. Very yummy.

He was intrigued by her but was a bit skittish at her words.
"so, you like onions?" He liked melons but onions were ok.

"Onions? No I don't," she said with a laugh, "I much prefer apples and grapes. golden mushrooms are by far my favorite though."
Now she was becoming hungry.
"would you like to look for some with me?"
